Loalade (Part 1)

Welcome to a Bdoc chapter about Loalade! This literally took three days to write and only wanted it to be one part but it has to be two. Otherwise ya'll would have to read 4000ish words in one chapter.

More importantly, if you don't know what Loalade is, it's basically this disease that blossoms off of someone thinking their love is unrequited. It's sorta like hanahaki, but with a lot more symptoms and done more creativity. It was made by @Bumblie_ on Instagram.

There are 4 different types, all with 3 stages. I'll add the images I used for reference at the end of this one.

Warnings:
-Loalade virus
-Vomiting pink liquid
-Giant pink blisters
-Bug that transfers virus

If I missed any, please let me know and I will add it immediately!

~3rd POV~

Bdubs was never one for roughing it out in nature by himself. Sure, he relatively loved the outdoors and the peacefulness of the midday sun shining out on his quiet field of flowers and little river house; but the jungle was a completely different story.

An entirely different story.

Everything was just such a bright green, Bdubs didn't like it everywhere. It was hot, sticky, humid, and despite being in the safe shade of the massive canopy overhead he could still feel the heat of the sun on his back. Plus everything was loud with all the birds and insects

Oh boy, the insects.

He hated it. He hated it with such a burning passion and the last time he left he promised himself he would never ever ever go back. The last time he was in a jungle, he felt like he could never leave even if he wanted. But no, here he was. Willing back.

See, as much as Bdubs hated the jungle, he really needed vines. But no matter how badly he needed vines, he was still afraid. He kept to the underside of the several megabases that we're all smooshed together far too close. He constantly looked behind himself to make sure at least one other jungle hermit was in his sight.

He went about his business, gathering the materials he needed quickly so he could leave. The mosquitoes doubled with his fear were driving him to the brink of just leaving and never coming back. There was a small voice in his head begging for him to just leave, but it was overshadowed by his need to prove to himself that he was being irrational; He knew he wasn't.

Bdubs swatted away every bit of overhanging green leaves that flew into his face, with a grumpy pout. He let go of a branch as he passed under it and it swung right back at him, smacking him square in the face.

"Ow!" He whined, wiping the slowly forming and unwanted tears from his eyes. He wasn't bleeding, but it definitely left a scratch. He sighed, stumbling over another tree root as he looked down at his hand.

A little bug had perched on the back of his wrist, which he was about to swat away, before he was thrown off.

The bug was a bright pink and had a perfect heart shape on its back. Bdubs had never seen anything like it. The bug was about as big as a nickel.

Bdubs stopped for a moment to admire it, before it suddenly bit him. Bdubs jerked his hand towards his chest. It was just a twinge, but Bdubs sighed anyway.

"Why does everything in this jungle want to kill me?!"

The bug was gone as quickly as it appeared.

The next day, Bdubs found himself back at his half of the mansion. He didn't know why, he had just kind of flown over. This just happened to be where his elytra had taken him. He landed not so gracefully on the ledge of the pool, and fell in.

Bdubs resurfaced and pouted, clinging to the smooth stone ledge like a lifeline. Great. He thought. Now I'm all wet.

But his negative thoughts ceased as he heard the sound of laughter. He locked eyes with Doc, who was sitting on his side of the porch. Bdubs hadn't seen him before and a heat bubbled up to his cheeks. Now that the fence was down and Mount Goatmore was rebuilt, Doc had witnessed Bdubs' fall.

"Hey!" Bdubs snapped, lifting himself up and out of the water. "What do you think you're laughing at?"

Doc coughed and settled down a bit before responding. "Hello to you too, neighbor. Have a nice swim?"

Bdubs gasped, turning away in mock anger. "I could've drowned!" He threw the comment over his shoulder in a serious manner, but he couldn't stop the embarrassment from leaking out through his tone. Doc let out one last faint giggle and Bdubs stormed into the basement of his mansion half.

The heat in his cheeks practically evaporated the water off of his face. Something was bubbling up inside his chest that he barely understood.

Doc made him feel...happy. Even when they were fighting. He took a deep breath before pushing the fluttering feeling in his chest back down. Bdubs couldn't tell Doc about this, he didn't want to make their relationship awkward if Doc didn't return his feelings.

Maybe Bdubs did know why he came back to the mansion.

