In the early hours of the morning you start to dream. You are in downtown New York, looking up to the sky. There is a large ship hovering above you, you've never seen it before. You look around you and see destruction. Cars are over turned and on fire, buildings with walls destroyed and ruble around them. You can hear Tony yelling your name through an ear piece. You see Nat laying unconscious and bleeding. In the distance, Steve is running towards you.

A strange voice comes from behind you " The Master, WILL come for the rest of the Stone, it's pointless in fighting us." You turn to see a tall gray figure with large hands and a monolith of a figure standing next to him holding what looks like a battle axe. " I'll never go with you!" You hear yourself say.

The tall grey figure looks at you and waves his hand. " Well then, I guess the rest of your friends die today." You turn to hear Steve scream in pain and fall to the ground. Clint tries to fire off several arrows but they are redirected back to him and hit him in the center of his chest. All you can do is scream. "NO!"

You jolt upright out of your sleep. You look around and realize you are still in your room, Bruce and Nat are sitting watching you.
"Are you O.K.?" Nat asks as she walks towards you. " Have a bad dream?"

" I don't know? I didn't feel like one." Your heart finally stops pounding.

"Can I ask what it was about?" Bruce inquires.
"I was in the middle of downtown. It looked like a war zone, there was a ship above me but not like the ones from the Battle of New York. Everyone around me was hurt."

" Is there anymore you can remember?" Bruce gently pushes.

" There were two creatures, one talked to me. He told me his Master would come for the other parts of the Stone, that I should give up now before he killed all of you." You say trying to shake off the feeling of seeing all your friends dead.

Nat looks to Bruce. " I think we need to go talk to Tony" She looks at you reassuringly. " It will be O.K. We'll come back. Will you be fine by yourself for a bit?"

"Yes, I'll be fine. A long hot shower sounds good right about now." You say as you swing your legs out of bed and stand up.
After your shower, you get dressed but Nat and Bruce have not returned. You decide to find Tony and ask why your dream seemed so important to them. You get in the elevator to go to the 2nd floor where the labs and mission room are located. As you step off the elevator you run straight into Tony.

"Just the person I was looking for." You both say simultaneously.

Tony takes your hand. " Come with me. I've gathered the team in the Mission Room. There are somethings we need to talk about."
You don't like the sounds of that at all, but you follow Tony into the room. Everyone is seated at the large round table. As you and Tony enter they all look up at you. You see Steve resist the urge to stand up and come to you. You wish that you could just be alone with him right now, but the thought also frightens you.
Tony clears his throat and looks at you. "Lark, can you tell us about the dream you had?"

"That's the thing Tony, it definitely didn't feel like a dream but I don't know what it was either."
" I know, but please can you tell everyone?" Tony patiently asks.
You tell everyone what you told Nat and Bruce about the dream. You can feel the mood of the room shift but no one is talking.

Thor asks " Can you describe the creatures more?"
" I really can't. It's like the more I try and remember the details, the hazier it all becomes. I'm sorry."

Loki stands up and walks towards you. You instinctively take a step back from him. He looks at you with a look you've never seen from him, compassion. "Please Lark, let me help?" You reluctantly shake your head, yes. He places his hand to your forehead. The dream comes back into full clarity but this time Loki is standing next to you in it. He quickly removes his hand and looks down at the floor.

"Brother, what did you see?" Thor breaks the silence in the room.
"It's what I feared. It was Cull Obsidian and Ebony Maw, they are part of Thanos's top soldiers." He says addressing the whole room.

You've heard that name referenced before but don't understand what it would have to do with you. " Who is that and why are they in my dreams?" You ask hoping someone will answer.

Tony pulls out a chair for you to sit. That is never a good sign with him. "We've known about Thanos since the Battle of New York. He was basically the one behind it all. The Mind stone is one of six stones that he is in search of. All we know so far is that if all six stones are brought together it could mean destruction across the universes."

You try to swallow your stomach back down out of your throat. " Oh is that all."
Thor from across the table says." We have the Mind stone here as you know. The Tesseract, which holds the Space Stone is safe on Asgard."

The picture becomes clear to you. " You have most of the Mind Stone. I have the rest in my spine. They said he needed ALL the pieces to complete it. That puts me at the top of his wanted list, doesn't it?"

Steve finally speaks." I'm afraid so Lark, but I.. We won't let that happen, ever." You know even after what you did to him, he would give his life for yours. As you look around the table, you know they all would. "So what do we do now?" You ask deciding to take the offensive.

Tony looks you in the eyes. " We train and we prepare. We may not know when, but the fight will come to us."
Everyone leaves but you and Tony when Steve approaches you. He takes a deep breath and lets it out.
" I don't necessarily like the idea but with this news, I think you're right about training with Loki." He reaches out and takes your hand. Just feeling his touch eases your anxiety. " If he can help you understand and control your power, it would give us added strength in our defense."

Tony looks at you. " Then we start tomorrow." Tony walks out, leaving just you and Steve alone. He hasn't let go of your hand. "Can we talk?" He says trying to get you to look at him.
You struggle to find the strength to look him in the eyes. "I'm the one that should do all the talking. I don't think I can apologize enough for what I did yesterday. I don't ever want you to look at me like that again."

"Lark, I'm ok. You didn't hurt me."

"But I could have! What if Tony hadn't stopped me when he did? I couldn't control it, it didn't even feel like me doing it." You start to cry remembering the look of shock in Steve's eyes when you turned him around in your hold. " You should be afraid of me. I'm afraid of me right now."
Steve pulls you to him and you rest your head on his chest. " I will never be afraid of you, ever. I know that was not you doing that yesterday. I realize Loki is our best option right now. I can't believe I just said that, but it's the truth."
