It's been a couple of days since you saw Loki. Even though he said not to worry about the dream, you can't stop thinking about it and what it means. To help keep your mind off of it you have been alternating between training with Nat and Clint. You spend several hours with Nat working on your hand to hand combat and working on archery and knives with Clint. Today they wanted to put you to the test and train together.

You walk into the training room and start to warm up before they get there. You know they are not going to go easy on you today. Just as you finish Nat and Clint walk in.

" Wow, didn't think you would beat us here." Nat says as she stretches both arms.

" I know both of you. I anticipate this is not going to be a stroll in the park today."

Clint looks over. " Well if you thought the last few days have been a walk in the park, maybe we should have gone harder." He grins as he starts choosing his weapons.

You put your hands up. " By no means is that what I thought. I've had to take ice baths after every training session. Neither one of you held any punches, I know that."

"Great, then let's see what you've got." Nat looks over at Clint. "You ready?"

" Let's do this." Clint says adjusting his quiver.

You take a sip of water and go to set the bottle down when Nat rushes you. You block her punch and give her a round house to her gut, pushing her back. Clint comes from behind and tries to kick your legs out from under you, you drop to the ground first, swiping his legs out from under him. He falls to the ground.

"I see this is going to be fun." Clint says as he jump kicks back up.

All three of you continue in hand to hand for several minutes when Nat gives Clint a nod.

Clint grins. "Time to kick things up a notch."

He shoots an arrow at you, you easily dodge it and grab it as it passes you. He grins and grabs another arrow and rapid fires two more at you. You look across the room and see an extra bow that Clint has strategically placed. You run for it when Nat steps in front of you. You run and jump wrapping your legs around her neck and bring her to the ground. You roll over quickly and grab the bow as Clint shoots another arrow at you. It is about to hit your shoulder when you grab it and rapidly fire back the arrows you've caught. He barely dodges each of them. Of course, none were kill shots if they had hit him. You stand up and Nat comes at you with a blade in hand. You struggle back and forth, both of you fall to the ground. You have put Nat in a hold and take the blade. Clint has lined up to take another shot when you see it out of the corner of your eye. You throw the blade knocking the bow out of Clint's hand. He grabs the blade and goes to throw it at you when he pauses. You feel Nat's hold loosen, they are both looking behind you. You turn to see what has caused the session to stop so abruptly.

You see Steve standing in the doorway, arms crossed watching the whole thing. You immediately let go of Nat and stand up. Nat stands up and brushes her hair out of her face while Clint walks up beside you.

Clint touches Nat's shoulder and looks at you. "We'll leave you to talk. This will be continued at a later time."

Nat gives you a quick squeeze. " Just remember to breath Ok." They leave their gear and walk past Steve. Clint pats Steve's shoulder as he walks by.

"Glad to see you back man." Nat just gives him a quick kiss on the cheek.

You control every urge to run over to him and wrap your arms around him. You walk over grabbing a towel off the bench and wipe your face before you take a drink of water.

Steve walks over to you leaving a few feet of space between you. He looks down at his feet.

"That was really impressive. You've come along way since we trained."

You look up at him. "Well, I've had a lot free time lately so what else was I supposed to do." There is a hint of sarcasm in you voice, you didn't mean it to be there but it was.

"I guess I deserve that." Steve still hasn't looked you in the eyes.

You shake your head. " I'm sorry I didn't mean for it to come out like that. You left and it was either train or medicate myself to keep from loosing it. I felt the later would be more productive."

Steve finally looks up at you and takes a few steps towards you. "Lark, I'm sorry. I never should have reacted that way. I hope you know I would never hurt you?"

" No, I'm sorry for keeping it from you. I knew I had to tell you but I was scared. I don't blame you for being angry with me." Your eyes drop to the floor trying to hold back the tears.

"Lark, I was never angry with you. I know it wasn't really you. I'm not going to say that I'm Ok with Loki knowing you like I do but it's not something you asked for either." Steve steps closer to you. "I was really conflicted to be honest. There was a lot of things I had to work out in my head. I had to come to terms with the fact that Loki didn't force himself on you and that part of you wanted it. I know it wasn't the part that I love and I know loves me but it was still hard to handle at first."

