It was the early winter of 2012 and it started with a call from a close friend of Biffa's.

Biffa answered it, who even called him at the middle of midnight? Let alone, why would any of his friends be calling him? Biffa was somewhat of an exaggerated person, spending most of his time playing on the virtual game, Minecraft. Whatever, it was one phone call and nothing was going to bother him.

Ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Biffa!"

Immediately, he recognised the voice that was sending through his cellphone. It was one of his friends, Generik. Biffa knew him through Mindcrack, which was a popular online series where members are trapped into a world and well, had fun together. Generik wanted his own twist, having been inspired by of course, Mindcrack.

Biffa was on the couch, watching another one of those old British shows they showed at midnight (Biffa was disappointed that Star Trek wasn't playing). "Why did you call me so suddenly?"
"Oh," Generik started, slightly chuckling. "I've started up a new world and one of those server companies offered me a free whitelisted server for me to try out."

The British fella nodded, turning off the television with the remote. "Basically, you want me to join?"

"You've been good friends with some of the people I'm about to add in so I thought you might want to join in." Generik stated, there was a slight cut out due to the poor signal but Biffa could still be able to make out.

Biffa had been playing Minecraft for at least over a year now, so having this offer being given to him by Generik, a member of Mindcrack was treasure.

He nodded, agreeing on the offer. "Okay, I'll consider it a deal."

Generik hung up the phone, only left with Biffa probably groaning because he realised he had some shitty wifi that would result in lagging. But Biffa didn't care, he was finally not going to be a sore loser and actually go onto a server.

Yes, he could've taken the shot to join Mindcrack but with a few people and in a space he was comfortable with? He was more than happy!

Biffa logged back into Minecraft, leaving his single player world abandoned for a while. He was ready to join what was about to be his new home. Upon arriving, he saw some of the familiar faces. He greeted them, they were all in a new world.

However, there was one person that he didn't recognise as much.
This man, or whoever was in that suit was wearing a green helmet. His face was covered and only his eyes were visible with the helmet on him.

It reminded Biffa of a character he used to play as when he was younger, but was curious at how shy he was. Hypno, one of Biffa's friends tried to talk to him, but this person kept straying away from the group.

Eventually, Generik came back from the portal. He was older, long gray beard and it looked like someone had punched him in the face and his teeth had fallen out. Generik grinned, looking around at the world.

"Welcome to Hermitcraft! I'm your admin, Generikb." Generik formally introduced, as the other new members looked at each other.

"As you can see, this is a brand new world. You may do whatever you like here, as long as it doesn't involve doing other silly things."

Hypno snickered, looking at Biffa with a mischievous look. This is going to be fun! Biffa thought in an ironic way. Everyone was awkward already, but this was just the beginning.

"So, here are the basic rules..."

As Generik continued to explain the rules, Biffa noticed the player still on an uncomfortable distance between the new members and himself. Biffa was annoyed so he moved close to where the helmet man was standing.

The helmet man stayed still, indicating that apart from Generik he has no idea who he was standing next to nor he knew any of the members' names. The two stared at each other, Biffa knew it was rude but... what was up with this guy?

You've been good friends with some of the people my ass! Biffa muttered in his head, this wasn't what he was expecting.

"And, that's it! Good luck!" Generik finished off, sighing of relief.

"What?" The helmet man gasped out, he had some sort of a posh English accent. It didn't sound like a surprised gasp, more of a gloomy one.

Generik groaned, in probably the nicest way possible. "Xisuma, it's in the chest if you didn't listen already."

Once all the members left to go out of their own adventures, it was only Xisuma and Biffa left on spawnpoint. At least Biffa knew his name already.

Since everyone left spawnpoint, Biffa wanted to introduce himself to Xisuma. As Xisuma was punching down one of the trees with his fists to gather up wood, Biffa said a simple hello.

No response. Either Xisuma was unable to hear Biffa's greeting or Xisuma simply didn't want to talk to him.

Biffa tried talking to him again, collecting the wood down to create some tools.

"Hey, sorry if I've made you uncom-"

"Okay, fine. I'm going to talk now, if you want me to get out of my comfort zone." Xisuma spat out, finishing punching up the last wood left on the tree.

He was a much softer spoken member out of the server, having not known anyone besides Generik and maybe Hypno. Biffa was a little bit intimidated by how almost pissed off Xisuma was, but it was cute at the same time?

Biffa hummed, placing down the crafting table to make tools.

"Guess we're both going together."

"No, besides I don't even know your name." Xisuma replied back, now sitting down on the soft sand. "Why are you bothered to even be friends with a loser?"

"Whoa, slow down there! Bloody hell." Biffa swore back, making two wooden pickaxes for himself and Xisuma. "First of all, my name is Biffa. Secondly, you're not a loser so give yourself a gold star for that."

Xisuma laid on the grass, watching the sun rise up. "You're more aggressive than the British fellas I've met."

"Really? I'm only being nice because you were being all grumpy." Biffa teased.

Xisuma slightly blushed, he was practically sweating from the inside of his armour. "I-I promise I'm not that mean. I'm just here only because I didn't want to feel bad for Generik."

"He's quite extroverted at times, understandable for a fella like him."

Both stayed silent for a moment, as Xisuma began to mine down the stone from a nearby cliff.

Before the server could open, Generik had warned Biffa at the start that none of the members were really keen on interacting. It's not that they hated making new friends, it was an awkward start to say the least and Generik wanted the members to spread themselves out first.

Fortunately, after Xisuma had been around Biffa's side for a few minutes it seemed that they have forced themselves to just stay with each other. This was their option, they were the only two British members of the group!

"I suppose we're both building the base together?" Biffa asked, in a polite manner this time.

Xisuma pulled Biffa up from where he was, lying down in the soft grass.

"Only if we don't argue like angry English men." Xisuma warned, having a slight change of tone.

Biffa laughed, shaking Xisuma's hand.

"It's a deal then."
