not gone, not forgotten

AHAHA PLEASE IGNORE THE FACT THAT I HAVEN'T UPDATED BOAW IN 2 MONTHS AND THIS IN ONE AHAHA ALSO THIS HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRAFTS FOR 6 MONTHS (also this is back in s6 because ya know... in December we were still in season 6)

Imminently, there was something off with the day. Grian woke up with one of those feelings, like something is ominously looming over you. This was never a good feeling to have on the hermitcraft server, especially when the rest of the server seemed to have the same feeling. Grian looked down at his communicator which was begging for his attention, buzzing every other second as hermit sent message after message.

After a few seconds of blankly staring at the screen on his wrist, just watching the messages scroll by, Grian decided maybe he should actually try and figure out what they were saying.

Still just waking up, Grian rubbed his eyes as he started reading.

"It wasn't me this time, I swear" That's always concerning coming from Cub.

"Well it wasn't me either" Another concerning thing to hear from Doc.

If the server's two mad scientists say they have nothing to do with local chaos, either something has gone terribly wrong or someone is lying.

"Well i''m pretty sure Stress isn't over there in her ice palace creating random portals who randomly drop strange people through it" oop-

Ahaha. That didn't sounds to good. Grian learned the hard way, that random portals are never a good thing, especially when Grian is around.

The blond quickly drew up his keyboard, "uhh hey guys, what's up?" well that was redundant. Grian had a sneaking suspicion that he knew exactly "what was up".

Aaand, the chat exploded. Clearly that was the wrong way to enter the conversation.

Grian could barely keep up with the chat. Luckily he did see a simple little message from X, "Meet me at the stock exchange." Ever so punctual. Per usual.

With a quick agreement from Grian to X, he stumbled out of his bed in the lonely little base he calls home to get himself dressed, and then on to the shopping district.

---=+=---

The chilly sea breeze always surprised Grian, no matter how many times he cursed himself for not wearing a jacket. Nevertheless, Grian soared a polite distance over the crashing waves until he had to pull up as the land came into view.

Nothing woke Grian up more than a nice little spritzing and weaving through the shopping district. At this point it might as well be considered his morning routine. Grian mindlessly navigated through the familiar streets of the district, almost running into a new shop.

Grian gracefully planted his feet in the soft dirt below and came to a stop. He lifted his head up, shielding his eyes from the direct sun with his hand as he looked around for signs of X.

Grian started waking around, assuming that Xisuma was probably inside the exchange, but he soon came to an abrupt stop. And by that, Grian meant he literally ran into a pillar of obsidian and fell down.

Looking up at what he has just ran into, he had no idea how he missed it.

Looming above him was a signature portal he couldn't forget about if he wanted to. Somehow still lit with two pieces missing, the evo portal.

They were right! The portal was still here! And lit! Grian instinctively pushed his hand through the portal, watching it disappear through the misty purple. The strange part was, he couldn't feel anything on the other side. With nether portals, heat radiated off of them, and you could feel the killer humidity as soon as you passed through the portal. Something similar happened with End portals, as well as traveling back to the overworld. But the familiar portal in front of him seemed to have no other side, or at least one he knew of.

Never mind the strange doings of the portal, the hermits had said that someone had come through the portal. Grian sprinted (around the portal this time) into the stock exchange. Looking for Xisuma.

Catching a quick glare of Xisuma's visor being hit by the sun, Grian ran over to where he was sitting in the corner. Xisuma, nodded towards him as the blond ran towards him, signalling for the two other hermits who were beside him to back up a little.

Looking down at what the three hermits were surrounding, he recognized the figure lying on the floor imminently. Grian slid down the marble floors to sit beside him.

"Taurtis!" Grian exclaimed, looking at his long lost, and currently unconscious, friend.

Xisuma cocked his head and locked eyes with Grian through the visor, "You know this man?" Above him, both Cub and False gave him similar, curious looks.

Grian nodded excitedly, "Of course! He's an old friend of mine from back when I was in Evo. It was a whole thing with a summoni-"

Xisuma put his hand out as a sign to stop. "You can tell us all about your adventures later, all we needed to know is that he was familiar to someone. We need to make sure he's okay"

"Oh..." Grian said, looking down at the floor as Xisuma spoke to False and Cub about moving Taurtis somewhere that wasn't on uncomfortable marble floors. "We could move him to my base, ya know, since he's my friend" Grian offered.

Xisuma shrugged, "Sure, Cub, how about me and you get potions and beds and such, and you False help Grian with his friend."

Cub nodded, "Sure, what will we need, regen and healing?" Xisuma nodded, telling him that he'll go get some food and beds.

Beside Grian, False sheathed the sword she had been leaning on and knelt down beside Taurtis, calling back towards X, "One of you two, grabs some bandages as well, he could have some scratches or scrapes" Cub and Xisuma nodded as they went to gather their items.

False turned back to Grian, "Okay, so should I carry him to your base?"

Grian shrugged, "If you think that would be best, sure."

False nodded, "Just help me pick him up."

After a minuet of struggling, Grian had gotten his friend into False's arms, and so the pair shot off into the sky towards Grian's spire with the unconscious body of an old friend in arm. This would be an interesting day.
