It isn't that good of a description in the chapter but I want all of you to feel safe while reading :)

3rd Person POV

A harmless trip to the nether couldn't of gone more wrong.

Iskall and Mumbo had decided to go to the nether and ended up in a fortress. At this point in season 9, no one had gone there and farms were yet to be set up. As they were killing the blazes, a wither skeleton spawned behind Mumbo.

"MUMBO LOOK OUT!" Iskall shouted, but it was too late.

Iskall killed the skeleton and then checked on his boyfriend. He was fine besides a large cut on the side of his arm that was withered. Iskall quickly picked him up and rushed him back to the over world to be met by Stress who took the two to her teapot to help Mumbo.

~Time Skip~

Iskall POV

At this point, it had been an hour since we had gotten back. The entire server was now waiting to see if our friend was okay. Stress came out with some news.

"...Mumbo's... not okay," she whispered.
"The wither effect will... k- kill him in a week."

To say everyone in the room was devastated would be an understatement. I felt like crying but Xisuma put an arm on my shoulder to try and calm me down.

"He'll respawn... right?" Grian asked, not wanting the answer. Stress sadly shook her head.

Narrator POV (its the same thing as 3rd person. SUE ME)

For the first few day, no one was allowed to visit Mumbo. Mainly because he was in bad shape but he was also unconscious for the most part.

On the fourth day, most of the Hermits visited Mumbo. They talked to him and tried to make him feel better but in the end, they had to say goodbye.

On the fifth day, Mumbo was in unbearable pain. Because of this, Stress allowed no one in and tried to help her friend as his body began to wither away.

On the sixth day, Stress knew that people had to say goodbye so she allowed visitors. Scar and Grian visited Mumbo. They shared a few sad laughs but it was really hard for all of them. In the end they too had to say goodbye for the last time.

On the seventh day, Mumbo was on edge. He knew his life was counting down hours but he hadn't seen his lover yet. He was beginning to accept his fate when Iskall walked in.

(I can't write dialogue now no time)

They had a sad conversation and cried a lot.
Iskall planted a kiss on his boyfriend's forehead as he closed his eyes for the last time.

Iskall didn't want to check his pulse. He sat there for another hour mourning his lover's death. Not able to bear the sadness he went home to his base. He pulled out his sword and took his last breath before ending it.
