Death tolls
Some death tolls (read 'AFKing is not Sleeping's author's notes for what these are. Oh, and yes, they don't last forever... Just for like... A couple days- around a week at most),
All death tolls have an effect on the body that always happens, and an effect that only sometimes happens (aside from potions).
The ones that only sometimes happen are usually just as annoying as the ones that always do, if not more. They're stated with 'also known to' (which may or may not imply that these aren't the ooonly additional effects you could get...).
————————————————————
Burning: Makes you have super sensitive skin, which also makes you very sensitive to any temperature changes.
Also known to sometimes give an instant fever, or start heat early (especially if you're any type of hybrid).
Drowning: Tiredness/ sleepiness is increased because it makes your body feel heavier. You usually have about fifteen-thirty minutes of awareness to collect your stuff (or tell someone else to) before you fall into a deep sleep.
Also known to give an instant cold and make you quite thirsty.
Starvation: Makes you weaker, slower and have less stamina. You will be more likely to injure yourself again.
Also known to make you grumpy and crave a wider range of food (so it's super great when it's that time of the month).
Suffocation: Makes you have super claustrophobia and sometimes need to breath in and out a load randomly (asthma? But random?).
Also known to make you talk so fast you stumble over your words.
Fall damage: Makes you want to sleep for no reason more, but doesn't let you sleep well (you'll keep tossing and turning and stuff) and makes you lose your footing more (clumsy. A few like blaming clumsy moments on this).
Also known to make you more scared and get hay fever (if it ain't pollen season, then just makes you sneeze (and have those symptoms) more anyway).
Kinetic energy: Causes slight delay in sensory awareness (you see, hear, feel, taste and smell stuff later than you usually do) and makes you more prone to motion sickness.
Also known to give temporary loss of smell or clumsiness, especially in air.
Going off in a bang: Causes either temporary blindness (to an extent- it works in the same way as a blindness potion), or temporary deafness (again, to an extent- when you hear something, you get a load of ringing noises in your ears instead of actual sound).
Also known to cause both at once.
Compression (mob squishing): Shortage of breath and any sounds having a sort of echoey-effect.
Also known to cause slight unease when around whichever mob it was.
Crushed by anvil: Causes you to be distracted more, feel the need to always have something above your head and have headaches.
Also known to make you more aloof or get a concussion.
Cacti: Causes antisocial behaviour, aversion to any sort of physical contact and more thirst than usual.
Also known to make you more likely to charge into fights before asking questions.
Withered away: Causes sickness/ nausea, and more prone to physical agression/ attack.
Also known to make you more reckless and have temporary memory loss.
By mob: Certain mobs MAY cause certain tolls (not guaranteed), but all of them always cause you to be way more alert. This can either be a good or bad thing, because the alertness doesn't stop when you go to sleep.
(All of the following tolls by mobs are less bad than if by what they usually are (eg. sensitive skin from burning is a lot more... Well, sensitive than from a spider) with the exception of the enderdragon, who's memory loss is as severe as withering away).
If by some sort of zombie, you'll be hungrier.
If by some sort of skeleton, you'll be slower.
If by creeper, you'll be more... Explosive. More so if it was a charged creeper.
If by enderman, you'll be more nervous.
If by some sort of spider, you'll have pretty sensitive skin.
If by silverfish/ endermite, you'll feel the need to be in the dark more.
If by wolf, you'll have more wolfish-instincts (eg. growling is a thing. If you're a hybrid, then whatever animal you're a hybrid of's instincts will be intensified. Eg. creepers gonna hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss...)
If by witch, you'll be more hyper.
If by iron golem/ snow golem, you'll feel the need to do more.
If by phantom, you'll be sleepier. Someone, after gaining the witch's toll, thought it'd be a smart idea to be intentionally killed by a phantom to stop it. Want me to write about it?
If by slime/ magma cube, you'll be thirstier (either drinking fluid, or the feeling of fluid on your skin will soothe this need).
If by ghast, your temperature will constantly change from hot to cold.
If by zombie pigman, you'll be more clingy/ protective.
If by blaze, you'll be hotter. No I mean... Physically hot, boiling, roasting...
If by polar bear, you'll be colder. No, I mean... Physically colder, freezing, chilled...
If by guardian, you'll have more headaches.
If by pufferfish, you'll be more... Pouty. Not exactly annoyed, or flustered, just kinda... In between.
If by shulker, you'll fidget and feel the need to move more.
If by wither, whatever the effect of your next death will be enhanced... By a lot.
If by enderdragon, you'll be crueler. Like, evil. Also always known to make you forget the person you love the most for a while.
(I think that's every mob that can kill you... Aside from llamas and dolphins because they're neutral I guess. Also cus...
1) A death by llama spit just sounds... Ok, really funny but it ain't DEATH-LIKE enough, y'know? Maybe it'll make you more petty and salty tho.
2) Death by dolphin? Can they even kill you? They're a neutral mob so I guess, but look at them! They so... COOL! And cute! And happy!)
By potion: Only two negative potion effects have specific death tolls. For example, if you die by jumping off a cliff with jump boost, you'll get only the fall damage toll. If you die with weakness from the hands of another, no death toll is added on with weakness.
However, with the two potions that do, their death tolls will be ADDED ON to whatever death toll you also get. For example, if you die by burning with a poison potion on you, you'll get BOTH the burning death toll and the poison death toll working on you at once.
It is also important to note that, to combat the harsh punishment of having to deal with two death tolls, potion death tolls always have a chance of NOT WORKING. There's a chance that the death toll will not apply, which unfortunately also means many do not know these death tolls exist.
If by poison, you'll be sick and not feel like eating. Has a 50% chance of not working.
If by harming, you'll have pains wherever you were killed (eg. if you were stabbed in the back, you'd have back pains). Has a 70% chance of not working.
Special: The special deaths are void damage (falling out of the world), /kill command (or command block), death by another player, being smashed by the admin hammer or... A method involving a few button-presses on a certain someone's C.P.S.T.
Since thy cannot be accessed normally, they really don't give any death tolls or effects.
Aside from frustration at your own stupidity, or extreme salt for whoever killed you of course.

Author's notes
And here we have the death tolls! Now, some of these are obviously gonna lead on to new plots and stories, and it's just a page more me to refer back to when they begin. Y'all can even borrow some, so long as you let me know where to read your story!
I just came up with most of these by thinking about what bad things are usually linked to these deaths. You get a cold from drowning, and when you're underwater, you feel sorta heavier so I included those in there.
The 'special deaths' don't really have much of an effect because
1) You can't access them normally.
2) Some happen in creative worlds, or maps, or special servers etc. which wouldn't exactly make sense for a death toll to be involved in.
3) Things like 'death by another player' or 'falling out of the void' are things that are supposed to happen in games accessed from hubs like Hypixel. So are admins dutifully whacking hackers out with admin hammers. It would affect how hubs and player maps and mini-games flow if death tolls were constantly involved.
So yah. Oh, and I guess I should mention permanent death revival won't cause any death tolls at all, because that sort of stuff is included again in 'special death' (well... Special death revival, but you get the point).
EDIT: Shoutout to @Lucy_The_Llamacorn for the cacti death toll, and @wickitywackity for the llama spit one lol. THANK CHU SENPAIS!
