Tony is feverishly searching the tower for Steve. He finally finds him in a training room. He pulls his repulser gloves out of his watch. Steve hears footsteps behind him and turns around, when he is met with Tony's fist.

Steve stumbles back a little being caught off guard. Steve touches his jaw. " What? Tony?"

Tony advances on Steve. " Where are those fists now?" He throws another punch at Steve's jaw. Steve dodges it just in time. Tony keeps advancing forward on Steve causing him to back step.

Steve grabs Tony's next punch out of instinct. The two are toe to toe, Tony's anger very visible.

Steve pushes Tony back a couple feet. As Tony raises his repulsers, Steve grabs for his shield that is down on the floor. In a flash Tony shoots the shield further away from Steve's grasp. Steve runs and slides grabbing the shield. He raises it just as Tony sends another blast his way.

"Tony! Come on, let's talk this out." Steve says from behind the shield as he continues to deflect Tony's shots.

"Talk it out! Talk it out! You sure as hell didn't give Lark that option." Tony puts the rest of his suit on and flies towards Steve.

Steve runs and jumps, pushing his shield down on Tony mid air, causing Tony to land on the ground. Tony gets back up and continues to fire blasts at Steve. Steve uses his shield to deflect the blasts then throws it at Tony knocking him back and onto his knees. Steve catches the shield on the rebound and rushes Tony, striking him in the head with the shield. It knocks the face plate of Tony's helmet off. Steve pushes the shield against Tony's hands as he struggles to keep Steve off his chest.

Clint and Rhodey run into the training room after hearing all the noise. Clint throws a flash bang arrow tip at Steve and Tony. Momentarily breaking the two apart, allowing Rhodey to grab Tony and Clint to step in front of Steve.

"All right that's enough, both of you!" Rhodey yells at the men.

Clint looks at both men. " What the hell is wrong with both of you? This is not how family acts."

Tony wipes blood from his nose. " Well he should have thought of that before he punched a hole next to Lark's head."

"I would never harm Lark. You know that Tony, that's why I left." Steve says.

" Think again Steve! I just left her shattered in her room." Tony yells back at Steve still shaking with adrenaline. " You left but I don't think you went far enough...I want you out of the tower now! If I see you near Lark, I will finish this." Tony says as he points to the door.

Clint and Rhodey are stunned, Steve and Tony have had their differences but never like this.

Clint looks back at Tony and then to Steve.

"Hey, maybe he's right. I have a safe house you can stay not far from here. I think some distance might be for the best right now." He puts a hand on Steve's shoulder.

Steve takes a breath and realizes how far he's taken it. " Maybe you're right. I need time to sort all of this out."

Steve looks over at Tony. " I'll leave but not for you, I'm leaving for Lark. No matter what you think I do care about Lark, and I will come back for her."

Steve turns and leaves grabbing his go-bag while Clint follows behind. Rhodey turns and looks at the mess that is Tony's face.

" What the hell man? You two could have seriously hurt each other or worse. This whole situation is messed up but you can't keep going off half cocked in big brother mode. There is more than one guilty party in this and you know it."

Tony looks at Rhodey shocked to hear that from one of his best friends but he realizes there is truth to what he said. " I'm her only family and I can't stand by and keep watching her get hurt and suffer through all of this bullshit. She wouldn't be going through this if I had never brought her here. She would have had a normal life if I wasn't in it. No matter how much tech or money I throw at this, I can't make it go away."

Rhodey had no idea how much Tony was blaming himself for all that had happened to Lark since she came to stay at the tower. " Look she's a grown woman. Brilliant as both of you are, neither one of you could have predicted any of this. I honestly believe that even if she could go back and change things, she wouldn't. I don't think either of you would give up what you've gained from each other just to avoid this."

Tony pats Rhodey on the back. " And here I thought I was the smart one."

Rhodey grabs the face shield from off the floor and hands it to Tony. " Come on you need to clean yourself up before you see Lark again. Are you going to tell her about Steve?"

" No not right now. She's barely holding on, I don't want this to push her over the edge." He takes the mask from him and they both walk out of the room leaving it in a shambles.

Clint and Steve are driving over to the safe house. Steve's head has been in his hands since they got in the car. Clint looks over at Steve and finally speaks. " I've known you for a while man, I got to ask. What the hell were you thinking?"

Steve runs his hands down across his jawline. " I wasn't. All I could see was Loki touching her, touching Lark. I understand it wasn't Lark in control but..." He can't seem to say the words.

" ....It's still her body. I get it, I probably would have acted the same way." Clint says finishing Steve's thoughts.

" I'm angry, I'm confused...my thoughts are just so mixed up right now. I know it's not something she wanted but it wasn't forced on her either." Clint is starting to see the conflict in Steve's head.

" So you don't think Loki forced himself on her?"

Steve shakes his head. "No, Loki has done a lot of terrible things, but I think that is still one line he wouldn't cross. I've come up against Ms. Hyde, she's not going to let anyone take advantage of her. No, She wanted it."

" Well, that makes things clearer doesn't it?" Clint is sill trying to see the issue.

" Hyde is still apart of Lark. It's her worst impulses, her darkest desires but they are still Lark's deep down." Steve just looks out the side window as it sinks in to Clint what he's struggling with.

"So you think deep down Lark wanted Loki?" Clint shakes his head. " That's insane, she's crazy about you. She would never have made it through what she has if you weren't there by her side helping her."

" A part of me knows that but I can't help but wonder if something hasn't been there from the start. Does she feel something for Loki that she doesn't want to admit? Just the thought of him touching her and her liking it kills me inside."

Steve looks over at Clint. " But how do I say any of this to her without making her feel guilty or ashamed for something she really couldn't control? I don't know what to say to her without hurting her more than I already have? I'm trying to wrap my head around it all. I finally got over losing Peggy when I found Lark but it hurts the same all over again."

Clint can't begin to fathom what Steve is feeling right now. "I think you just need a little space to sort all of this out and what you want to say to Lark? I believe that your relationship with Lark can come back from this it just needs time. You both love each other, there is no doubt about that. I've never known you to give up on something you believe in and I know you believe in your love for Lark."

" I really do love her, Clint. I can see a life with her if we can make it through all of this. Thank you for stopping us earlier, I know you have my six"
