My Hero's Journey

Hi, everyone! A few days ago, I was watching a YouTuber, Jaiden Animations. I saw a video of her talking about her Hero's journey and thought it would be a good idea to start doing that on Wattpad. This book is basically going to be about everyone's hero's journey. Well, by everyone, I mean those who ask to feature. I'll explain how you can get your Hero's journey in this book at the end of this chapter. But now, I'll tell you mine.

So if anyone doesn't know what a Hero's journey is, I'll tell you. A hero's journey is a process of steps someone takes to get to where they are. This book will basically say that about others. The story of how we got to Wattpad. Everyone ha a Hero's Journey for different things. The steps of a Hero's Journey are:
1. Ordinary World: the hero's normal life/ surroundings before the journey begins
2. Call to Adventure: an event that sparks a calling to the hero to start their journey
3. Refusal/ Acceptance of the Call: the hero must make a decision if they want to accept the call or pass it up
4. Meeting a Mentor Who Acknowledges You: after the hero starts their journey, they will meet a mentor that helps and guides them along the way. they may meet multiple mentors during their journey
5. Crossing the First Threshold: the first major step in the journey that the hero experiences
6. Road of Trials: obstacles the hero endures and must bypass during their journey
7. Supreme Ordeal: a major problem the hero faces. this normally has to deal with personal and/or mental troubles over physical
8. Ultimate Boon: a major peaking point in the hero's journey. it's a very positive point in their life
9. Refusal of the Return: the hero starts not looking back to the past and only working towards their goal
10. Crossing the Return Threshold: the hero must decide if they are going to use their knowledge for good and bringing happiness, or becoming a bitter, selfish person
11. Master of Two Worlds: the hero finally has complete balance over their life and ordeals. they are satisfied with where they are and it is the final step in the journey.

Enough of me blabbering, and let's start the journey...

1. Ordinary World
My name is Siona. I'm not the girl that's spoiled rich, or too poor to eat food. I'm from a middle-class family. Nothing special about that, but that doesn't mean I'm not unique.  My mom had me skip pre-school to homeschool me herself. I learned my multiplication tables before going to school. And she also helped me overcome dyslexia, and also helped me discover my hobbies. I loved to do many things. Read, draw, sing, and write. I loved to watch movies, but I loved reading books more. Books let you have the privilege to use your imagination and make a movie in your mind. It can be however you like it. I can also connect more to the characters cause they often share their thoughts and feelings in the book. So I started writing my own books. I was little and only wrote books for kids. Even though I wanted to become a doctor, I wanted to publish books, too. Of course, I couldn't really do that, but I wrote them anyway. My first book was one of those series books. I named it Gabby and Friends. I know, it's weird, but I was 4 or 5 what else do u expect? It was about an under-water turkey. Yeah, I didn't really continue it when I got older, but I was still in love with the characters and writing different books. I would even draw the pictures. Later, as I grew up, I started getting shyer. I sung in a chorus but never did a solo in front of anyone. My parents know about my hobbies and they love my voice, but I don't really want them to know. I try to keep my drawings private, but still, I let people see them. I wasn't really open about writing books. People knew I loved to read, but not that I like to write. I got bullied a lot for being smart, but that didn't stop me. I'm still living this simple life and I don't want much more.

2. Call to Adventure
My friend (queenkk1026) showed me an app where I can write stories. It was Wattpad. I downloaded it but was still nervous to start writing. I lost a lot of self-confidence after bullying rose. Everyone just hated me. I started to think I was useless and wanted to die. I just didn't have the courage to kill myself, so I didn't. I only had my mom, dad, and a few friends to help me. I spent recess alone since my friends either didn't do their homework and had to stay in the classroom or were dragged away by their other friends who were my bullies. All I did was cry. But I kept my hopes up. My mom had to b e in the hospital cause she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I kept on living this way. I kept moving forward. One day, she came home. She was still being treated but she's gonna live. She survived the main parts: the surgeries. And that helped me decide to do Wattpad

3. Acceptance of the call
I was ready to write. I did like writing chapter books but was I ready to show them to the public? Heck yeah. So I started writing. My fanfic. I wrote that one chapter and posted it. I started out small but was still happy. Little did I know that I'd get this far.

4. Meeting a Mentor
TheMostAwesomeGamer was a great author. We quickly became friends and she was a great helper. I met a lot more friends who helped me write more. I even made another book. I really loved how I was getting views. I didn't have major expectations, but I was blown away with the results. That made me start to realize that maybe, I wasn't complete trash.

5. Crossing the first Threshold
I continued with the chapter and reached 100 reads. I got more and more followers each day. It was amazing! I was now a real author. I was getting more and more attached with Wattpad. I knew I could only do it in the Summer, so I wanted to write as much as I can. I wanted to make everyone happy when reading my books. I loved hearing how my book was getting better and better. I didn't let it get to me too much, but I was still happy.

6. Road of Trials
I started getting depressed after seeing the dark side of Wattpad. I was torn apart when seeing that sadness and drama was here, too. I stopped thinking of it as a safe place and started to see it as another prison. But I remained positive and continued writing stories and helped others break out of depression. I even had some friends help me stay positive. It was the first time my parents weren't the only ones on my side. I wasn't giving up. Not when I got this far.

7. Supreme Ordeal
The problems continued. I was losing more and more hope. But I still didn't want to leave. Even though I was living in a nightmare, I continued. This isn't the first time, so why stop here. I wasn't feeling like myself even after the problem was solved. I acted like I was okay just to make sure no one would feel bad again, but I was wearing that mask once again. I didn't want to continue, but I still did.

8. Ultimate Boon
I don't know what happened, but my fanfic had reached 500 reads! I never expected that to happen, but when it did, I was mind blown. I can't believe people like reading my stories. All I did to write them was dream up crazy ideas and fill in details when writing. I didn't really expect to get this much. 500 means the halfway mark to 1,000 reads. I really appreciate all my followers. You're all like my family. I love it that way.

9. Refusal of the Return
I was loving Wattpad more than I should. I started to get so attached that I couldn't do anything else. All I wanted to do after waking up was write. In fact, I still check Wattpad after waking up to this day. I wasn't doing anything else. I even forget to drink water because I've been writing on Wattpad. I was completely addicted

10. Crossing the Return Threshold
I eventually realized I was staying on Wattpad for WAY too long. I would have to be busy with school later, so I should be having more fun in Summer. So I started doing other things again. I started drawing more, watching YouTube, playing games, and singing. It may take longer to make a new chapter, but I'm having fun and relaxing. I'm enjoying life while I can.

11. Master of Two Worlds
I may not be able to update often, but I'm still having the time of my life. I'm not pressuring myself to update daily. So that's just about it. Remember, that you need to get out of your comfort zone once in a while and take that leap of faith.

Special thanks to all my followers. Especially my mom Roop1980

Thanks for following me guys. Really appreciate it.

Well, this took longer than I expected. This book was actually made to celebrate the day I hit 500 reads. I know, it took a while, but it's here. If any of you also want to tell your Hero's Journey, then just message me what you want to say in Private Message, and I'll type it in the next chapters and make sure you're mentioned. Writing this really helped me reflect on what I've gone through. Everyone has multiple Hero's Journies for different things. This book is for the ones on how you've got on Wattpad. So peeps, that's all. Author Out! *dabs*
