Zloy shivered, he looked at Pixl. "H-how a-are we going to get o-out of this," He stuttered out. He was cold...so, so cold. It was a freezing, snowy night and both of them were out in the woods. They had been walking for hours, ever since they left that place. They were so far away from the city...so far away from help.
But for the moment, they rested in a small clearing in the woods under the snowing weather. It would be too difficult to continue in this weather. It was far too risky. They were both sitting in different logs that were facing each other.
It was mostly likely that it had been previously used, as they had found those logs placed like that plus a burnt-out campfire - most likely from the previous travellers that had passed through. They had managed to light the campfire with the little magic Pixl had left.
It had provided them some warmth, along with the help from the tree's canopies it helped, but it had quickly died after some time. And even so, the little warmth it had given them was not enough, the night was much more than freezing. And knowing the land they currently were in, it would only get much worse.
Pixl sighed, he shivered looking cast fallen at the ground. "I-I don't know..." He choked out. He never liked it when he didn't know what to do. It was frustrating for him yet he had to remain calm, there was no time available for panicking.
"D-do y-you have any m-magic left?"
Pixl gave a faint smile as he lifted his head and looked at the Zloy. The zombie returned him with a small smile, he was shivering quite badly...most likely a bit frozen from the weather as well.
"I-I don't think so b-but I could t-try." He sighed. Closing his eyes, he gently swung himself side to side and lifted his head into the night sky, before attempting to break into a tune.
"G-give me s-some warmth, g-give me some l-light. Show me the w-way, give m-me some h-hope. Give me w-warmth, give me l-light, do this one t-thing because I c-choose youuu." Pixl slowly sang, shivering. He waited a couple of seconds, before opening his eyes again. He looked at the campfire.
It made some crackling noises before a couple of flames ignited. The fire was green and let out a soft green glow. Some bursts of energy sparkled around them. Pixl gave a small laugh, as he heard his zombie friend quietly gasp in awe.
Ever since he'd lost his very own magic and had to depend on Callie's magic, Zloy had been amazed by almost anything magic now. Pixl shook his head, it was tough losing magic and it had been worse for Zloy...he was from there after all. It was generally known that all of them depended on magic... just like the land, he'd come from himself.
The small warmth gave them hope even if it was just for a couple of minutes, for alas the flames slowly died down and extinguished. Pixl didn't have enough magic to support it... let alone enough magic to support it throughout the night.
They both stared at the campfire. It had warmed them up even if it was slightly, for in this weather anything was better than nothing.
"It w-was worth a try a-and it was still b-better than nothing," Zloy gently said, seeing Pixl's disappointed face.
Pixl sighed, "I g-guess so."
"So n-no more m-magic?"
"No m-more magic, Z-zloy," Pixl gave a small nod. Zloy looked down at the pouch that was tied around his neck. He gently uncapped it from around his neck and opened it. Pixl looked at him with curiosity.
"Z-zloy?"
"I-I only h-have a bit l-left from Callie's m-magic. S-should I t-try?"
Pixl sighed, "Only if y-you want to, alright?"
"A-alright."
Zloy took a deep breath, before pulling out a small bottle from the pouch. He poured some of the powder into his hand and spilled it into the air. He closed his eyes. Letting it sit in the air, he slowly swung himself and attempted to break into a tune.
"G-give me y-your ashes. Give m-me your p-pain. Give me s-some warmth. L-light up the c-candles. G-give me s-some hope and s-show me the w-wayyy," Zloy slowly sang, his voice breaking into a soft, pleasing tune.
Pixl glanced at the campfire, some sparks started to appear before it burst into a bright, blue fire. He glanced at Zloy who was still singing, Pixl smiled. As much as his very own magic was powerful, Zloy's was much more powerful. And this still applied even if he didn't have any magic left and had to use Callie's magic. It was quite remarkable indeed.
"A shame he won't admit it." Although Zloy doubted himself a lot, his magic was something that would be one thing Pixl never doubted. The zombie's magic was very powerful, regardless of anything.
Thinking of it, it was very rare for Pixl to doubt a thing about Zloy. There would be a lot of hope and opportunities for his friend, one day. Hopefully, when things die down and become calmer, there will be some more. He chuckled, shaking his head before returning his attention to Zloy.
"Give m-me your a-ashes. Give me y-your pain. Give me some w-warmth," Zloy sang, his voice broke less as he warmed himself up. The campfire's fire was helping both of them.
"Give me s-some light. And give m-me some hope, c-cause I choose youuu," Zloy ended with a soft long tune. He kept his eyes closed and swung a bit more before he opened his eyes and looked at the campfire.
His eyes glimmered with happiness. "I d-did it!" He exclaimed, looking at Pixl.
Pixl let out a quiet laugh. Getting up, he walked over and sat next to Zloy and hugged him. He smiled, "Y-yeah you did."
A comfortable silence overcame them before Pixl suddenly spoke up, "It's l-late, we should probably get rest while we can."
He gave Zloy one more hug, before going over to the log he was previously sitting on. Pixl curled out next to it, lying down on the snowy ground. The trees would provide them with a bit of shelter from the freezing and snowing weather.
As much as the campfire helped them, it was still freezing, though it was much more tolerable now. Zloy followed Pixl's actions, "N-night Pixl!"
"Goodnight, I'll s-see you at dawn," Pixl looked at Zloy who was already falling asleep. He smiled before closing his eyes and slowly falling into a peaceful, deep slumber himself.
The campfire was left on and provided them with some warmth throughout the night. And so both of them fell asleep and despite everything that had happened, they were both quite happy with the progress they had made.
