A lot of hermits had phobias and even more had slightly less major fears, they learned recently that Ren had Astraphobia (Fear of thunderstorms) and that Doc was afraid of cats. Most of the hermits actually had at least one phobia but didn't tell anyone because of personal reasons, Bdubs was one of them.

Bdubs had a phobia called "Autophobia", also called "Monophobia". This is the intense fear of being alone, he didn't know how he got it, as long as he can remember he always needed to be near someone, the idea of being away from people and being on his own terrified him to bits.

But he couldn't tell anyone, they would make fun of him, they might even hate him and leave him... Alone... Without anybody to care....

Bdubs looked up, he was standing in the shopping district outside of The Barge, he looked all around him to notice that nobody was there.

It's okay Bdubs, just breath. Bdubs thought to himself, noticing his breathing becoming a bit irregular. He decided to hop into The Barge to see if there was anything of interest, both the sand and gravel chests were completely empty as well as most of the grass and dirt blocks, in fact, the only thing that was really in stock were the netherite tools. He's probably getting stuff to restock right now... Bdubs thought to himself.

He started to listen to the sounds around him, that was his first mistake, everything was silent, nobody was around to make any noise, Bdubs felt his breathing become more stressed.

He grabbed his rockets and started to fly around the shopping district, hoping, praying there was someone there, that was his second mistake. Nobody was there, his breathing became stiffer.

He called out to see if anyone, anybody, anything could hear him, that was his third mistake. Nobody replied, Bdubs was completely utterly alone, his breathing became very irregular and he had to land back over by the barge to stop himself from passing out. He curled up into a ball and started to cry, his wet, hot tears ran down his red cheeks and onto his shirt, he pulled his knees up and buried his face in his arms. After about five minutes of crying, his breathing got even worse, he could barely even get a small breath in. Panic erupted through his body and he started to shake violently. He tried to breath, any amount of breath, but to no avail.

He was done for. He gave up trying to breathe. He closed his eyes and waited for death to take him....

....

...

..

.

      But it never did.

Suddenly, he felt a pair of skinny arms wrap around his shaking body. He lifted his head up from his knees to see a familiar pair of crystal blue eyes and sandy blond hair.

      "Gri..an.....?"

"That's right, it's okay, I'm here..." Grian whispered into Bdub's ear as he slowly buried his head into Grian's neck and fully embraced the hug, which proved difficult as Grian was several inches shorter than Bdubs.

"Are... Are you real..?" Bdubs muttered, tears still running down his face and landing on Grian's red sweater.

"Yes, and I'm not going to leave you, okay? You're safe here."

     "Thank you......"

They ended up just sitting there for a while, enjoying the warmth and even just simply the idea that they knew each other were there. Eventually however, the silence had to end.

      "Bdubs?"

     "Yes?"

"Do you happen to have Autophobia?" Grian asked, his tone as comforting and understanding as possible. This question surprised Bdubs, the answer was yes, but how did Grian know? A lucky guess?

"Yes.... Ho- how did you know?" Bdubs admitted reluctantly. He hoped Grian wouldn't leave, he really didn't want to be alone again...

Grian smiled warmly, the excitement and joy that normally radiated off of him was gone and was replaced with calm and understanding. "I myself have Autophobia..."

"You do!?" Bdubs said, surprised. Although I guess it did make a bit of sense to him as every time he had seen Grian, he had been with somebody else. "Your.. like me...." He mumbled to himself, almost to0 quiet for Grian to hear.

"Mhm..." Grian's eyes seem to fog over as he got lost in a memory. Then he shook his head to clear himself of the thought had took his arms away from around Bdubs. "Do you want me to walk you back to your base?"

"Actually, could we hang out here for a bit longer?"

Grian smiled and helped Bdubs stand up before dragging him over into The Barge. "Here, you can help me restock!" The corners of Bdub's mouth lifted up as he let out a sigh of relief as well as maybe, a small smile.

He had found somebody. Somebody that cared. Somebody like him...
