this is an older AU of mine and if you know who mine-sara-sp is on tumblr uh no, this is not based off their shadow AU i didn't even know it existed when i made this

i really liked my old shadow AU (seems like ya'll did too) but i wasn't happy with like most of characters so here's to "im remaking their designs and most of the characters" *clinks glass*

-so everyone in this AU has kinda sentient shadows who's personalities are based off what their player fears/hates; they also have names that a) start with the same letter as their player and b) are some kinda negative word

-to players that can see shadows, they normally look like silhouettes of their players with eyes that are all one solid color (red, lime green, yellow, etc) and they have all white mouths; to other shadows, shadows look like dark grayed out versions of their players with the same solid colored eyes and sometimes other stuff (vines, tattered clothes, etc)

-shadows basically feed their players negative thoughts and self-depreciation and though the players can't really see/hear them, it's more like the shadows are that little voice in the back of your head telling you everything you're doing wrong

-the more negative secrets a player hides from others, the taller their shadow is (yes this does some shadows are taller/shorter than their players); players with good anger outlets and such have smaller shadows then let's say, Grian or Cub

-oh also shadows have claw-like hands cuz i said so

-here's a fun game: guess what everyone's fears/hates are based off their shadow's personalities

-Mumbo's shadow is Malice and basically an exaggerated Hermitcraft Challenges!Mumbo (so he's a bit crazy); solid red eyes and vines/overgrowth on him; also he's very twitchy and always mumbling to himself

-False's shadow is also called False but since her full name is Falsesympathy most shadows call her Sympathy (ironically); solid yellow eyes and tattered clothes and her goggles' glass is broken; lazy, blunt, and overall apathetic towards everyone and everything

-Zed's shadow is still named Zero because the name works but he has a different personality; solid violet eyes and constantly is in "scary mode" aka he has the black patch over his right eye; nosy, suspicious, never willing to lend a hand, and will scream at you if you deny to tell him something

-oh and btw, shadows can have the same colored eyes but that doesn't mean anything (mainly i don't have that many colors hdkjfskhffgjdlfas)

-Impulse's shadow is Intercept and he's still a sweet lad; solid yellow eyes; nervous, people-pleaser, instantly crumbles under pressure, one of the more passive shadows (that gets picked on by the othershdkjsldjfhkjd), surprisingly one of the taller shadows

-Ren's shadow is Rift and you already know i fucking love him; solid red eyes and his wolf ears are always flattened and his tail is usually wrapped around his leg; very anxious about what other people think of him, people-pleaser, hates physical touch, petrified of Doc/Doc's shadow, one of the taller shadows, i love him okay?

-Doc's shadow is Danger because fuck Daze's name it's terrible; solid green eyes and electricity constantly sparks around him; hyper aggressive towards most except Keralis' shadow, seems to hate everything, tensions have gone down with BDub's shadow but they're still there, one of the smallest shadows

-Tango's shadow is Trap and he's a little shit; solid orange eyes and bits of flame always swirl around his horns and tail; petty, gets angry over the smallest things, fucking loud like please stop yelling sir, the smallest shadow on the server

-Grian's shadow is still named Game because i like that it implies either a game like a video game or game meat (tough stringy meat); solid purple eyes and in a Taurtis outfit along with the headphones and overgrowth/vines on him; scared of Mumbo's shadow, acts like Taurtis and is therefore one of the more passive shadows, a very negative/dark humor kinda guy, on the taller side

-Iskall's shadow is Isolate but some shadows just call him Isole; solid lime green eyes and slightly oversized clothes; puts minimal effort into everything, sarcastic, an asshole to Game, sorry i just watched the pilot episode for Hazbin Hotel and it was amazing hgjkhbkfdgjsfald

-Cleo's shadow is Calamity because honestly Chaos just wasn't working for her; solid green eyes and ragged/more tattered clothes and very messy and tangly hair (aka she looks a little insane); has a love of water/swimming/fish, drawn to particle effects and shiny stuff, easily distracted and flighty, one of the smaller shadows

-Stress' shadow is Screech and i honestly forget what her old name was hdkjfsgsdfjfkdl; solid pink eyes and frazzled hair and withering flowers/broken flower crown; frustrated with everyone, easily tempered, strict, controlling, on the taller side

-Hazbin Hotel has given me better ideas for designs hjdfkfsljdgfdksf (Hazbin Hotel is quite dark and vulgar btw if you wanna check it out, it's animated and hella good (hehe puns))

-Scar's shadow is still named Spite since i like his name; solid green eyes and vines wrap around his hat and claws/hands; overshares, clings to Game constantly and refuses to go anywhere without him/someone else, bitter, spiteful as his name suggests, despises Cub's shadow, one of the tallest shadows

-Cub's shadow is still called Corrupt cuz i like it a lot; solid orange eyes and his claws/hands/feet looked they're made of sand and dripping sand; drama bitch, very threatening to anyone who won't cooperate with him, very very diligent/persistent, one of the tallest shadows

-Joe's shadow is still called Joke since it works; solid blue eyes and a seemingly permanent shit-eating grin; jokerster, never takes thing seriously, dark humor, pesters others to their limit on purpose, i fucking love him fight me-

-Xisuma's shadow is still named Xyresic because i refuse to try and find another fucking negative word that starts with "x" hgkfjdlfjdkshbfjfls; solid lime green eyes with one them looking like traditional matrix code with a black background and messy hair; snappy, hates BDubs and Doc's shadows, heavily protective of Keralis' shadow, seems to hate everyone and sticks to himself, one of the tallest shadows

-Keralis' shadow is Killer because Kooky just was not cutting it; solid yellow eyes; fucking mean for god's sake, hates loud noises, breaks up arguments the only way he knows how which is just yelling at them to shut up and shoving them apart

-BDubs' shadow is still called Bleak cuz it works; solid red eyes and tattered clothes along with vines on his arms/claw-hands; drawn to the jungle and plants in general, still holds a grudge against Doc's shadow, insensitive, one of the smallest shadows

-Jevin's shadow is Jade, after the word jaded; solid cyan eyes and his slime always seems to dripping; protective, critical of others, sticks up for other shadows and then proceeds to insult them when they thank him, hopes beyond hope that Wels' shadow will come back, on the taller side

-Etho's shadow is Error (im slowly getting used to Etho's voice lol); solid white eyes and ice and vines on his hands; selective mute, distant, keeps to himself, cryptid, sorry but i literally know shit about Etho-

-Beef's shadow is Bellicose though most call him Bell; anxiety ridden, distant, people pleaser, easily overwhelmed, i also know shit about Beef-

-WAIT WHY DOES BEEF HAVE A BELT LIKE MUMBO??? HELLO LORE??????

-bruh xB's shader pack is so nice but also what kinda beefy-ass computer does he have to handle shaders on the goddamn hermitcraft server-

-xB's shadow is Xeric but most call him Xer (pronounced "zair"); solid yellow eyes and messy hair; nervous, focuses on the negative, easily panicked, over thinker, his skin reminds me so much Ssundee hgkjdfldsjhgdkf

-Hypno doesn't have a shadow is mildly concerning to xB who can see shadows

yes i've made Hypno some kinda eldritch being in my headcanons, please forgive me hkjlasfkshgjd him and Stress are literally the strongest magic users on the server

i definitely didn't make some really gory backstory for Iskall's weird eyepatch thingy, robotic arm, and Mumbo's crystal thingy that definitely doesn't tread into tony stark territory why are you asking-
