Snow Day
Grian's POV
I woke up and slowly worked up the will to get out of bed. I peeked through the gap in my curtains and saw the snow slowly drifting down. That helped to get me up. I leaped down the stairs three at a time and saw Mumbo sitting on the couch watching Hallmark movies. "Mumbo, it's snowing! There's gotta be like, a foot out there!" I was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed now that there was snow outside. "Can we go outside? Please?" Mumbo stood up and stretched. "Sure. It sounds like fun!" I immediately grabbed my coat and hat and scarf and gloves, put on my boots, and raced out the door. I didn't care that I was in my pajama pants, there was something I had been waiting to do since Halloween. I turned so I was facing the front door. Mumbo was just coming outside when I flopped back into the snow, perfect snowball snow. I made a snow angel and lay in the snow for a minute. I stood up carefully. Now that's done and dusted, I bent down and made a snowball. "Hey Mumbo." Mumbo was watching me from the front deck. "Yeah?" Suspicion laced his voice. "Merry Christmas!" I chucked the snowball at him and hit him square in the chest. I didn't expect my aim to be that good. "Oh, it's on." Oh no. Mumbo is now piling snowballs, ready to fire. I make myself a wall to protect me while I pack some snowballs together. The snowballs start flying. I don't know how long we were throwing snowballs at each other, but it was a long enough time. We were getting cold, my legs in particular, but we had to do one more thing. Build a snow golem. We roll the bottom and middle pieces and Mumbo sticks a pumpkin on top. I shear the pumpkin away and behold, the best snow golem in the history of snow golems! I take my scarf off and give it to the golem. Perfect. "Grian, you ready to go back inside?" I nod. Mumbo wraps an arm around my shoulders and we head back inside, ready for Hallmark, cookies, and hot chocolate.
------------------------------------------
Not bad for the first day, if I do say so myself. This is a pretty accurate representation of the first snow in Ohio with my younger brother, Isaac. Actually, I shouldn't say that we only built the butt of the snowman just stayed in our yard for a few days. War was waged and snowman bottoms hung out in our yard.
Merry Christmas from ya wolf. - Wuluf
