*slips another paper to you* I finally wrote the backstories for my AU

You do NOT know how much I legitimately cried after I finished editing this chapter.

(November, 2020)
Word Count: 7629 words O.O this better save or I will delete my account

All the Hermits look relatively the same as most people headcanon them, I can't be bothered to type out an entire description of what they look like unless it's unique. (Though you may have seen some before possibly?) Also, I can't draw. If I describe how I'd like them to look, the urge to draw them would increase by tenfold and I'll suffer.

If there are ideas you'd like to add, feel free to comment on the respective section. (Please forgive me, writing 20+ different stories was so difficult-

Aight, onto backstory information.
-I didn't write all the Hermits' backstories. I got so sick of looking at my empty list of Hermits I need to write. The only Hermits' backstories I wrote were the ones that were long enough to have it's own category, or ones that had two or more unique points I can think of.

-The rest of the Hermits are at the bottom of the page.

-You could also just use the generic backstory the respective Hermit usually gets if you don't like mine.

-Please keep in mind the average age ranges:
Travelers: 100-150 years
(Same as irl basically, they just somehow have a longer lifespan probably because of their lifestyles)
Netherborns: 300-350 years
(Divide by three and that's basically irl.)
Voidwalkers: In the AU notes, I said it's undetermined/unknown. Personally, I say it's 5000-8000 years. I don't have an explanation as to why they live so long besides plot convenience, so, uh, sorry.
(I messed up my conversions so eh, but I'd say that 800 years is the end of adolescence? An adult Voidwalker would probably be +900 years)

-I would like to justify myself for the length of X's and Ex's backstory. Combine, they are almost 3k words long. I'm planning to do a whole book on them that's why it's so thought out please leave me alone- *screeches*

And with that, please enjoy these half-braincelled attempt at backstories.

===《☆◇☆》===

Etho:
Etho is a Netherborn that was raised in the End. His parents were Voidwalkers that had been visiting the Nether. When he was born, they immediately went back to the End, though they feared it was too late. Thankfully, they were able to keep him alive.

In the early years of his life, he used a small rebreather behind a mask to give him enough oxygen. His white hair is from Netherborn traits. He originally had black eyes, but the left turned red after being scratched by the Ender Dragon. It awoke the Netherborn part of him since all Enderkinds are magical.

Later in life, he left the End in favor of exploring. The rebreather was tucked away, only used when needed, but he kept the mask. He never takes it off in front of anyone, leaving the lower half of his face a mystery to everyone he meets.

Those who meet him believe he is a Traveler; he is far too kind to be a Netherborn and Voidwalkers were only myths (or so they thought). He never confirms nor denies, and only shrugs with a mysterious crinkle of his eyes when they ask.

Other Information:
-I know it's short leave me aloneeee

-Etho can read people really easily. Anything anyone does will give them away. Body language, facial expressions, voice, ect.

-A former job of his was to assassinate people, but he quit relatively quickly.

===《☆◇☆》===

False:
False is a Traveler. The moment she picked up a sword, she knew PvP would be one of many strengths.

Instead of going to a normal school, she attended a combat school. Normal subjects were taught (e.g. building, redstone, mathematics, literature, ect.), but the combat was mostly focused on. She absolutely destroyed the other classmates in both combat and normal subjects, bringing her to the top of all her classes.

One time during the school, she was so fed up with her hair being in her way (despite the pony tail, she moved too fast for it to actually stay in during longer practicing/sparring sessions) and decided to use the sword to cut it really short. Yes, *Mulan intensifies*.

After her school days, she traveled the Overworld. Many Hackers who came across her were humiliated, though there have been a few close calls because the Hackers have advantages with the code.

Two decades later, a friend named Xisuma asked her to join Hermitcraft. She accepted, finally getting to take a break from traveling to spend time with a group of friends.

And still, up to Season Seven, is one of the best PvPers and is one of the strongest in the server.

Other Information:
-She has a great poker face. Almost nothing can break her.

-She likes to keep her combat skills low. She doesn't like bragging.

-She has a sister named True.

===《☆◇☆》===

Grian:
Grian is a Traveler born to two Voidwalkers. His parents had moved to the Overworld (it had taken some debate between the two of them) because the building supplies in the End were limited.

