(P.s. this is set in a college AU, and Evil X[aka Xeres in this fic] is nonbianary)

"Hels! Come here, I want you to meet someone!"

The voice of Hels' twin brother jolted him out of his thoughts, and Hels looked up to see Wels poking his head into the room with a grin. "Xisuma finally convinced his sibling to come over! I think you'll like them!"

"Fine." Hels sighed, getting up from his chair and following his brother to the living room. The brunette could care less about Xisuma's sibling, as he didn't like people much and preferred to keep to himself.

Speaking of Xisuma, the British man was sitting on their couch next to someone who Hels hadn't met before. "Oh! You actually got him to come down! Hels, this is Xeres, my sibling. Xeres, this is Hels, Wels' twin brother." Xisuma stood up, introducing the white-haired person to Hels.

"I would say it's nice to meet you but I don't want to lie." Xeres looked up at Hels, a bit surprised to see a smirk on his face.

"Likewise. If that's all you wanted from me, I'm gonna go back to my room." Hels gave a small wave and went back up the stairs, flopping onto his bed with a groan.

"Is he always like that?" Xeres asked, looking at the other two with a raised eyebrow. Wels sighed softly, nodding.

"Yeah. Hels doesn't like people much, sorry." The blonde shrugged, sitting down in a nearby chair. "Well, I don't like people much either. 'Suma nearly had to drag me here." Xeres chuckled softly. Their brother elbowed them gently, rolling his eyes.

"Thats why I thought you two would get along. His room is the one with the dark red door, if you wanna go see if he'll talk to you." Wels gestured to the stairs. "My only real warning, don't talk about soulmate stuff. Hels is ace/aro so he wants nothing to do with any of that."

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind." Xeres nodded as they stood up. The white-haired brit went up the stairs, quickly seeing the dark red door that led to Hels' room and knocking on it a few times.

"What do you want."

"You don't like people, I don't like people, why don't we hang out and not like people together?"

The door opened, and Hels leaned against the frame with his arms crossed. "You wanna hang out with me?" Xeres nodded. "Fine. Come on in. I've got some video games if you wanna play." Hels gestured to his gaming area, several different consoles connected to a good-sized TV.

"Neat! You got Smash Bros?" The brunette nodded at this and grabbed the game, putting it into the proper place and grabbing two controllers. Handing one to Xeres, he sat down in a beanbag and gestured for the enby to get the other one and sit down.

A few hours later, Xeres had won the majority of the games, a grin on their face as they looked over at a scowling Hels. "How the fuck did you win so many?" The brunette ran a hand through his hair, sighing as he looked at the screen that once again displayed "Player 2 WINS!"

"I play against Xisuma a lot." Xeres shrugged. "You must only fight against the bots, your moves were predictable."

"Well it's not my fault that Wels doesn't play video games often. Hell, the only reason I have two controllers for my Switch is cause it came with them." The American got up, setting his controller down and stretching.

Xeres did the same, groaning softly. "What do we wanna do now?" They asked, looking over at Hels with one eyebrow raised.

"I dunno. What do two socially awkward young adults do when they get bored with video games and their brothers are being annoyingly chatty?" Hels flopped backwards onto his bed, looking up at the ceiling with a sigh.

"No clue. I guess we could talk." Xeres sat down on the edge of the bed and looked over at Hels.

"Talk? What do you think I am, a regular guy with social skills?"

They both laughed at that, Hels sitting up and sitting cross-legged on the bed. "Well, I know nothing about you. What's your favorite color?" The white-haired brit smiled at Hels, the latter thinking for a moment before responding.

"Red. Not like, a bright red, more like... I dunno how to describe it but a darker red that's still fairly vibrant and rich. What about you?"

"Hmm, a reddish-purple. Not like, maroon or anything just like.. between red and purple on the color scale. Favorite food?"

The two went back and forth with questions, soon learning quite a lot about each other.

Hels liked spicy foods, he fenced for fun as a side hobby, and was studying history at the local college.

Xeres liked more savory foods, they volunteered at an animal shelter in the city, and were studying psychology in the hopes of helping people in mental asylums.

And neither of them had found their soulmate yet, however both of their brothers had.

"I don't really have an interest in finding my soulmate, I actually identify as aro/ace since I just can't seem to feel any attraction to anyone. Plus it's just not really important to me." Hels had laid down on his back during their talk, and had his hands behind his head as a sort of pillow.

"Huh. I kinda feel the same, I just don't feel like I'm ready to hop into a relationship with someone as soon as I meet them cause we're supposed to be soulmates." Xeres sighed.

"Makes sense. I mean, if I did meet whoever is my soulmate then yeah I'd want to be friends with them and get to know them, but definitely not jump straight into a relationship." Hels looked over at Xeres with a smile.

The two sat and talked for a while, not really noticing how time was passing around them. At one point, Xeres started to yawn, causing Hels to start yawning too. Since Hels had a fairly large bed, both Hels and Xeres decided to take a nap, one on each side of the mattress.

Some time during the night- as it had turned to night while the two were talking- Xeres ended up cuddling Hels, the brunette tucked into their chest and comfortably in their arms as the two slept. Neither noticed the string that formed, connecting them together and binding them as soulmates.

Groggy, Hels opened his eyes to see the same gray of the shirt that Xeres had been wearing earlier. He tried to get up, surprised to be met with resistance, and when he realized that the two of them were cuddling, he froze.

Shifting as slowly as possible as to not wake Xeres, Hels extracted himself from their arms, only noticing the bright red string once he had sat up.

"What the-" the brunette trailed off, eyes following the string to where it ended, tied to Xeres' wrist.

Just then, the white-haired brit woke up, yawning and cracking open their eyes only so see a very surprised Hels.

"Hels? What happ-" their voice abruptly stopped as their own gaze landed on the string, and their eyes went wide before flicking up to meet Hels' gaze.

"Xeres... I think we're soulmates." Hels almost whispered the words, getting a slow nod in response from Xeres.

"Y-yeah. Yeah I think we are." Xeres sat up, holding out their hand to look at the string that connected the two of them. Hels was unsure of what to do, simply staring at the bright red thread.

Eventually, the two decided to just cuddle, as neither of them felt ready to kiss and make the string dissapear, and both were still tired as well. They did end up spooning, Hels as the little spoon with Xeres holding him close.

A few hours later...

"Xeres? Hels? You two oka-" Xisuma cut himself off upon opening the door to Hels' room, his eyes going wide as he saw the two cuddled up on the bed.

"Wels come here! You have to see this-" the brunette whispered, prompting Wels to poke his head into the room.

Gasping softly, the blonde pulled back, shutting the door and grinning at Xisuma. "Let's leave them be, they looked very happy to be sleeping together." Wels gently tugged Xisuma back downstairs, almost immediately calling his boyfriend Jevin to spill the news.

Between it being my senior year and me being involved in not only tech for this fall's school musical, I also have an acting part in it so I have been super busy at rehearsals and building the set pieces! Either way, finally got a request out! I forgot who asked for this I'm sorry T-T
