Body Swap - Wels and Hels

Helsknight's POV

Groaning, I sat up from where I had fallen to the floor. I rubbed my head through my helmet as I opened my eyes, freezing when I saw wooden floors, chests stacked against a wall, and a cat walking over to me.

I didn't have a cat.

Nor did I live in the overworld, use overworld blocks in my builds, or have such a neat living space.

Yeah, I'm messy. But that's beside the point!

Standing up and using the wall for support, I looked around the space I was in, trying to figure out where in Hels I was.

Knocking at the door startled me, and I looked towards the spruce door with fear as I frantically thought of what to do.

"Wels? You home? I know you wanted to talk to me about building some sort of dock or whatever, you free to do that now?"

That was a Hermit.

Wait.

Why did they say Wels?

Looking down at myself, my eyes widened as I realized I wasn't in my own dark armor but instead my twin brother's lighter armor.

Shit.

"Wels? Huh, guess he's not home." The Hermit's voice faded as they walked away from the door, the sound of a rocket going off signaled their departure.

"What the hell why am I in Wels' armor- why do I sound like him?! Oh no-" I cut myself off and ran to find a mirror or a clean window, looking at myself in horror as I realized...

I'm in Wels' body.

Pulling up my-no, his- communicator, I looked for our private chat, finding it and quickly reviewing what we had talked about last.

Steeling myself and sitting on a bed nearby, I typed out a message to.. myself? Wels? Either way I messaged my communicator via Wels' communicator.

<Welsknight> hello?

<Helsknight> I hope to God that you're Hels cause I'm not

<Welsknight> Yeah I'm Hels

<Welsknight> Are you in a cave-base in the nether? Crimson planks for the floor, blackstone furnaces in one corner?

<Helsknight> And a few striders in a little lava pool in a side room? Yep

<Welsknight> I'm on my way there

I grabbed Wels' elytra and put them on, grabbing rockets and running into the nether before flying into the red fog towards where I had made my base.

Soon I landed outside my front door and walked in, being greeted by my body pacing back and forth with my helmet on a random chest.

"Hels?"

"Yeah that's me. Well, you're me now but I'm also still me but now I'm you- God this is confusing-" I took off Wels' helmet and ran a hand through my- his? hair as I sit down on a furnace.

"Yeah, this is very confusing. Any idea why we've swapped bodies? Cause I have zero clue." Wels sat beside me, looking over at me with my own blood-red eyes.

"Not a clue either. How can we fix this?"

"I dunno. Maybe message Xisuma? He's the admin so he may be able-"

I cut him off quickly. "No! No we are not going to contact the admin! I don't know about you but I don't wanna get banned!"

"Hels he won't ban you! You've literally done nothing since season 7, and it's season 9 now! He has no reason to ban you, especially if I vouch for you. You may be the embodiment of all my negative thoughts and evil intentions, but you're still my brother." Wels got up and stood in front of me, putting his hands on my shoulders as he looked me straight in the eyes.

"You dont know that! Besides, I haven't been inactive since season 7. I was around last season too. Remember the Evil Empire? Yeah, EX asked me to influence you however I could to get you to join." I quieted down towards the end of my small rant, looking away. "I didn't want to, but he blackmailed me into doing it."

"I don't blame you. It was okay, I had fun in the Evil Empire." Wels hugged me, bringing tears to my eyes as I hugged back.

We ended up just hugging for a while, me quietly crying into his shoulder while he held me.

"Its gonna be okay Hels. We just need to fix this, alright? I'm gonna message X with my communicator so he can try and fix this." I handed Wels his communicator, nodding.

He types some things into it and it buzzes a few times with responses, Wels putting it down after sending one last message.

"Alright. X is on his way. I had to give him the coords to here so he could find us but he knows that this isn't your fault." Wels smiled at me. I smiled back, and we waited for Xisuma to show up.

The sound of someone landing less than perfectly announced the arrival of the server Admin. "Wels?" A British voice could be heard as Wels got up and opened the door.

"Hey X. In here." Wels brought X into the small base, going back to stand beside me.

"Hels..? What's going on?" X looked at Wels, who was in my body, and then looked over at me. "Wels, what's going on?"

"First things first. I'm Hels. That's Wels. We got body swapped somehow and have no clue what to do." I say, jerking a thumb at my brother.

"Wh- okay, this is confusing. So, you're Wels and you're Hels now?" The armored admin looked confused as he pointed first to Wels and then to me.

"Yep." I nod.

"Alright." Xisuma sighed. "I can probably swap you two back. Just..." He trailed off as he opened up some sort of half-transparent window in front of him, apparently looking through through code to fix whatever had happened.

"Aaand... that should do it!" Xisuma's voice faded out and back in as my vision went black, suddenly I was on my feet and stumbling forwards as Wels and I swapped back into our own bodies.

Speaking of Wels, I could hear him groan softly as he stood up from where he had fallen during the swap.

"Yes! I'm me again!" I exclaimed, looking down at myself to see my own dark armor and the paler, more grayish skin tone that I had acquired over the years.

"Thanks, X." Wels smiled.

"No problem. Uhh, just try to stay out of trouble, okay Hels? I've personally never seen you do anything really bad so I won't ban you or anything, but just try to stay low and not cause any issues?" The Hermitcraft admin looked at me with a smile, surprising me as I hesitantly nodded.

"I quite like it out here, I doubt I'll have a reason to do anything to the server."

With that, X flew off, leaving me and my brother alone in my base.

"So uhh.. I guess I better be leaving." Wels turned to me as he picked up his helmet. "B-"

I cut him off with a hug, surprising both of us as I did.

"Bye, Wels." I said as I let go of him. He smiled back, waving goodbye before flying off in the same direction that Xisuma had and leaving me alone once again.
