Fake Love (Kerdubs)

I- so this is Wii Sports Resort AU

It was an accident, I swear (T^T)

I needed a name for the resort and Wuhu Island was all I could think of (In case you didn't know, Wii Sports Resort AU is exactly how it sounds and was created by Casuallyy)

"Bubbles we have to go here!" Keralis gushed as he practically tackled Bdubs on the couch. Closing in on personal space, he held up his phone in between the two of them, revealing a website. Laughing at his friend's energy, Bdubs took the phone to scroll through the resort.

"I don't know, it's kinda pricey," he pointed out, handing the wide-eyed brunette his phone back. Keralis sat back and the freckled male finally felt like he could breathe. It's not that he had a problem with his childhood friend being so close to him, in fact far from it. As his heart began to calm down, he scolded himself. For years he'd been pining for his friend, but never dared to say a word. To an outside eye looking in, it would look like Keralis liked him. Constantly cuddling with him, calling him a pet name, and playing with his hair, but that didn't mean anything. Bdubs realized that his crush was like this with everyone and had to constantly remind himself that he wasn't special.

"Yeah but look at how great the deals are!" he was snapped out of his daze when the brunette leaned on his shoulder, showing him his phone again.

"Keralis, that's for couples only," Bdubs blushed, zooming in.

"Well, we're pretty close! Pretending to be a couple shouldn't be too hard, right?" he grinned, nudging his arm.

Can I do this? He worried as an arrow of pain pierced his heart. This must be the universe's way of punishing me for never saying anything. Then again, you could say something now and go on vacation as a real couple!

"Bubbles? You don't need to think that hard about it," Keralis laughed. Taking a deep breath, Bdubs opened his mouth. If he could only push the words out, then everything would be fine.

But instead, he backed out, and let a half-fake smile take place.

"Why not?" he shrugged.

"And we're here! Welcome to Wuhu Island!" the taller brunette exclaimed. He shook Bdubs' arm in amazement as they looked around.

"And here is your room key," the receptionist smiled, handing it over to the shorter brunette. "Have a nice stay!"

"C'mon babe," Keralis grinned. He took his fake boyfriend by the hand and gave him a quick peck on the cheek before guiding him to the elevator.

Bdubs' heart jumped, even though he knew his friend didn't mean it. He smiled to himself as they stepped into the elevator, hitting the button to take them to the proper floor.

When they entered their room, the freckled brunette was reminded of a small detail that he somehow managed to forget. There's only one bed. It was fairly big, so Bdubs assumed they'd end up falling asleep on opposite sides.

After all, that was the plan.

But when Bdubs woke up around five in the morning, he was suddenly very aware of a pair of harms holding him close. A shiver flew down his spine as Keralis sleepily nuzzled his back. Feeling a stupid grin form on his face, he closed his eyes. A part of him wished they could stay here forever as he drifted off again.

When Keralis woke up, he smiled to himself. He did feel a little embarrassed for holding Bdubs like this, but his friend was warm, and something about it was comforting to him. But when his fake boyfriend stirred, his heart jumped. A part of him wondered what would happen if he didn't let go. If the smaller brunette woke up in his arms.

Instead, he acted like a coward and sat up just as Bdubs woke up.

A part of him was sad to no longer feel Keralis' warm embrace, but brushed it off, telling himself, I told you it meant nothing.

"Mornin' darling," the wide-eyed brunette grinned, leaning over and ruffling his hair.

The two had found themselves watching a table tennis match that morning between a tall brunette in a wizard cap and a bald man with a grey beard. Bdubs found it hard to pay attention, as he was painfully aware of the fact that Keralis was holding his hand.

"Hey Bubbles, the guy with the beard is pretty cute, isn't he?" the taller brunette leaned over, whispering with a playful smile.

His heart cracked as he was once again reminded that Keralis didn't share the same feelings for him.

"Yeah, I guess he kinda is," he said with a fake smile.

Once the match was over, a part of Keralis felt a little down when he watched as the bearded man walked over to his opponent and gave him a congratulatory kiss. He was honestly surprised how fast he got over it. It was probably because he didn't even know the guy.

Or maybe it had to do with the fact that he and Bdubs decided to go wakeboarding, and he got to see his friend's gorgeous bare chest.

"You okay?" Bdubs giggled as he helped Keralis onto the boat. "That was a pretty bad wipeout," the other brunette grinned, his cheeks tinted pink.

"Yeah, I'm good. That was a lot of fun!" getting up on the boat, the two brunettes stood with only a few inches separating them. Something inside of Keralis was urging him to close the gap. To kiss him and hold him tight. Why do I keep getting these embarrassing thoughts? Do I really see Bubbles that way? And if I do, he probably only sees me as a close friend. He thought bitterly as he sat down in the boat.

