Hello hello! Welcome back once again to this week's Hermittpad Recap, brought to you by your favorite recap team!!

We'd like to take a brief moment to apologize for the delay in this week's chapter. We've all got busy lives and sometimes it happens. Thank you for being patient with us, however, and we're happy to see you back!

So with that said, let's just get on into what you came here for, and kick it off with some book updates!

First up on our list are the newest chapters of Taken By the Rift by Night5kyes! Multiple were released this week and author you are quite the madman and massive respect! The latest of the chapters involves a bit of a reunion so we're hoping you readers are all caught up before checking out the last chapter; number 22!

Fly You Fool! Is not only an amazing reference but also the title of ButterFlies77Writes new angsty oneshot! It stars Iskall, Stress and Xisuma! The fic follows Stress' perspective (then later Xisuma's), as she and Iskall are trapped by fire! Will they be able to escape with X, or die by flame or hellhounds?

Shifting tones with a complete 180 we have more incorrect quotes from BlackMors_! From Tango discovering true power, to Scar being scary and Wels providing a different perspective, these chapters are never lacking quality quotes! :D Also at the end, the lovely author provides an interesting question regarding fandoms and fanfictions, so why don't you provide your perspective on chapter 92 of incorrect quotes? :O

A Rift Through Worlds, the Hermitcraft and DreamSMP crossover story by MurtoK updated this week! The chapter is titled Soft Interlude as it follows random shenanigans Tommy has gotten up to between the chapters! From Ren to Grian, to Stress, it seems no one is safe from his antics!

Grian has to choose between Evo and Hermitcraft in Stop! Please, That_One_Girl_LOL's latest oneshot! A songfic based on It's You by Ali Gate!

thathermitweirdo brings us Grumbo fuel within part 3 of Adoption, located in their oneshots book! However, we can't get there without dealing with some Tommy angst first! It's his birthday and he's received no word from the two D:

Chapter 40 of Hels Rebellion by AvianFalls was released this week! It is the fifth part of The Past and titled Betrayal! The author includes a warning at the beginning and has provided a safe summary of the chapter at the end for those uncomfortable with the contents! (Stealing our jobs smh /j -Crocs) Grian discovers something horrific in this upload and is even more horrified to find the culprit behind the incident!

Let's get back to some fluff, shall we? Phoom_some can help us with that! This week they updated their oneshots book with Spider! Grian, Mumbo, and Iskall are all roommates, and in their shared space, Grian discovers a spider and calls for Mumbo's help! But what's a man to do when his roommate is just as scared?

Last Breath is a crossover au with the DreamSMP and is written by PhantasmagoricalVoid! Chapter 9 follows Xisuma's perspective as he wakes up to two people! One he recognizes instantly, but it takes him a bit more time to realize who the other was, given the gap of time since they last saw each other and the change in appearances.

Part two of Then Suddenly Hels Was Only a Man by EminenceGhost was dropped this week in their oneshots book! The final part of their Bdubs/Hels fic starts with a bit of a totally platonic picnic date- I mean get together! Hels comes to the conclusion he has to come clean to Bdubs about not just his true intentions, but his feelings as well.

Terrible Excuses is the name of the third chapter in Two Collides, a Hermitcraft and Bench Trio (Ranboo, Tubbo, Tommy) crossover by Floriq! This chapter starts with Tubbo discovering Tommy and Ranboo's plan for his party!

The latest chapter of Hidden Within by EvolvedGlitch features Iskall, Mumbo, and Grian going golfing! (very season 6 nostalgia I'm so happy :D - Crocs) However, while the architechs are getting up to those shenanigans, Xisuma finds himself in some trouble in the End D:

This week, NinjaKitty1929 uploaded not one, not two, but TEN drabbles into one chapter within their oneshots book! From Hex to Beetho to Tangdaph to more, hurt/comfort, flangst, fluff, this upload is not short of any content you need! With such a variety of platonic and romantic pairings, you're bound to like something there, so go ahead and check it out! :)

Multiple parts of TinyAzalea101's Skyrim AU in their Season 9 oneshots book were uploaded this week! It's okay if you don't know a lot about the game too because they provide a few lore details at the beginning of some of the updates! As of writing this there are five parts so far so consider reading!

Crystal_queer continues to write for the bdocfest event (which is still ongoing in the bdoc server!) with the new fic in their bdoc oneshot book; Time Passes! And angsty upload set in a zombie apocalypse au! That being said, be mindful of the warnings! :)

As always, lots of good stuff this week! Let's get on to some new books though, shall we?

Kicking it off, Meva400 has officially kicked up the Songfic Summer competition with her own story! Plenty of other contestants in this challenge have also posted their first chapters, so make sure to check out her book to see the other participants and cheer them on too! Oh, and the song prompt for this week is Ain't No Crying by Derivakat!

AxolotlQueenAQ has released a new AU, High Flying, in which the members of Hermitcraft are dragons, and angst ensues! The first chapter is off to quite a start and we can't wait to see where this goes!

Also releasing a new AU this week is Soft-esSoundFan! Their new book To Break a Cycle is a Watcher AU! This book has already received three chapter updates this week (wow!!) and we can begin to see the story unfold as Grian faces his past. Go give it a read!

Lastly, not so much a new AU, but a revisiting of an old favorite! AnimatedImposter is rewriting Alter Ego in their new and improved writing style after the previous version of this story was put on hiatus! This AU features the Hermits guided by their alter egos, some of whom might just be corrupted! If you're in for some angst, make sure to keep up with this story as more chapters are released!

Now, before we wrap things up today, let's take a moment to recognize some of the achievements in the community this week! Daddy_Long_Leg_1 has achieved 10k reads on their Grian oneshots book, and MushroomFearie has hit 100 followers!
