When Deku walks into the café the next day to see a pissed off four-eared dude standing behind the counter instead of you, he instantly freaks out.

He'd already been concerned when you didn't come on the group chats at all yesterday, and didn't respond to his emails earlier, but now you weren't at work? Sure, you fucking hate your job, but you're always here. Something is up. He tentatively walks up to the counter to talk to the angry guy.

"Welcome," he says, putting on a strained smile. "Can I help you?"

"Um, I'm sorry, but is Y/n here?" Deku asks.

The guy sighs. "I wish. You're one of the regulars they talk to while they're working, right? I'm out here 'cause they didn't show up today. Disappeared in the middle of their shift yesterday. Apparently they didn't go home last night either. Their brother's freaked."

"What?!" Deku accidentally shouts, before he turns red and scratches his cheek. "Uh, d'you have any idea where they could be?"

"Nope," he pops the 'p'.

Very helpful, Deku thinks dryly, before blinking. Shit, Y/n's infected me with their sarcasm... OH MY GOD I JUST SWORE— MOTHER PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR I HAVE SINNED.

"Okay, uh, thank you anyway!" Deku smiles, before heading out. He quickly pulls out his phone, continuing to walk as his fingers fly across the keyboard.
