Firstly I just want to say ,sorry this took me so long to write! And sorry if this isn't exactly what you wanted ! I do hope ya like it ^^ ,anywho lovelies I am proud of how this came out and proud of myself for actually doing a requested oneshot ^^ ,tbh I hardly write Grumbo as its overally shipped but ngl S8 got me back into the ship xD ,anyway I made this angstier then it needed to be ,hope y'all have a good day/night!

Grian huffed slightly as he finished stocking up and gathering payments from his train, the small male stretched his arms, humming softly at the satisfying pop his joints made, letting out another hum, the male looked around gazing at his friends or well business partners bases, hes gaze lingered over at a certain friends base, he frowned slightly, as he looked at his best friends base, his wings drooping sadly.

It had been like 2 weeks since he properly talked to his friend, yes he did see Mumbo at their boatem pole ( Is that how you spell it??) meeting, but sadly he only managed to have a brief conversation with the male, and then he was back to ignoring Grian, the hybrids not sure what he did to the other to make him mad at him, but whatever he did, he knows he has to make it up to his “friend”.

Grian let out a sad sigh, he was about to turn away but then he noticed the familiar suit wearing male, walking out of his base, Grian couldn’t help but look the male over, noticing how nervous the male looked, what normally wouldn’t be as unusual, as Mumbo tends to get nervous at the littlest things, but this...this seemed different.

The small male, hide in his train, hoping the mustache male wouldn’t notice him. Grian kept looking over at Mumbo, before deciding on something, he decided to follow the male, he wanted to know what on earth is wrong with the male and why is he ignoring him, the gremlin was just so frustrated by the way the other has been acting, so with that ,the hybrid decided to sneakily follow the other, he made sure to be a couple of steps behind the other, just so he wouldn’t be able to notice him.

It was almost sunrise, by the time Mumbo decided to finally stop, Grian couldn’t help but let out a quiet pant, hoping the others wouldn't hear him. Looking around the tree he was hidden behind, Grian had realized Mumbo had stopped in front of some type of cave? Is this where Mumbo has been hiding all this time? Why this far out...so many questions ran through Grians mind, and none of them had any answers.

Grian watched as the taller male, walked through the entrance of the cave, and Grian of course, followed him in.

Grian couldn’t help but let out a loud gasp when he made his way behind the other, in turn startling the other, Grian blinked as Mumbo quickly spun around looking at him with wide eyes, but to be honest, he was hardly paying attention, he was more fascinated with gazing over at the secluded paradise, this place was so beautiful, from the luscious trees, to the beautiful flowers, adorable axolotl and a beautiful pond in the middle.

A soft call of his name, made Grian realize why he was actually here, his eyes instantly snapped back to the ebony haired male, and Grian face grew red at the soft look the other was giving him.

“Grian? What are you doing here? “ Mambo questioned the flustered male

Grian’s face grew even redder, at realizing he blew his cover by making a noise

“Uh well you see…. I uh followed you here?” Grian mumbled out , rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly

Mumbo’s own face grew red, and he smile grew and his eyes sparkled

“Y-you followed me? W-why?”

Grian blinked at that , and he couldn’t help but let out a sigh, knowing he’ll finally have to confess how he's been feeling

“Well...i just… i wanted to know why you’ve been ignoring me...like i know we sometimes talk but most times you just seem to avoid me, even if we do talk it’s only breath...i missed you mumbo”
Grian looked down slightly, mumbling the last part, hoping the other wouldn’t hear him.

Mumbo's smile fell slightly, he gently placed his hand upon Grian’s shoulder, making the other snap his head up, looking at the hand and then at Mumbo, he couldn’t help but shudder at the look the other was giving him, he felt his own from deepen, at the saddened and nervous look Mumbo was giving him.

“Mumbo… do you hate me?” Grian mumbled out once more

Mumbo let out a gasp, instantly shaking his head

“ of course not! Goodness no!! I could never hate you! No matter what you do, honestly I didn't mean to ignore you! I didn’t realize I was avoiding you...it wasn’t on purpose I promise!

He….oh gosh Mumbo was such a spoon, Grian couldn’t help but chuckle slightly, smiling in relief,

“You're such a spoon Mumbo,if you weren’t ignoring….then what have you been doing? Why have you been hiding away here?” Grian spoke softly

Mumbo face turnt even redder than before, mumbling nervously

“What was that?” Grian asked curiously

“I-- I said i was doing something for you…”

Grian face turnt redder than  his jumper, his wings puffing up slightly

“F-for m-me” Grian managed to squeak out

Mumbo smiled, nodding

“ Yeah I found this place some time ago, and thought it was absolutely beautiful and I wanted to take you here….as I wanted to show the most beautiful place to the most beautiful person I know “

Mumbo responded happily,

Grian's face was beyond red,his thoughts  were spiralling, he couldn’t believe Mumbo did this for him, and called him beautiful!

“I-I uh thank you?” he shyly responded

Mumbo's smile grew

“Of course hun...so i did have something planned out and i don’t need to invite you now, as you're already here….so i was wondering if you would want to ...go on a date? Like right now? I have enough food for both of us, so would you like to have a picnic date?” Mambo managed to rush out, cheeks burning , smile was bright

Grian just nodded in response, smiling brightly, he let Mumbo drag him over near the pond, where a picnic setup was, he wondered how long Mumbo had planned this out.

Both males sat opposite each other, talking and eating some delicious snacks, they both were just enjoying themselves, happy to be in each other's company once again.

By the end of their lunch, Grian was honestly exhausted, after all the overwhelming emotions and exhausting walk, of course he’d be tired.

With a yawn Grian moved over to sit beside Mumbo, resting his head upon Mumbos shoulder, Mumbo smiled slightly patting Grian’s dirty blonde, smile growing as Grian nuzzled his head into him, sighing softly.

“Tired?” Mambo whispered quietly, asto not disturb the mood

Grian hummed slightly

“Y-Yeah”

Grian yawned once more

Mumbo gave one last smile, before deciding to move Grian, he chuckled at the wines Grian was making, he just held Grian taking him to his chest as he laid down.

“Better”

Grian nodded in response, nuzzling his red face into Mumbo’s chest, Grian Mumbled slightly.

“What was that?” Mumbo questioned

Grian raised his head slightly, looking deeply into Mumbo’s red eyes

“I love you”

The winged male rushed out , burying his head back into Mumbos chest once more, hiding his flustered face.

Mumbo laughed slightly, but not a malicious laugh, a kind one. Mumbo gently ran his fingers through Grian’s hair, his other hand rubbing in between Grian’s wings, knowing that's his soft spot .

“I ...I love you too Grian, I love you so much”

Grian smiled into Mumbo’s chest, snuggling in deeper, smiling as Mumbo continued giving his wings a massage, all of it was slowly making him tired, more tired than before, yawning slightly, he let his eyes fall shut.

Both knew, they’ll probably need to discuss what they are eventually, but for now both were just contente laying in each other's arms, in their new Secret paradise.
