Hematophobia
Wels was a knight, as his name suggested, meaning he had plenty of practice in fighting, which was a good thing for when (or if) he got targeted by Iskall, and just pvping in general. But there was a problem with that...
Wels was scared of blood, to the point he could have a panic attack, but that makes people wonder how he became a knight.
It all started after he became a knight.
"Congrats Wels!" A familiar friendly voice exclaimed, Wels turned around to see his best friend Tucker standing behind him. Tucker had been knighted a while back, and now Wels could fight beside his best friend.
"Thanks, I'm excited I'm finally a knight!" Wels responded. Neither men noticed Wels's brother Hels standing in the corner, glowering at the fact his brother had been knighted before him.
Wels and Tucker walked towards the courtyard to celebrate with the rest of the knights. They were all having a great time until an alarm went off. All of the knights ran towards the weapons room, and got their swords and bows, they were always sworn to wear their armor.
After they got their weapons they all ran back out and got ready to fight. Another knight ran over to them.
"The king is dead, someone attacked and killed him, we have reason to believing that they had help from the dark kings army," he told them quickly, all of a sudden he collapsed towards them with an arrow in the notch of his armor.
Wels ran away from the group, he had some suspicions on who killed the king.
"Hels," Wels growled when he saw his brother, Hels turned around with a smirk, he had blood on him and a sword in hand.
"Ah, dear brother, you came... I knew you would," Hels smirked, Wels ran towards him and their swords clashed together, something made his brother more swift and powerful.
Wels layed panting on the floor, he managed to fend Hels off, he went off somewhere else, but he was badly injured. Wels got up, he was sworn to protect the kingdom with his life, so he would.
Wels ran out of the throne room and out to the court yard where everyone else was. It was a blood bath. Many of his friends layed injured or dead on the ground, Wels couldn't bare to look at them. He ran towards the nearest enemy and attacked him, or her.
Soon the battle was over... the enemy had won and Wels was hiding away, he knew he had to get out of there, but he needed to know if Tucker was alive. As Wels looked over the courtyard he realized how much blood there was. It seemed the enemy wanted to cover the field in blood, and they succeeded. Every inch was coverd with blood, the only color he could see was red. Wels looked down and saw his armor had a bunch of his blood on it, only then did he notice the stab wound in his abdomen.
Wels looked back up, what he saw nearly made him cry out. There was Tucker, kneeling on the ground with Hels holding a sword to his neck. Hels then pulled the sword back and through Tucker's neck. Wels has to turn around, he couldn't stand looking at his friend's head that was now on the ground.
Wels got up and ran, he ran until he couldn't breath, he ran until the pain was to much. When he did stop running he was in front of a portal made of a variety of materials and had a gold center. Wels decided that he could just go through, if he died than that would be fine, he had nothing left to live for. There was no kingdom or king to protect, he didn't have any friends that were alive, he had nothing.
Wels jumped through and immediately felt nauseous. He fell through to the other side and just layed there, bleeding out. Then he realized the eyes penetrating through his armor.
Wels rolled over and sat up a bit, he saw many people looking at him with concern and confusion. Then one person with a helmet on approached him.
"Hello, my name is Xisuma, what's yours?" The man asked.
"Ah yes, introduce yourself and have a nice conversation why don't you, meanwhile he is just bleeding out," Someone said, Wels couldn't really tell where the voice came from.
"I'm Welsknight, and he has a point," Wels answered gruffly, while the person who spoke before him laughed, "Where am I?"
"Oh, right, you're in Hermitcraft, how did you exactly get here?" Xisuma asked, Wels just shrugged than layed back down and closed his eyes.
Next time his eyes opened he saw he was in a wooden room with bandages around his stomach, he could still feel his armor on him, good.
Wels lived in Hermitcraft after that, he found out he was quite good at building.
Now here he was. Wels never told anyone about his fear of blood, he was worried they would find him weak, like the knights would've.
One thing most people didn't know about Hermitcraft was that they had an end of season activity, everyone had to go and participate, unless they had a fear or were previously injured.
This season's activity was PVP, Wels immediately realized the problem, he was afraid of blood, no one knew, and he had to participate in a PVP match.
The end of season event came to quickly... much to quickly.
Wels was flying to the shopping district, he was worried, but he didn't let it show. Soon Wels landed, he looked at the tournament board, he was going against False first. Poop.
Wels waited till it was his turn, he knew he couldn't purposely lose, his instincts told him to fight and win, so that's what he would do.
It was their turn, and it ended quickly with Wels winning and not to much blood. Good.
Many fights pursued until it was the finals, it was him against Iskall. Poop, again.
Many things happened at once, but soon Wels had Iskall kneeling down with Wels sword against his neck, blood dripping down both of their armor.
Wels realized the situation way to late. He fell backwards and started hyperventilating, the memories coming back, the king's death, him beating Hels, him fighting the dark knights, Hels decapitating his best friend since they were 3 years old.
Wels vision started fading with lack of oxygen, then he felt a hand rubbing circles on his back, he could tell they were saying something, he couldn't tell what though, but it calmed him a bit.
Soon he could breath again, he still couldn't make out what the person was saying, there were to many other voices to understand one of them clearly.
Then everyone went quiet and he could finally make out the voice.
"You're doing great Wels, just keep breathing in and out," X said, Wels smiled a bit.
"Thanks X," Wels rasped out, X stopped rubbing circles on his back and stood up, Wels followed his lead, "I guess I should explain..."
They all nodded.
"When I first became a knight I celebrated with my best friend Tucker, we were having a great time when we got news the king was killed and we were getting attacked, I immediately knew my brother was the coulprit, so I went to him and we fought, eventually I had to help the others. In short we lost, I was hiding while deciding what to do, then I saw Hels, my brother, had a sword to Tucker's neck, he cut Tucker's head off, then I ran and got to Hermitcraft," Wels could feel tears falling down his face while explained.
After that the Hermits were more careful around Wels, but they weren't treating him like he would break at any second, that was a good thing.
