Running, that was what the girl was doing. She just ran and ran until she rounded a corner, letting the things run by her.

She heard foot steps retreat into the red abyss, she let out a sigh of relief and slid down the uneven wall; gently resting her head on her arms as she brought her knees too her chest.

You may be wondering how she got into this position, well, long story short, she had just been thrown out of her village by her people, into the hell hole called the "nether", the people she thought she could trust. It all turned out to be a lie, she hated it.

She thought back to all the memories she made at her 'home'. She winced slightly, remembering her friends and families faces when they found out she was "evil". Truth be told, she wasn't evil, her friends and family were just heavily religious and believed anything they were told that was somewhat related to their religion.

The girl let out a shaky sigh, quickly shaking the memories from her head.

'I cant think about that now' the girl told herself.

'I need to be in the here and now or there won't be a here and now...'

The thumping of feet broke her from her thoughts as she peaked 'round the corner, eyes widening slightly.

The things found her. She hastily sped off, narrowly missing a sword to the head.

She ran and ran, oh, and a bit more running. Twisting and turning, parkouring over lava (resulting in minor burns), juking those things and giving a few a boink on the head or nose when they got a bit too close for comfort. As time went one, she began to grow tired, having a few close calls near the end.

"Over here!" a voice called. She whipped her head in the direction of the sound, seeing a person waving her over.

Without thinking, the girl ran towards the source of the voice, putting all the energy she had left into that last run, silently promising her burning legs that they could rest in a moment.

She raced through the doorway(?), hearing a big bang and multiple grunts, quickly followed by hitting to the thing keeping the things out. She rushed to help keep whatever was keeping those things out of the room because theres no way is hell she would let them get in there.

After a minute or two of keeping the door(?) closed, the banging seized and shuffling was heard on the other side of the door and the duo were met with silence. The two sighed in relief and both collapsed to the ground, the girl slightly more thankful for rest because of how much she had been running.

They looked at each other for a moment, before bursting into a fit of giggles; acting as if the two had been best friends for years and as if they weren't in the middle of a life or death situation a moment ago.

They eventually calmed down, light panting filled the empty room.

"What's your name?" The girl panted lightly, shifting her head towards the unknown being.

"The names Tango, who are you?" 'Tango' replied, turning to look at the girl.

"Y/N, the names Y/N," Tango smiled, finally knowing the name of the person he saved.

Y/N looked closer at Tango, managing to get a good look at him now they weren't fighting for their lives, he had curly, blonde hair, almost gold-like, with little horns protruding from his thick locks and a little devil tail to go with them, where the whites of the eyes of a normal human being would be, they were blood red and his irises were ruby red; a really nice ruby red might she add. And had pointy ears, which honestly looked really cute. He was also wearing a lot of red clothing, which really shouldn't be surprising seeing as they were in a place covered in red, but there was a small mix of blue, it wasn't noticable if you took a quick glance, you had to actually look with your eyes (surprising, I know) to see it properly.

"So....." Tango started. "How'd you get here?" Tango questioned, tilting his head slightly as he sat up, facing Y/N.

"Ummm..... I kinda got thrown in here by my people?" Y/N answered, although it sounded more of an awkward question than an answer.

"Oh.... I'm sorry to hear that..." Tango uttered, feeling a little bad that he asked.

"Its ok Tango! Theres no need to apologise, you couldn't do anything since you didn't even know about it in the first place" Y/N hastily replied, using exaggerated hand gestures to try and emphasize what she was saying.

Tango chuckled at her actions, leaning on a nearby wall for a bit of support.

"Anyways, since we have time, do you have any stories about this place? I take it you've been here a while since you have a little base set up" Y/N suggested, gesturing to the bed, weapons and stash of food supplies.

"Oh boy, do I have stories to share, you would not believe the type of shenanigans that go on down here, let me tell ya" Tango chuckled, remembering a few funny times when some pigmen got covered in glitter.

"Oh! Please do tell!" Y/N urged, shifting into a comfortable position for story time.

"Alright, alright. I guess a few stories wouldn't hurt" Tango smirked, getting a nearby chair, placing it infront of the girl, sitting down and getting comfortable; knowing this will be awhile.

"Ok, so there was this one time when..." and so story time took place.

The stories were all so diverse. As well as funnier the more time that went by,  Y/N was quite literally, on the floor laughing, no, wheezing their heart out. Tango himself was letting out a few chuckles as well, only now recalling how funny they were because he wasn't in those situation at the moment.

He wiped a few tears away, chuckling slightly, quickly trying to continue the story, "and the best thing about it? They were covered in pink glitter and wearing dresses, charging at me with their weapons. I could clearly see they wanted to kill me, no, not kill, let me rephrase that, I could literally feel how sassy they could be in those dresses. And boy.... were they sassy."

Y/N erupted into another wheeze fest, clutching their stomach as if their life depended on it.

"H-how many stories l-like these do y-you have?!" Y/N questioned, quickly getting hooked into another wheeze fest at the thought of those things in dresses.

Tango chuckled, "I have a few more but I'm not going to risk it because you already seem like you're on the edge of death with all that wheezing"

Y/N let out another big wheeze, and proceeded to have a seizure.

"As shown" Tango commented, smiling brightly, his tail flicking fondly in delight.

Y/N let out the biggest wheeze I'm sure you have ever heard but eventually started to calm down, seeing as Tango wasn't telling anymore stories.

"You okay?" Tango asked upon seeing Y/N's flushed face.

"Y-ya, I think I'm fine" Y/N puffed, still tightly clutching their stomach, a smile spread across their face.

"That's good, you wanna go to sleep? You seem tired" Tango suggested, nodding his head in the direction of the bed.

"That's probably a good idea, but what about you?" Y/N questioned, sitting up and tilting their head slightly.

"I'll be fine" Tango remarked, slowly starting to sit on the ground, getting ready to go to sleep.

"Alright, if you say so..." Y/N muttered, heading to the bed and settling.

Y/N quickly fell asleep, light snores resonating from her still being, the only movement from her body being the slight rise and fall of her chest.

Tango glanced over at the girl, smiling slightly before landing his gaze back on the ceiling, memorizing the emergency exit he made incase of an incident with the zombie pigmen.

He sighed lightly, closing his heavy eye lids, a smile slowly rising to his face knowing he finally had some company after what seemed like years of feeling alone and empty...