Night fell quickly, too fast for Bdubs to fly back home. No big deal, he could just sleep here and head back to his place in the morning. Bdubs flopped down onto the beautiful cyan bedsheets of his bed and prepared for sleep, but nothing happened.

Normally, he would pass out as soon as his head hit the pillow. But tonight? No such luck. The sun had already since set, but Bdubs just didn't feel tired like usual. If anything, he had more energy in him than he did before. He shook his head, closing his eyes and tried forcing sleep to come to him, but it became harder to grasp the harder he tried. The more he ran, the further it got from him.

Clambering to his feet, Bdubs figured he just needed to tire himself out. But as he stood, his legs wobbled and he nearly collapsed. The floor moved in waves under his feet and his legs were reduced to nothing but jelly. He sat back down on his bed and put a shaking hand over his heart. It beat rapidly and excessively. His breath came to him in shallow pants that he had no control over.

After a moment of forcing deeper breaths into his lungs, Bdubs stood up and made his way to the stairs. As the night sky came into his vision, his foot caught on the top step and he stumbled, nailing his chin onto the very edge of his mansion half. Bdubs didn't even flinch.

He shakily got back to his feet and looked around in the thick blanket of darkness. He didn't like it. He couldn't really see anything and knew he should be sleeping. Instead, he stumbled into his kitchen.

"Bdubs? What are you doing up man?"

Bdubs turned from the fridge door to look behind him at the creeper hybrid. The butterflies in his stomach from earlier returned and he quickly turned back around.

"I can't sleep. Was just warming up some milk."

Bdubs shakily got a cup out and tried his best not to spill milk everywhere as he poured it. He worked under the watchful eye of Doc and shoved the cup into the microwave. After a moment of silence between the two, Bdubs finally spoke up. "What do you want? Don't you have projects to be working on?"

Instead of responding right away, Doc grabbed Bdubs by the wrist and just looked at him. There was a cloud of confusion dusted on his green face and he looked to be deep in thought.

"You want to let me in on whatever you're thinking? Or would you rather take a picture? Because that'll last longer."

"No- what's wrong with your eyes? They look pink, are you okay?"

Bdubs scoffed and turned back to the microwave as it went off. It's beep was loud in his ears and sliced right through the silence. Nonchalantly, he reached for the pack of cookies in his pantry.

"Mhm," Bdubs nodded dismissively and started to put a cookie in his mouth, but stopped and just set them down on the counter to save for later. He wasn't as hungry as he thought he would be.

"Wait stop I'm serious," Doc started and reached for his neighbors wrist again.

Bdubs stopped in his tracks as a wide smile overtook his features. He let his cup of milk drop to the ground without a second thought and turned to look at Doc, a giggle escaping his lips.

"What's so funny?" Doc asked as Bdubs' giggles escalated to a full on laugh attack. He gripped the front of Doc's shirt and slowly fell to the ground, wheezing for breath.

"I cant-" Bdubs coughed as another laugh escaped him. "You're so tall!"

Doc laughed along with him, but more in a confused way. "Why is that so funny now?"

"You're so tall!" Bdubs repeated, curling up into a ball on the floor and trying to catch his breath. Every time he calmed down, he just started laughing again. After a moment, they started sounding somewhat forced.

"Okay, let's get you into bed for the night," Doc leaned down and wrapped his arms around his neighbor's now milk soaked torso. Bdubs gave no response and let himself be carried. "I'm going to take you to my side of the mansion so I can watch you better, is that okay?"

Doc got no response, but he assumed it was okay.

Just as he was past the pool, Bdubs started shifting and wrapped his arms around Doc's neck. Doc almost tripped over Bdubs' feet, which were now dangling right where he was trying to walk.

"B, this isn't going to work."

Bdubs giggled in response, letting his head rest on Doc's shoulder. "You're like a climbing thingy."

Doc sighed, awkwardly grabbing Bdubs' legs and wrapping them around his own waist. Bdubs put up no objection and they continued on walking.

"Don't feel good," Bdubs remarked after a second and he started kicking to get away from Doc. The Goat dropped him and held a hand to his stomach.

