Irl and mc meet
A messy followup sketch to 'What's an Earth'
"Won't he be startled?" Mumbo wrung his hands nervously.
"Well yes, but we don't have communication with this other universe. We're lucky we can even bring them here!" Xisuma explained.
X took Biffa's hand, sent him a glance, and then pressed the button. There was a flash, and then a figure collapsed on the platform, sending Mumbo's hands aflutter, nervously fidgeting with a loose strand of hair.
Xisuma nodded to Mumbo, who cautiously crept into the center of the platform, crouching over the prone figure.
"Are you alright, sir?" Mumbo rubbed his shoulder gently, making the man shudder and stretch.
"What happened...?" He groaned and sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes. Mumbo couldn't look away, knowing that this was him from another universe. He had short blond hair and broad shoulders, just like Joe described. What startled Mumbo the most, however, was when the gentleman opened his crystal blue eyes, which pierced Mumbo to his core. "Do I know you?"
Mumbo blinked, realizing the man was talking to him. "Ah, sort of? I mean, yes, but also no-"
"This is the most bizarre dream..." The man shook his head.
"Well, no? This is real," Mumbo said with a small laugh, which made the man perk up. "I'm you, from another universe. This universe, in fact."
"That sounds like my laugh... and now that you mention it, you look like my Minecraft skin... Explain yourself?"
Mumbo perked up at the familiar name. "Yes! Minecraft! That's where we are right now, welcome!"
"I...." The man looked around, spotting X and Biffa, who waved happily from a distance. "Xisuma?"
"Hello Oliver!" X grinned.
The man, evidently Oliver, jumped. "How do you know my name? Am I really meeting Xisuma in real life right now?" He scrambled to his feet, sending Mumbo stumbling back as well.
"Have you never met my counterpart in your universe?" X's confusion and concern was palpable, but he shook his head quickly. "Sorry, let me answer your other questions. Your world is called Earth, as Joe informed us when he visited from your universe. This world is called Minecraft, and our small slice of chunks here is called Hermitcraft! I'm Xisumavoid, this is Biffa, and that is Mumbo Jumbo, your counterpart!"
Mumbo waved bashfully as Oliver stared intensely at him. "So that explains it I guess."
Mumbo blinked. "You're taking this surprisingly well?"
"You said Joe came here like I did, right? I'll play along for now, and I'll ask Joe when I get back. Oh, and call me Oli!"
"Well, now what? Would you like a tour?"
"Oh, I know my way around here, but I'd love to visit the shopping district in person!"
Xisuma and Biffa left the pair to themselves, and they chatted as they walked. Oli was entranced by the surroundings, but seemed to know who built everything.
"Oh! Has Sahara opened here yet?" Oli sped up as they rounded the corner, approaching Sahara.
"Yeah! It's only in Beta for obvious reasons, but it's open!" Mumbo proudly displayed the open doors, waving at Cleo, who was inside. "How's the shopping, Cleo?"
"Alright, but I need some help!" She laughed. "It says they received my order, but nothing's happening!"
Mumbo and Oli sighed in unison. "Grian..." Mumbo quickly set to work, breaking into the wall with Oli on his tail.
"Ah, it feels so good in here," Oli breathed in the cool cave air, smiling as they ran over the line of hoppers.
"Yeah! Redstone has a faint smell, and I live for it." Mumbo yelled over his shoulder.
They reached the warehouse, carefully checking every hopper for stray items until Oli stood triumphantly with a golden carrot in his hand. They returned to the storefront chatting cheerfully.
"All fixed up, your order will be here soon!" Mumbo declared proudly.
"Will it? Won't she need to order again since it didn't go through?" Oli countered.
"No- Well, maybe?" Mumbo sighed. "This is why we're in Beta.."
—another random snippet—
Grian rubbed his hands on his pants, smiling anxiously. "I think I'm ready!"
"Alright, everyone step back!" Xisuma commanded. The ring of hermits backed away, yelling their goodbyes.
"Take pictures!" Tango shouted.
"Don't worry, I will!" Grian chuckled.
"We'll miss you!" Zed sniffled, grabbing Tango's arm.
