The void welcomes all (PLATONIC Ex and Xisuma)

Platonic brothers oneshot because yes
Also I'm working on requests I swear

Set in season eight

"Hello again, my axolotl friend."

Ex relaxed lazily on his throne, with piles of diamonds and DerpCoin surrounding him. His brother was doing so well, earning all this profit, just for him. Of course, Xisuma didn't mind. With all the brainwashing that the evil hermit had been doing, the admin was completely at his mercy.

Dropping an armful of diamonds into the ever-increasing pile, he glanced up at his brother, Xisuma's mindless smile and vacant eyes never fading. "All the payments that your shop has earned, the DerpCoin has been making more and more diamonds lately!"

"Yes, yes, but not enough." Ex said, standing up while studying a premium DerpCoin in the palm of his hand. The evil hermit smiled, dropping it into the pile as he turned towards his brother.

"We need more sales, and to do that, we need to expand our corrup— erm... Influence. Yes, our influence."

Standing blankly and obligingly, the admin didn't seem to catch the slip up in Ex's words. "Of course!" He blinked, the admin snapping back to attention as he heard his new commands.

"Perfect." Ex chuckled, handing Xisuma two light blue shulker boxes. "Hurry up and deliver these boxes of DerpCoin to the boatem village, make sure the shops accept DerpCoin as a form of currency."

"I haven't visited the boatem village before, I'll go right away!"

As his brother rushed out the door to fulfill his latest task, the evil hermit turned back to his throne, a smile creeping across his face behind his helmet. It was wonderful to have someone so willing to serve him, why hadn't Ex brainwashed Xisuma years ago?

If all of the hermits were this easy to control, it should be a breeze to take over the remainder of the server. Ex was taking his time with it all, however, he still wasn't sure if his brother was truly underneath his power.

Yawning, the evil hermit trudged up the steps to his throne. Brainwashing and manipulating his brother was hard work, which Ex hated, but it had to be done. At least Xisuma was doing all the building and physical work, which the admin's brother hated even more.

He shut his eyes, Ex having no need to fight his feelings of exhaustion. All he had to do was wait until his brother finished delivering the DerpCoins, so a shot nap wouldn't hurt..

Stepping into boatem, a feeling of dread and misery shot though Xisuma's body, something he hadn't felt for so long. He dropped the shulker boxes of DerpCoins, stumbling backwards as a headache began to overtake his thoughts.

'N-no..' The admin thought, struggling to steady his quivering legs. 'No, this can't be. No one can break through the bedrock in the overworld, no one should be able to expose the void!'

All of Ex's commands had been washed away within an instant, replaced by nothing but panic and horror in Xisuma's mind. He leaned against the obsidian of the nether portal, struggling to catch his breath as his chest began to tighten.

Dizziness began to ensue, as well as his vision beginning to turn blurry. He fought against it all he could, but the admin struggled to remain conscious. Something was pulling at his mind, trying to smother all thoughts and resistance.

Falling to his knees, it became more and more difficult to breathe. Xisuma knew that he needed to run, but his legs wouldn't listen. The void was trickling into his mind, breaking away the mind control that had been engraved into his thoughts.

For a very brief moment, the axolotl's mind had been freed. It had been so long since he had been able to think on his own, to be able to make his own decisions without Ex controlling him. And yet, the little freedom he had was suddenly torn away once more, as darkness began to fill his thoughts.

His eyes began to fill with black, darker than the void, overtaking everything in Xisuma's mind. Things were turning blurry, a fog of confusion beginning to rest over his thoughts. The void was ripping him apart, just being near it was enough to cause the admin to lose himself.

Each slow breath became labored and difficult, making it harder and harder to inhale as his lungs began to burn. The crushing weight of darkness began to take a toll, eliminating what little resistance remained in the back of his head.

He passed out onto the grass, as the darkness of the void took hold.

Impulse was wandering through the boatem village, carrying a shulker box filled with blocks and materials out of his starter base. He was planning on doing some work on the factory, though the redstoner's attention was drawn to the man standing on the edge of the boatem hole.

"Be careful there, X!" He called in warning, only receiving silence in response. Xisuma didn't even speak, his arms dangling at his side as he stared down at the void. Impulse raised an eyebrow, something seeming wrong with the admin's behavior.

His back was facing the member of the boatem village, Xisuma's body slightly swaying from left to right as he stared down into the void. Impulse set down the shulker box, before placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Xisuma? Are you okay?"

"Oh, I'm wonderful." He spoke with a longing sigh, the admin unable to pull his eyes away from the void. Chuckling underneath his breath, Xisuma's lips curled into a smile.