Grian himself had a very active childhood. The danger of being Voidwalkers in the Overworld were higher than what it should be because scientists liked to experiment on different species. His family never stayed in one place.

At one area he lived in for a while, he found a friend named Mumbo, who he got along with well. That friendship, however, didn't last long. Sometime during his teenage years, he was taken by the Watchers due to the fact his parents were Voidwalkers. According to the Watchers, he had pOtEnTiAL. Grian hated every moment he was there.

He was forced to learn Watcher magic. Because of the ritual he was forced to partake in, it was possible for him to do so despite being a Traveler. (The ritual stunted his growth. He was born to Voidwalker parents who are naturally tall, and even though he was a Traveler, chances are he would have been taller than 5'6".)

One day, he got the opportunity to escape. He instantly took it, and the magic he released on the way out was so powerful that he overshot the Overworld and landed in a server that was for high schoolers. With the remainder of the strong magic, he made his clothes look like the other high schoolers, and enrolled because if he wasn't taken by the Watchers, he would have been in high school.

High school ends and Grian had more problems with trauma than he anticipated. He wanted to go back to the Overworld to find his old friend and his parents, but he feared the Watchers finding him, so instead, with a few friends, he created a server called Wynncraft.

Okay so that also passes and he made another server. It was Evo. And the Watchers found him there.

Both sides were quiet about Grian's Watcher status. During the length of the server, the Watchers were trying to get Grian back while Grian was trying to stay as far away as possible. At the end, during the ender dragon thing, the Watchers almost got him, but another burst of magic shot him to the Overworld.

Plot convenience, Mumbo found him. He joined Hermitcraft at Mumbo's invitation.

Grian was incredibly happy to know that Xisuma's coding around the server world was so protective and strong that not even uninvited Watchers could get in.

And that leads us to Hermitcraft, and by this point, he's almost forgotten about the Watcher/Void magic.

Other Information:
-Grian's Watcher magic is spontaneous. Almost all the time, it is so weak no other magic users could feel it. Rarely, especially with flaring emotions, they get strong. Really strong. Grian still doesn't know how to control it.

===《☆◇☆》===

Impulse:
Impulse is a Traveler. Since childhood, he's always been exploring the Overworld, and that didn't stop when he got older. He's picked up tips and tricks, along with some weird friends.

He went through normal schooling and passed easily. His main talent was redstone, but building wasn't far behind.

Impulse used to have a baby pet creeper. That's why he has a creeper on his shirt. He just has an affinity for creepers.

If anyone told him he was going to be best friends with a Netherborn and a Voidwalker, he would have asked if they were okay.

Other Information:
-If he doesn't have to kill creepers, he usually doesn't. Making creeper farms hurt him emotionally.

===《☆◇☆》===

Iskall:
Iskall is a Traveler. From childhood, he was trained to be an assassin/hitman type of player. For the majority of his life, he was hired by Hackers to carry out hits on people that are too dangerous to them to handle on their own.

Cowards.

At about thirty years old, he was given an almost impossible hit (not that he knew at the time).

He was supposed to kill Xisumavoid.

This is a slight spoiler for X's backstory, but I have no fricking clue why they would attempt to target him a second time after he got away the first time? I don't know man, I love people's stupidity. They make perfect stories.

This mission didn't have a time limit, so Iskall could take all the time he needed. However, he's not really the one to procrastinate that long, so he didn't expect it to take long.

Well no, he didn't expect it to take over a year.

The moment he was able to catch Xisuma in the Overworld was his only chance to do it.

However, Xisuma somehow knew he was out for his head, and called Iskall from his hiding spot. Iskall was more confused than angry.

The two, somehow had a nice lil' conversation, and Xisuma actually convinced him to join the fourth season of Hermitcraft. Iskall didn't know how Xisuma could trust him, let alone let him onto his server with the amount of blood on his hands.

Because of the protective coding around Hermitcraft, the Hackers that set him for the job couldn't kill him.

Other Information:
-He doesn't like talking about his past due to the fear of being shunned for it

-He hates diorite because he's allergic to it. It makes some sense, some people are allergic to iron and what not, so why not diorite?

