concept-Chaos with builders and redstoners.

I'm being driven NUTS by the 'Your story has insights to unlock!' thing.

Third Person

Wels watched his apprentice clumsily lift a sword, immediately falling over thanks to the weight.

Who on earth thought it was a good idea to apprentice this kid to a knight?

He was short, not very strong, only interested in architecture, and is the most timid person Wels had ever met.

So that's why he was planning to help the kid fake his own death.

This kid was not made to be a knight, but something else, and great as well. His intelligence is higher then most, and Wels had figured out that he is planning to fake his own death.

He's gonna help him fake his death.

The kid fell into the stream after falling, and was just sitting there, sopping wet.

Sighing, Wels walked over and helped him out.

"Come on kid. We're going hunting."

His apprentices eyes lit up. This is what they were going to use to fake his death, a simple hunting accident. A regular thing that happened to inexperienced hunters.

They both saddled and mounted their houses, heading into the woods.

The horses pranced outwards, making their way to where they would be tied up until their owners came back.

They swiftly reached the hitching post, were someone had wisely made it were the horses could go no farther.

Dismounting, the two talked while heading into the forest. Wels wasn't wearing his armor, but a leather set made for agility instead. His apprentice wore the same.

The two headed towards the ravine, chatting about deer and sorts.

They finally reached the edge, and his apprentice sighed.

"So... this is the last time I'll see you?"

Wels placed a hand on his shoulder, turning his apprentice to look at him. "Hopefully not. Just... use those wing things that you made. Be free, and remember the cords I gave you. You should find a old time friend of mine, just tell him I sent you."

Tearfully, the kid nodded and pulled the wings (Elytra, he called them.) out of his sack and pulled them on.

On a satchel on his side was a ton of fireworks, the kid never specified why he needed them, but Wels complied.

The kid jumped, the wings spreading and catching the wind. He began gliding, and Wels watched him, starting to worry that he would just glide to the bottom of the ravine and stay there.

Then the firework went off. And the kid shot up like a bullet, cheering.

"It works!!"

Wels watched in amazement as the kid glided over the top of the trees, the metal of his wings glinting in the afternoon sun.

This is the last time Wels saw him for the next five years.

Iskall rushed through the market, dragging the older and weary Doc behind him.

"Come on! There's a bunch of redstone experts here today!"

Doc scoffed, trying to keep up with his apprentice "Like I'm not?"

His 17 year old apprentice laughed, stopping for a moment. "These guys cause lag thanks to the efficiency of their farms!"

"Well I-" Doc paused. He wasn't into farms. Better to drop the subject.

Iskall grabbed Doc by the arm again, and managed to pull Doc to the area and get some decent seats before it started.

Doc fell asleep half way into the conference. Iskall hung onto every word that the redstoners said.

Iskall also didn't mind his mentor was sleeping, he knew Doc needed sleep, he had been working on the glitchy portal that had appeared in the backyard.

However much Iskall insisted he needed sleep, he kept working.

When the conference was over, they were the last people sitting there, because Iskall was letting Doc sleep on his own time.

As he sat there, drawing redstone ideas and designs, someone said curiously "Whatcha still doing here?"

Iskall looked up. And inhaled sharply. It was the youngest redstoner at 19 in the group he had just listened to, named Mumbo.

Right next to Mumbo stood Xisuma, one of the older people in the group and Mumbo's mentor. He had many professions, and redstone was just one of the many.

After a moment, Iskall gathered himself and motioned towards Doc, passed out next to him.

"My mentor needs sleep, so I'm just going to let him sleep."

Xisuma stated, his mask hiding any expression. "Huh. Doc isn't the type to go sleep deprived."

It took a couple seconds for what Xisuma said to click. "You... know Doc?" Instantly, Xisuma started laughing.

"'Course I do-we were apprenticed to the same guy."

Mumbo was grinning, finding this interaction hilarious.

"Anyways, what is it thats causing him to skip sleeping?"

Iskall tensed, looking at his notebook. "Er... not something I want anyone overhearing. It's... the project is nicknamed 'Infinity Portal.'"

The interest level from the other two redstoners spiked. Xisuma stated, his eyes barely visible, and clearly glittering with interest. "Well, we'll just chill here with you until Doc wakes up then."

They ended up chatting about the designs in Iskall's notebook, helping him with pointing out flaws and sorts.

The sun was setting when Doc stirred.

"Mhmmm... Is the conference over-X?" Seeing Xisumas startled him, and he shot up in his chair.

"Yep. Good to see you creeper."

Doc grinned, eyes on his fellow redstoner "It's been awhile! What have you been up to?"

X waved his hand "Eh, here and there, made a couple groundbreaking machines, got a apprentice... You?"

The cyborg-creeper sighed "Nothing compared to you. I've been making self-designed redstone though. A trident farm, a system meant to rocket a minecart, and others."

X smirked "Can I drop by with Mumbo here? I'm curious to see what's been keeping you up at night."

Doc shrugged "fine by me, just a warning, a builder and his apprentice are dropping by tonight. Come on Iskall."

Swinging to his feet, Doc began walking towards the exit. Xisuma mumbled something about being as blunt as ever, and dragged Mumbo along as they followed Iskall and Doc.

Two hours later, the group stopped their horses, put them in the barn, and headed into the house.

First thing they noticed was two guys lounging on the couch. Well, they were both playing go-fish, very aggressively at that, but we don't talk about that.

Within second, Iskall was on the ground after the shorter of the two tackled him. Speaking of short, the two that had been playing go-fish were both under average.

"Iskalllllllll!"

"Get-get off of me Grian!"

"Noooo-wait, Mumbo?"

Mumbo then was trying to get Grian off his leg "I-you weren't this clingy last time I saw you!"

While this chaos went down, Scar hugged Xisuma and Doc, and joining them in laughing their brains out at their apprentices insanity.

Mumbo finally managed to peel the 16 year old off his leg, and the group calmed down. Walking into the kitchen, Doc just gave everyone chips and water, explaining that "Last time Iskall or I tried to cook, the kitchen went up in flames".

In the morning, while X and Doc quietly talked about the portal in the kitchen, Scar called for them.

"Guys... come here into the living room, but keep quiet."

Confused, they walked in.

They were greeted by Mumbo, Iskall and Grian all tangled up on the couch.

Grian's cat ears were barely visible from under a blanket, and he had Iskall's head on his back, Mumbo was halfway off the couch with Iskall's legs on his chest and his own legs on the top of the couch.

Scar took a picture and gave copies to Doc and X for blackmail purposes/memories.

I... Didn't really have a goal for this.

Tell me about any typos if you see one...