You look up at Steve hearing the crack in his voice. " I do love you and it killed me, watching from behind my own eyes what was happening and not being able to stop it. I tried to fight her Steve I really did. I just wasn't strong enough then." A tear falls from your eyes.

" I know that and it tears me up inside. Lark, I love you and I promise I will never leave you again." You look up at him as he takes your face in his hands. There is just silence between you for a few seconds before he brings his lips down to yours and kisses you.

You break the kiss. "I never wanted to hurt you, I hope you know that. I was so scared that I had lost you forever."

"You could never lose me, you're my best girl. I promise I will never leave you again. I love you Lark nothing could ever change that." Steve pulls you in and hugs you.

Steve looks down at you. "By the way that knife throw at the end was pretty impressive. All of it was impressive."

"It's amazing how much you learn in training when you're not constantly being distracted by your partner." You laugh as you kiss his chin.

Steve grins and squeezes you. " I thought you liked those distractions?" He leans down and kisses your neck. "God, I've missed you."

"I've missed you, too." You hear your stomach rumble. "And I missed breakfast. I'm starving can I make you lunch?"

"I am hungry but we can take of that later. Lunch sounds great." He winks and kisses your forehead.

You enjoy lunch out on the balcony with Steve. As you are bringing the plates in to the kitchen you run in to Tony. Both men just stare at each other not really wanting to apologize first.

You finally break the silence. "Ok, this childish ego shit has got to go. I'm going to make it simple for both of you man children. Tony, did you not over react to the situation just a little bit?"

Tony looks down at the floor then back up at Steve. "Ya, I may have over reacted a bit."

You turn to Steve. "Steve, you lost your temper and regret that don't you?"

Steve clears his throat and looks at Tony. " I did lose control. I never intended to hurt you the way I did."

"Now you both have admitted to over reacting and regret your actions. I apologize to both of you for not telling you sooner and for underestimating your ability to not pass judgment. Please I know things will never be the same. Things have been said that can't be taken back and things have happened that can't be undone. I need my family now more than ever and if we want even a chance against Thanos, we need to work as a team. It's time to put all the differences and dislikes between us aside otherwise I'm as good as dead." You stand with your arms crossed and looking at both men sternly.

"God, Kiddo why would say that?" Tony says with a look of shock on his face.

" Why not Tony? We're scientists, we deal in facts. It's a fact I have to face." You look at Steve. " Steve, you've been in war. Did you win every fight? Did you lose members of your squadron?"

Steve looks down at the ground as he flashes back to losing his best friend Bucky in the war.

"No, we didn't win every fight and yeah I did lose an important member of my squadron."

"Thank You. That's what I'm saying, it's a very real possibility with war and that's what this is. It's not just a war for my life but for humanity and one is far more valuable than the other." You say as your voice lowers with your thoughts.

"I told you Lark, I won't let that be an option." Steve says and meets Tony's eyes. "We won't let that be an option."

" I love you Steve and Tony I know you would do anything to protect me but it's something I have come to terms with. I've made peace with the fact that I may not make it through this and if it stops Thanos, I'm Ok with it."

Tony walks over to you and hugs you so tight. " You have no idea how sorry I am. If I hadn't ok'd your research this would have never happened. You wouldn't have to be making these choices. You would be living a normal life."

You pull back from him. " I know but I would have to live my life without my brother and never meeting the man I love. It's not exactly how I saw my life going but minus a few things I wouldn't change it for the world."

You walk over to Steve and put your arm around his waist. " Now if you don't mind, we have some catching up to do." As you lean up and give Steve a kiss.

Tony rolls his eyes. " This is one thing I did not miss."

You look at Tony. " Hey, I don't say anything when you get all cute with Pepper!"

"That's because I'm just devastatingly sexy." As Tony turns to show off his profile and then leaves the room.

You yell after him. "Thanks, you just made me lose my lunch."

Steve looks down at you. " Now what did you want to get caught up on?"

You grab his hand and start to pull him towards the elevator. "I'm sure you can figure it out."

The two of you spend the rest of the day locked in your room making up for lost time.
