Gem was fixing up her garden, pulling out all the weeds and putting them in the composter. She giggled as she saw how the worms crawled up to munch on the greens. Her communicator beeped in her satchel as the wind started to pick up. Her loose braid came undone and her hair waved in the wind. She opened her satchel and moved around all the seed packets to get to her communicator.

Impulsesv : 'We are all still going to the meeting right? I'm bringing a new type of stew I want you guys to try!'

Gem smiled and her ears raised a little bit.

PearlescentMoon : 'Yeah of course, i'm finishing up some decorations at spawn before the rain starts. I'll see you both there!'

Gem started typing and nearly dropped the small gadget as thunder boomed in the distance. She didn't think it would be a thunderstorm but she had already sent her message.

Geminitay: 'Of course!! I'll be there with my soup too! <3'

She sighed as her deer ears lowered. She got all of her potted plants inside so they wouldn't get too much water and she closed the curtains. Her tail swayed nervously as the house shook from the thunder. She quickly ran to her room and hid under her blankets, peeking her head out when she got too hot. It was pouring outside and she could hear the muffled beeps from her communicator. She grabbed the small gadget and sniffled as tears threatened to spill. She stumbled to the closet and sat down with her favorite blanket, huddling up where pillows and cushions were.

Impulsesv : 'Hey Gem? Where ya at?'

Impulse typed into the chat, waiting near the door. Pearl walked up to him, peeking out the pouring window.

"Do you think she got hurt.?"

Impulse sighed, getting worried for more people. Tango was a blazeborn and he couldn't go out into a heavy storm without an umbrella. Zedaph couldn't sleep well with thunder either, it always woke him up.

"I think we should go check on her, something feels wrong.."

Pearl nodded and glanced back at her wings. She leapt into the air with Impulse quickly following behind her. They flew quickly with the wind pushing and rain pushing them in the direction they needed to go. They were soaking wet by the time they got inside of Gem's house.

"Gem? Where are you Gem?"

Pearl called out as she started to head upstairs. The thunder became louder with each passing minute. Impulse had taken off his shirt and twisted it to get the water out. He made sure to hold it above the plants so he didn't soak Gem's floorboards. After he got it somewhat dry he made his way upstairs, looking around for Gem.

Pearl was sitting beside Gem inside the closet and was holding her close. Impulse rushed over and sat down next to them both.

"Is she okay.?"

Impulse whispered. Gem's face was red from crying and Pearl was trying to calm her down. She hid her face into Pearl as soon as thunder shook the house.

"She's shaking.. I'm not sure.."

Pearl muttered as she gently rubbed Gem's back. Impulse's ears perked up and opened up his satchel. He pulled out a pair of noise canceling headphones. He carefully set them on Gem's ears, having to go through this with Zedaphs and Tangos ears.

"I'm gonna go make some warm soup, can you both get dry and warm? I'll knock before I come inside and I'll change in the bathroom. I have some of my own clothes in my invo"

Pearl nodded and helped Gem stand. Impulse got up before them and went to the bathroom to change. By the time he got back with the soup, both Gem and Pearl were on the bed. Gem's head was in Pearl's lap and small candles were lit around the area. The sky grew darker and darker as time went on. Gem smelled the fresh soup and slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes. Impulse smiled at them both and gave them the rabbit stew.

"I hope you guys like it, its my first time making it"

Gem smiled and hugged him. Pearl sipped out of the bow and chewed up the bits and pieces of the cooked rabbit. Gem took her time with eating and muttered a small thanks every time she took a sip. Impulse chuckled as they all ate together, the thunder that boomed being soft in Gems ears. Impulses communicator was beeping like crazy. Pearl laughed out loud, trying not to spill her soup all over Gem.

"Your boys need you already?"

Impulse gave a sweet smile before getting up from the bed.

"Yeah, Tango is probably stuck in a cave trying to get out and I would assume Zed woke up from the loud thunder. You both have a good night, i gotta go get them"

Impulse kissed both of their hands and took his empty bowl. Pearl and Gem relaxed on the bed and smiled at each other. Pearl's antennas were drying from being soaked outside but the rain didn't seem like it would stop any time soon.

Pearl gathered the things to make a pillow fort and set it right in front of the fireplace. Gem slowly followed behind her as she got the fire going. She was thankful Xisuma figured out how to keep the rain out of her chimney. They built the pillow fort and got comfortable.

Gem and pearl looked at each other as their communications dined at the same time. Impulse had sent a picture through the server and the girls both started laughing as they saw both Tango and Zed trying to put on pants while holding a hand out to the camera. Tango was shirtless and his hair was flamed up from embarrassment. Zed's tail was tucked underneath him as he covered his butt, trying to run away with the soaked pants still on his legs. Pearl and Gem giggled that entire night and the trio didn't say anything until the morning, acting like that picture was never taken.
