You wake up a few hours later. You are snuggled up against Steve with your arm across his chest. You look up at Steve, he smiles down at you.

" Hi, Sleepyhead. Are you feeling better?"

You stretch and give him a quick kiss. " Yes much better."

" Good, so what did you need my help with for Tony's birthday?"

You sit up in bed and look at him. " I have an idea for a gift that he can't buy himself. I need to drive downtown, would you go with me?"

" Of course. What can you get him that he doesn't already have?" He questions.

"You'll see and he will never anticipate it." You say with a grin.

The both of you drive downtown, picking up Tony's gift and ordering dinner from his favorite Italian restaurant, Marea. It took a little longer than you had anticipated. Everyone has eaten dinner already, so you order pizza for you and Steve. You curl up on the couch, eating pizza and watching Casablanca, Steve's favorite movie.

The next day you are still not quite ready to resume training with Loki. You are hoping that the only eventful thing that happens today is Tony's birthday dinner tonight. You decide to take Bruce up on his offer and talk with him for several hours comparing how Ms. Hyde is different from Hulk. They do share several similarities but more differences than not. Bruce explained how he keeps Hulk at bay when he doesn't need him, you are definitely taking some of those ideas into your next training session with Loki.

You spend pretty much the rest of the day, training with Nat. It was nice to switch up training with Steve. You train with Steve most of the time but there are definitely less distractions training with Nat.

Everyone is starting to gather in the kitchen for dinner. The food has arrived and the delivery staff is setting it up when Pepper walks in.

" Wow Lark. You really went all out for dinner. There is enough to feed an army for a month."

About that time Thor walks in. " Excellent choice Lark. I am ravenous after being in Asgard all day."

Pepper looks back at you and grins. " Actually, I think you order perfectly Lark." Both of you laugh watching Thor survey the spread that is being set out.

You are soon joined by Loki, Bruce and Clint.

"What is that amazing smell? Is that food from Marea?" Nat says as she comes sliding in behind you.

"Of course. The birthday boy should have only the best today. Speaking of which, has anyone seen him."

"I had to drag him out of his lab but he's here." Steve says as he walks in with Tony.

" All hail the boy of birthdays!!" Thor cheers.

Everyone shakes their head and laughs. Pepper sits next to Tony, you and Steve across the table from them. Thor, Loki and Rhodey to your left. Nat, Bruce and Clint to your right. There is much laughter and conversation as you eat. Delicious food and wine flow just as easily. You decide now is the perfect time to give Tony his gift.

You stand up and get everyone's attention. " Tony, I know this is not how you would normally spend your birthday but you could not be surrounded by more love and friendship than what is around this table right now."

Everyone raises their glass and seconds the sentiment. " I do have a little something from me to you. I hope it will mean as much to you as it does to me." You get up and pick up a small flat box that you had hidden on the counter. You walk over and hand it to Tony and wait for him to open it up.

He takes the box and shakes it a little. " Well it's to small for a new yacht and doesn't make enough noise to be keys to a new Bugatti."

Pepper playfully slaps him in the arm. " Just open it."

You hold your breath as he opens the box and stares down in to it. His eyes start to well up a bit.

"Well, what is it? It must be good, I think he's speechless." Asks Clint.

Tony clears his throat and is fighting his eyes welling up. He quietly says." Is this what I think it is?"

You look down at him with a huge smile and a tear in one eye. "Yes, it is."

Nat breaks the silence. " Are you going to tell us or not?"

Tony pulls a document out of the box and continues to stare at it. " It's a request for a legal name change for Lark Monroe-Stark. Are you serious, Kiddo?" He looks up at you with such a mix of love and pride.

"Yes, I am. I never wanted the Stark name before because it didn't mean anything to me. In such a short period of time you have given it more meaning than I could have imagined. So if you don't mind, I would like to make our little family official?"

Tony stands up and gives you the biggest hug, while Pepper and Nat wipe tears away.

" Wow! You gave him a sister for his birthday. Way to set the bar for next year. Thanks Lark." Rhodes says jokingly as he rolls his eyes.

Tony finally lets you go from his hug and looks at you. " I'll send it over to my attorneys tonight to finish up the process. Wow kid. I just... wow. Thank you, this is the best present I could have received today." He hugs you again and kisses your forehead before you head back to your seat.

You take your seat next to Steve again. He just looks at you and gives you a kiss. " You continue to amaze me Dr. Monroe-Stark. You were so right about the gift."

You touch the side of his face. " Thank you for helping me make it happen." You kiss him, lingering a little longer.

"Ahem! All right I don't want to lose the wonderful dinner I just enjoyed so enough with lovey dovey stuff." Tony says as he sits back down making a little gagging motion.