He glanced to Impulse, who shivered slightly upon seeing the admin's eyes, which were completely overtaken by darkness, not even a sliver of light. "I was just admiring the void, it's stunning."

"O-oh... Erm, I guess.." The redstoner stuttered nervously, unsure what to say as Xisuma went back to gazing at the void.

After a long silence, Impulse cleared his throat, which failed to pull the admin's attention away from the hole.

"Are...are you sick, X? Maybe I should get you back to your base.."

"Nono, I'm right where I need to be." He insisted, Xisuma slowly taking off his helmet and dropping it onto the grass. A bit of hair fell into his face, but he wasn't bothered enough to push it away.

Next thing he did was take off his elytra, discarding it carelessly to the side. "All I want to do is.... Embrace it. It's been so long since I've been welcomed by the void."

"Xisuma, buddy, you're sounding a bit crazy..." Impulse said nervously, though the admin didn't listen. He smiled, stepping closer to the edge, letting out a sigh of pleasure as he did so.

"It just feel so wonderful." He said longingly, further increasing the member of boatem's worry. "It feels incredible to be so close to the void again. I can't wait to get even closer."

Before Impulse could speak up, Xisuma walked off the edge, willingly falling into the void. Reacting immediately, the redstoner opened his elytra and dove after him.

"Oh, you're joining me? That's wonderful, Impulse!" The admin asked happily as Impulse managed to grab his armor, the two falling past bedrock as he reached for a rocket.

The pressure began to crush Impulse's lungs, a cold darkness rushing down his spine as he pulled the string to try and fly out of the void with Xisuma. The admin saw what he was trying to do, grabbing apart of his elytra and ripping it off.

"XISUMA? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He yelled in a panic, though Xisuma calm smile never faded as he felt the void embrace him.

"Just accept the void, Impulse. She has been so lonely, but since you broke through the bedrock, we can bring more hermits to her! We'll all feel her love and embrace!"

Impulse couldn't argue, since he couldn't catch his breath. He tried to fight the sleepy feeling of death that had began to creep into the back of his mind, but it was no use. They were too far gone now.

<ImpulseSV fell into the void>

The notification on his communicator woke Ex, causing the evil hermit to let out a groggy groan as he blinked himself awake. Reaching into his pocket, he quickly scanned over the notification, before his eyes widened with horror.

Ex stood up to run out of his tower, but a glitch of purple appeared in the center of the room, Xisuma teleporting with a smile across his face. With no helmet on, it was easy to see his void-black eyes, filled with no light or emotion. His smile, however, was crazed and filled with insanity.

"Brother!" He called cheerfully while straightening his posture. "I really must thank you."

"X-Xisuma, what are y—"

"That brainwashing of yours. It really helped the void and I reconnected, she's missed us." He stated, smiling at his brother with a bit of his chestnut hair falling into his face.

"My mind was weak and susceptible thanks to you. Now, I'm finally back where I belong. And this time, I can bring the hermits with us! They'll learn to love the void as much as we do!"

"Xisuma, snap out of it." His brother growled harshly. "The void is dangerous, it messes with your mind and emotions. Come on, let's go and get you fixed up before it makes you go even more insane.."

As he spoke, his words turned softer and more genuine. Ex could almost see a glint of light return to his brother's eyes, the evil hermit outstretching his hand. Xisuma paused, hesitating as he thought.

He took his brother's hand, but before Ex could speak, Xisuma teleported him and his brother out of the tower and into the boatem village.

The evil hermit stumbled backwards from the sudden teleportation, finding himself on the edge of the boatem hole. He could a small bit of the void's influence beginning to slip in the back of his mind, but Ex fought with it.

"I love you, dear brother." He said calmly. "But I want to help you reconnect with the void. You and I can be siblings again, true siblings. All of hermitcraft can be our family, Impulse has already joined us!"

That caught Ex's attention. "What did you do to him?!"

Xisuma smiled. "I brought him to the void, and she accepted him. I bet he's out now searching for more hermits to join our little family."

"We're not a family! Not when you're like this! Xisuma the void is controlling you again!"

"I'm in full control of myself, brother. I don't know what you mean."

"You know EXACTLY what I mean! We need to seal up the void before it's control becomes permanent!"

Xisuma smiled kindly, cocking his head to the side. "You know I won't let you do that~" he said with a sing-song voice, slowly approaching Ex to force him closer and closer to the edge.

"I'll see you on the other side, brother."

And with that, Xisuma shoved his sibling into the void.

I've never actually written a platonic ship oneshot before, so I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing. Hopefully you all enjoyed this oneshot, because it was a lot of fun to make it. Comment what ships or platonic ships you would like to see next on the request chapter!
