You both lie there in silence for a while when Steve breaks the silence. "Are you ready to tell me about the voices now?"

You let out a large sigh, you stay curled up against him, not able to look at him. "Yes."

"Ok, what did you mean when you said you would stay a monster?" He said trying to help you talk about it.

"My powers are caused by the Mind Stone, it's feeding my emotions. That's why they only seem to come out when I'm angry or feeling any other strong emotion."

"Well, we had basically already came to that conclusion a while ago, what don't we know?" He patiently asks.

"Just like how Loki used the Mind Stone on Clint during the Battle of New York, it amplifies the negatives, the feelings we suppress, the thoughts we normally wouldn't act upon. It's even worse for me since they are inside me. It split me like Jekyll and Hyde. My anger, my distrust, my better judgement. They have been given their own life inside of me, She's been created and is getting stronger by the day. Loki told me if I don't learn to control Her, she will get strong enough to take over and I will cease to exist. It will only be Her, a monster with no remorse, no feelings, no humanity." Your voice starts to crack, desperately holding back the tears.

Steve squeezes you tighter. " So how do you gain control over Her?"

" I have to acknowledge her, stop denying that She exists in my head. I have to let her out to learn to reel her back in. It's the only way. She is this strong already because I've denied it, tried to silence her."

He pulls a piece of your hair and tucks it back behind your ear. "That's why you've been drinking so much. Tony told Bruce and I that he found you passed out cold in your room the other day.You were trying to silence her?"

"I was scared Steve. I thought I was going insane. It made logical sense with everything that had happened to me." You pull his arm around you a little tighter.

"Why wouldn't you tell me or at least tell Tony what was going on?"

" I was afraid I would be right, that you would think I was crazy and lock me away. That I would become something to pity and hide."

You finally roll over and put your hand on his chest. " Every time She comes out, I can see everything she is doing, saying but I can't stop her. That's why I ran this morning, I was able to pull her back just enough to get out of the room. I have no doubt she would have hurt you if I had stayed. All She cares about is herself and what she wants, it doesn't matter who she hurts or what damage she does to get it."

Steve brushes a piece of hair away from your face. "What do you need from me? What can I do to help you?"

"I don't know because I don't know what's going to happen or what She might do. All I need from you right now is just understanding. Understand that some of the things I say and do, won't necessarily be me. I really can't ask for much more than that right now." You say touching his chest, knowing what you eventually have to tell him.

He tilts your chin up and looks in your eyes. "Of course I'll understand, why wouldn't I?" He kisses you gently.

"There is actually one more thing I need from you?"

"What is that?" He asks.

"Will you help me call a meeting with the team tomorrow? I need to tell everyone and put them on alert. I'm hoping the more everyone understands now, the less damage She can do later."

"Sure, we can do it first thing in the morning, if you like?" He can feel how tense you've become and rubs your shoulder to try and relax you.

"Thank you. I don't know how I got so lucky to have you by my side." You give him a kiss.

Your lips linger on his for a minute as he continues to rub your shoulder and down your back. He kisses you back and you feel your heart quicken. He senses your shift and kisses you even deeper. You part your lips welcoming him in, as you start to breath faster. Steve runs his hand down your side and pulls your leg up against his, you can feel his heat rising. He makes love to you again before falling asleep with you in his arms. You fall asleep with hope for tomorrow.