"We can only keep him there for three hours, so he'll be back soon," Biffa explained.
"Bye everyone!"
X and Biffa gripped hands tightly, sharing a glance before X pressed the button on the command block. The was a flash of light, and when everyone opened their eyes, Grian was gone.
—
Grian opened his eyes to a very different scene. He seemed to be in a small room with only a desk on the floor, and strange black zigzags covering the walls. On the desk were multiple computer monitors, and sitting at said desk was a young gentleman.
"The server kicked me? I'll have to call you back Mumbo, thanks anyway." The young man leaned back in his chair, still not noticing Grian standing in the back of the room.
Grian could only assume this person was him, from this dimension. It would make sense he would teleport here, and the man seemed to match Joe's description. Blond, wiry-
"Who are- What- How!?" The young man had spun around and spotted Grian, who froze like a deer in the headlights.
"Uhhh...."
The gentleman seemed ready to call for help, but hesitated, examining Grian further. "You look like my skin, how strange..."
Finally, Grian snapped out of his trance. "Yes! Skin like a game, right? Exactly, that's where I'm from! Xisuma sent me here to meet you!"
There was a strange mix of understanding and confusion on his face. "So, you're the Grian? How is that possible?" He rubbed the back of his neck- Grian noticed they had the same nervous fidgets.
"Xisuma and Biffa used a command block to send me here. They'll bring me back home in three hours!" Grian explained.
"Well! This certainly isn't how I expected to spend my afternoon! My name is Charles, welcome to my house I suppose!"
"Charles... That's a fun name! I suppose you already know mine, haha!"
"So, would you like a tour of my home? Maybe we can visit the city as well!" Charles stretched with a grin of excitement.
"Yes please! Can we visit someplace called Nashville Tennessee? That's where Joe lives!" Grian smiled proudly at his knowledge.
Charlie blinked. "Ah, Nashville is very far away from here, over an ocean. I'm not certain we can visit him."
"Can't we fly over?"
"There aren't elytra here, it's not that simple!" Charles laughed. "We can video call him, though? Shall we do that?"
"That sounds incredible! Can we call all the hermits? I want to see everyone!" Grian bounced with excitement, making Charlie laugh.
A quiet meow from the door caught the pair's attention. "Oh hello Pearl!" Charles picked up the silver cat, stroking her happily. "Grian, meet Pearl, one of my cats!"
Grian's eyes shimmered with joy. "You mean you have two angels??"
They spent nearly an hour fawning over Pearl and Maui, with Grian listening in awe as Charlie told story after story of Pearl climbing the sound foam and Maui sleeping on the keyboard.
Eventually they visited the market, but it was overwhelming for Grian, so they returned home quickly to call Joe.
"It's delightful to hear from you Grian, but why a video call- ah, there's two of you? And one-" Joe gasped with a smile. "Grian, is that you? From another dimension?"
Charles opened his mouth to explain, but Grian hopped in excitedly. "Yes! Do you remember me?"
"Of course, how could I forget the most exciting day of my life?"
"What are you two on about?" Charles piped up, confused.
"See, about two weeks ago, I was going to record with Cleo- okay but long story short, I ended up in Minecraft, but it was like a different dimension. That's when I met Grian here!"
"Yes! And that's how Xisuma and Biffa knew where to send me using the command block!"
"A command block, huh? I suppose they work differently in your world," Joe mused.
"Ah," Grian shuddered, gripping the desk. "That doesn't feel good." He winced.
"Has it already been three hours?" Charles frowned and helped Grian into the desk chair.
"Yeah, I- I gotta go. Thanks for everything, Charlie!" Grian grimaced and waved goodbye to Charles as he disappeared in a flash of light.
-This is all I wrote for Ren lmaoo-
"Me, me next!" Ren pleaded. "I've gotta know how hot I am!"
And that's all I got! This idea is soo fun but I just couldn't get a smooth plot line, so you get this mess instead!
I also couldn't decide if the hermits would come to Earth, or if their irl counterpart would go to Hermitcraft, so one of each!
Love you, my little stars!
