More magic mishaps with Iskall and Joe!

A/N: Hello again my friends! Sorry I haven't written, I just can't seem to motivate myself. And I have three tags to get around to doing... FUN! In the meantime, have some story.

Iskall's P.O.V

I stared down at my notes in mild frustration.

I had only been able to uncover three things from the tests I had performed.

1. Each power seems to be unique.

2. Each power gives off relatively similar magic signatures.

3. The powers seem to all come from one source.

What this source was, however, was another question entirely. Sighing, I set the notes aside. I wasn't going to get anywhere by just sitting around. I turned back to the machines scattered around the lab.

(This Time Skip is sponsored by Duck Tape, made with- and by- real ducks!)

This is pointless!

Growling, I kicked the table in outright frustration. Now my foot hurt too.

Maybe I shouldn't have done that.

The single word printed on my pages of notes after each test was seared into my mind. Inconclusive. What an utterly stupid, pointless word, one of absolutely no use to me.

I picked up one of the many assorted books in the lab, ready to throw it. But that's when I noticed the title- Magic: It's sources and forms.

Pushing all the papers off of my work table, I plopped the book down and started reading.

(Wait, where are we going? Oh, right, P.O.V. change.)

Joe's P.O.V.

It was a truly beautiful day, with all the birds singing sweetly in the trees, animals chattering in a natural symphony. The breeze was delightfully cool as the sun beat down in waves of heat. Such a day was fairly common on the Hermitcraft server, and I loved to simply spend it outside using the world as the muse for my creative expressions.

Suddenly, it all changed.

The symphony of the world became discordant, the breeze strong and cold, the sun weak and shrouded in dark thunderheads. Electricity crackled through the air, foreboding prickled at my senses. The vocalizations of the animals were filled with terror, pure and simple. Leaves that had once rustled gently now grated harshly, buffeted in the icy wind. The world was falling apart, chaos tearing at the seams of the natural order. A dark form appeared on the horizon. Fear struck me like a hammer, crashing down on me in waves as the figure's unnatural eyes met mine. Dark laughter echoed through the air, the world becoming foggy and misty. I grasped for the light, struggling in the depths of this fearful chaos.

As darkness enclosed, my vision suddenly cleared.

Was... was that another vision?

My surroundings showed no sign of the chaos that had just crept across the landscape only moments before. That seemed to be a fairly reliable indicator that all I had just experienced was simply another one of those visions.

Pulling out my trusty journal, I jotted down everything I could remember about the vision in neat writing. When I was done, I leafed through the other ink-filled pages of the book, absently scanning lines of previous visions. Each was filled with magic and curiosity, people I hadn't seen before, places I could have never imagined in my wildest dreams.

I paused over several entries. The first was of a larger than life tree, a garden of flora and fauna surrounding it. The tree and various other items in the clearing seemed to glow with a magical light, a stunning contrast to the purple-tinted mountains in the backdrop. A figure walked among the plants, dwarfed by the tree and the small buildings perched on it. I had even drawn a small picture of it all, although my poor attempts at the drawing didn't even come close to doing  it justice.

The second vision depicted several people, mostly female, laughing and chattering among each other. Occasionally one would pipe up with a quip, and others would chime in. They all looked quite pleased, the joy that radiated off of them was practically infectious. I smiled a bit just thinking about it.

Most of my visions had been like this. Never before had they depicted such chaos and destruction. Try as I might to brush this vision off, it stuck with me. What could it mean?

No matter what, I had a horrible feeling that we would all soon find out.

A/N: MEEP! THERE YOU GO! ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER!! Yes, these are intentional. I do enjoy torturing people with this. Anyways, I hope to do more writing tomorrow. Maybe the next part of this? I don't know. Anywho... I hope you guys enjoyed! I tried to make Joe's part as wordy and descriptive as I could given the circumstances, so I hope I did well!

Also, I'm working on a powers reference page for this AU. It's VERY heavy in references so far. I hope to finish that and get it out at some point in the future, so you can look forward to that as well!

But it's time for me to head off. Good night (or morning, or day, or whatever) to all!
