20. And then... the End

Lahar laughed at Kiva as he crawled around on the floor with his niece Anatuchka making baby noises. Soon they would have a child of their own. Euromus was impressed at the way the Nagorins lived and even more so at how they were recovering. He sat with the King and Mr. Quebec discussing how things had been going since the end of the war.

Desono was busy training his son Elim who had decided to remain in Nagoray and learn from his father. They busied themselves in the towns seeing to the needs of residence. Edelweiss often enjoyed coming along much to Elim's dismay.

Hyxoes often laughed at this knowing there was no cure for Elim and his...Elimness as he had come to call it. He wrote Wessex about his anecdotes often.  Munich and Ortensia made the journey with the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess and now settled into their own home in the shadow of the palace. It was new but a new start was what they needed. Immediately after arriving he sent for his sister whom he thought would enjoy the warmer climate. He was surprised to learn earlier that Johannesburg had been visiting her often and now worked for Emperor Herculaneum at the Mount Palace.

As Naogora watched her family and friends enjoying each other's company and telling their story how they survived the war she sighed. Leaving the throne room she climbed up into the tower where she knew she would find Hero. He stood at the opening flying a kite in the afternoon winds. She joined him and looked over the land that had at long last been returned to them.

Hero smiled at his mother. They had a lot to look forward to in the months to come. Awash and Maringa had promised to come visit. He had learned that they took part on reconstructing the Tangian residences and that Maringa was particularly proud of herself. He was also less surprised than he thought he would be when he learned that Siloam had joined them there too. He wished them well and looked forward to their visit.

"Might a try it?" Naogora asked and Hero handed her the kite string.

"You just tug at it to make it go higher," he said. As his mother flew the kite Hero closed his eyes and breathed in the warm caressing breeze. "We've came back." He whispered into the wind clutching his newly returned eye if Nagoray necklace.  "I love you Nagoray."

The wind in my hair

Is finally there

And no one can take me away from here

From the crying mountains

To the whispering stream

I watch as the willows sway in the breeze

There I'll be

I'm watching you, you're watching me

And you send the ghostly fog down

From sea to sea, whoa

I'm watching you, you're watching me

Shed your glory for all to see

I'm watching you, you're watching me

The rain pours down and down

Look at the happy spirits all around

At air at sea and on the ground

You're watching me I'm watching you

And right now I don't know what to do

Homeland, whoa

The sun is setting to its home

I'm not moving, no I won't roam

There is no place I'd rather be

No, no, never never no

I'm watching you, you're watching me

The wind is singing the song of the sea

You're watching me I'm watching you

The colors of the rainbow shine

As the sun comes up I see all that's mine

I'm watching you

The wind in my hair

You're watching me

Is finally there