"Get to the grass if you're going to-" Doc started, but it was too late. He watched in horror as a bright pink liquid came out of Bdubs' mouth and spilled all over the floor of his side of the mansion. It looked more like pink slime than anything else, and Doc had to hold back the urge to vomit himself.

Bdubs did nothing but laugh when he finished, rolling onto his side. The pink substance was still stuck to his face. "I don't feel good," He said again.

"Woah woah- what the hell?" Doc gasped as he grabbed onto Bdubs' arm, pulling him away. "That's not normal, we have to call someone. B, what did you do?"

"You're very strong," Bdubs remarked.

"Get up off the floor, I'm calling for help."

Doc helped Bdubs up and set him down in the grass. Then he pulled his communicator out from his pocket and typed out a message in chat.

Docm77: Smethinmg hasened to Bdubsland i don't know whaat Is anyone up i need help?

Honestly, Doc didn't know what to expect. He knew it was an ungodly hour of the morning, but someone was bound to respond, right?

TangoTek: How do you not know what happened??

Docm77: He's sikc or somthign

TangoTek: Then give him some cold medicine? If it's that bad just ask X in the morning he's probably asleep.

Doc sighed. Well that was not helpful in the slightest.

Either way, asking Xisuma in the morning was probably his best bet. As the server's admin he would probably know what was happening. Right?

"Bdubs, let's get you into bed for now, alright? I'll call Xisuma over here in the morning to check you out."

Bdubs snorted in response, once again giving no objection to Doc picking him up and carrying him. His stomach began swaying again and he closed his eyes. He jumped when his front side collided with something soft.

"Just go to sleep for now, okay?"

"Not sleepy," Bdubs mumbled, haphazardly turning over onto his back. He started staring at something, probably just into space.

"Just try and get some rest, close your eyes and lay down still. Just don't get up and go anywhere." Doc went toward the edge of the mansion half, getting ready to jump before a cry came out from behind him.

"Don't go!" Bdubs whined, reaching out for the creeper hybrid. He fell face first off the bed and collided with the floor. "Don't go, you make me so happy…" despite having just fallen, his words were laced with more laughter, as well as something else Doc couldn't see because the smaller male had yet to lift his face from the ground.

The Goat precariously sat down next to Bdubs, and helped him sit up properly. The iris' of his eyes had grown a brighter pink and were now shaped like hearts. Despite Bdubs looking overall happy and laughing, silent tears streaked down his face like rainfall.

"Hey, hey, don't cry. What's the matter?"

" 'm so happy."

Bdubs let out a loud sob and leaned forward, planting his face onto the taller males chest. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

Doc put a hand on the smaller males chin, bringing him up to face him. He wanted to wipe his tears away and tell him everything would be fine, but Doc was met with a sight that almost made him scream.

Not only had Bdubs puked that bright pink liquid all over the front of his shirt while he was lying down, but there was also some sort of blister colored the same shade of pink on Bdubs' neck.

"Ah fuck- Bdubs, what happened?"

Upon further inspection, the blisters were beginning to appear all over Bdubs. His neck, arms, Doc could even see a couple smallish one's poking out from under his neighbor's shorts. Most were about as big as Docs own hand and he was afraid they would burst. Despite how painful they looked, Bdubs kept his madman grin plastered on his features and did not falter in the slightest.

"Look, whatever this is, I don't think it can wait until morning for Xisuma to look at," Doc pinched the bridge of his nose, getting up and also helping his neighbor to his feet. Bdubs stumbled, falling back into Doc's arms. Carefully, the goat set Bdubs back down on his bed. "I'm going to go get him and drag him over here even if it means he'll be here in pajamas."

"Can I go?" Bdubs words came out practically as a whisper.

Doc paused before he turned to face his neighbor. "You have to stay here. Me and X will come to you. Can I trust you to stay right here while I'm gone?"

Bdubs didn't respond, instead letting himself fall backwards onto the bed. After a moment of silence, the loud sound of fireworks went off. Doc had left him.

Bdubs wanted to stand, but he couldn't. His head felt too fuzzy and his legs felt like jello. Every thought that passed his brain, passed by way too fast for him to be able to focus on one. Everything was just disorienting and spinning and Bdubs felt like he was going to pass out from the loudness.

But all at once, his world stopped on a certain thought.

Doc was bringing help.