Heart still racing from being so close to his crush's face, Bdubs had just enough courage to plop down right next to him. Giving himself the excuse that he was feeling tired, the freckled male leaned his head on his friend's shoulder. When Keralis laced his fingers with him, a small crack from his heart healed.

Thoughts raced through Bdubs' head as they made their way back to the hotel, Keralis never letting go of his hand. Truth be told, the taller brunette didn't even realize he was still holding it. The only reason he finally let go was that he needed to shower.

That night, the paler brunette found it hard to fall asleep. He just stared at Bdubs' sleeping face, his heart and mind racing. I always knew he was cute, but I never realized just how cute he really was. A lock of brown hair fell in Bdubs's face. Reaching over, Keralis brushed it away but didn't move his hand. Instead, he brought it down to his cheek, rubbing it with his thumb. Pulling his hand back, he scooched just a little closer to his Bubbles and closed his eyes.

"Golf seems like a nice way to start the day, right?" he thought out loud as they headed for the golf course the next morning.

Boy was he wrong.

"Are you kidding me?!" Bdubs yelled out of frustration. He gave the golf ball the lightest tap and it still passed the hole despite the fact he was this close to it. "This has got to be rigged!" he huffed, crossing his arms.

"Looks like you're gonna lose, Bubbles," the other boy teased. He smiled as his fake boyfriend failed yet again to get the ball in. "You do remember we said the loser pays for lunch, right?" he laughed.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," he muttered before finally getting the ball in. "Finally," he sighed. Throwing an arm over his shoulder, Keralis hummed to himself as they made their way to the next hole.

"Two more to go," he grinned.

"C'mon Bdubs, final hole! If you're lucky you can make this," he told himself. Yes, he knew that it didn't matter how well he did here because he had too many points to stand a chance. He just wanted to do good at one hole. For his dignity.

One hit.

It made it pretty far, covered most of the ground.

Second hit.

"Well, would ya look at that!" Bdubs beamed. He did a little dance, feeling proud of himself as the ball fell into the hole.

"Great job! But sadly, not good enough," Keralis patted his back, shaking his head. "I still win!"

"And just when I started getting good," he jokingly whined.

"You know what? I change my mind about the winning prize," the wide-eyed brunette tapped his chin.

"Hey, you can't do that!" Bdubs protested. "That's gotta be against the rules!"

"Doesn't matter, I'm the winner I can do what I want,"

Pouting, the shorter male placed his hands on his hips.

"Fine, name your price," he said, trying to seem annoyed when in reality he found Keralis' teasing to be quite charming.

His heart began to pound as he realized what he was about to ask for. Am I really gonna say this? What if he says no, or if he finds it uncomfortable? What if he finds the idea gross? Though it was too late for Keralis to change his mind, as he already let the words slip out.

"Kiss me," he said with a smirk, tapping his lip.

Bdubs' eyes went wide. Is he making fun of me? Does he know I like him and is messing with me? He began to worry. No, Keralis isn't that kind of person.

"You don't have to if you-" Keralis started, immediately regretting putting him on the spot.

"Okay," Bdubs whispered, blushing.

"'Okay' as in yes you'll do it or-"

Cupping his face, the shorter brunette reached up and kissed him softly, catching him off guard. When the freckled brunette pulled away, the paler male immediately wrapped his arms around him, hugging him tightly.

"I think I've fallen for you, Bdubs," Keralis whispered, blushing.

Any cracks that were still on his heart disappeared as the tan male blushed. He clung onto the love of his life and blinked back tears.

"I've been in love with you for a long time," he quietly admitted.

The pale brunette pulled back, his hands on Bdubs' shoulders.

"Really?" he asked, his eyes sparkling.

Smiling, the boy in front of him nodded. Realizing how stupid he was for worrying, Keralis grinned and pressed his forehead against the freckled male's.

"What do you say we stop faking this relationship and make it real?" he suggested, lifting Bdubs chin.

"I'd like that," he murmured, eyes sparkling.

With his other hand on the smaller brunette's waist, Keralis held him close and kissed him.

After another long day of exploring the island, the two boyfriends were ready to crash. Crawling into bed, Bdubs cuddled up to the taller brunette's chest. Tilting his head up, he gave him a kiss goodnight. The paler male wrapped an arm around him and kissed him again.

Keralis smiled as he could feel Bdubs' body rising and falling steadily. Kissing his sleeping boyfriend on the head, he could feel sleep weighing him down, telling him to close his eyes.

When he fell asleep that night, he knew for a fact that the rest of their little vacation was going to be a lot of fun.

I blame Saph for this lol