===《☆◇☆》===

Tango:
Tango is a Netherborn. For some odd reason, he didn't act like most Netherborns. Sure, he liked shiny stuff, but he wasn't aggressive. That made him an easy target for the mean ones.

He got a family heirloom. It was a simple crown thingy, and he always wears it. He doesn't wear it to assert dominance, he likes the look of it.

At the age of twenty years old, he was kicked out of the Nether because he was too nice, too soft, as they said. He didn't partake in the tournaments, he refused to hurt most of the other Netherborns, and he couldn't kill the hoglins.

His parents were powerless to help him. And yes, they had to watch as the higher ranked Netherborns threw their child through the portal.

When he arrived in the Overworld, he landed in a pond. Considering he's basically lived in a furnace for eleven years, I think it's pretty safe to say he thought he was going to die.

And he probably was if a kind Traveler didn't pull him out of the water and take him indoors.

The two lived together for a while. Tango wasn't planning on staying with them, but he did. They both were relatively the same age. The Traveler taught him a lot of redstone and some building, so yeah. I mean, Tango has always been good at redstone, the Traveler just shared little tips and tricks.

A third joined the party, and they were inseparable.

When Tango first joined Hermitcraft, he was hesitant to go to the Nether. Xisuma had to convince him that there weren't any Netherborns there that would hurt him, and even then, Tango was still wary.

It's gotten better, much better over the years. Many of the Hermits suspect he's a Netherborn, but out of respect, they don't ask. It was obvious when one of them found Tango just chilling in a pool of lava.

He doesn't make an effort to hide his Netherborn status because he trusts the Hermits with his life.

Other Information:
-The yellow band around his head is actually one of those crowns that go under the hair and only shows on their forehead.

-His entire eye is red except for the little lighter shade red dot that makes it easy to tell where he's looking.

-Unlike other Netherborns who have trouble speaking to the Lavakinds, Tango can do it easily.

===《☆◇☆》===

If you don't like reading blocks of text, I sincerely apologize for the next four backstories

Hels
Hels is a Netherborn. He was born to two Netherborn parents whose beliefs were biased against the other species (including mobs, not just the players). Most Netherborns were born with fangs, but Hels seemed to have extra sharp fangs. His childhood was normal except for the fact that he always had a small voice in the back of his head that he knew wasn't his. It was easy for him to quiet it, so he never cared much for it. Hels was also a bit more violent than the other Netherborns, which got him in trouble often. He grew up with normal Hacker ideals, basically thinking that he's better than everyone else, so he didn't care too much about the trouble he caused and got into.

In his school, he was average in his classes. He never usually studied and barely managed to pass the subjects. He isn't stupid though, he's far from it. His mind is more set for survival than anything else. (The martial arts and the combat training was what he excelled in.)

In his free time, he bullied other Netherborns with his group of friends. He was the leader of his group, and it was no question because he was the only one who owned a sword, a netherite one at that. He often bullied Netherborns that were smaller than them, were alone, or didn't have two Netherborn parents.

He was still in school when an incident happened. The person he happened to be picking on had :sparkles: magic :sparkles:, and that was the last straw for them. On the right side of Hels' body, a large laceration that went from the base of his skull to shoulder was formed. That day forwards, he and his group did not pick on many people anymore (especially that person). As much as they hated everyone else and wanted everyone else to die, they themselves didn't want to suffer permadeath.

After the school Hels barely passed, he decided that he would stay and work in the Nether. He did a good job at guarding the local nether fortress. Hels was eventually promoted to the highest position because he was the best swordsman in the area by a long shot.

One day (at this point, he's probably in his sixties) Hels got caught in a trap that was designed for Netherborns. It dropped him in ice and, because it was altered with magic, sent him into a deep sleep. (He doesn't know that Overworld scientists were trapping those of magic abilities and other species for testing.) The Netherborns in the Nether assumed Hels had died.

A hundred years later, still trapped in the ice, he woke up. Some Netherborns had apparently found him. Now, because Hels is a Netherborn, he was incredibly weak and violently shivering due to the lack of cold immunity. When the Netherborns broke the ice, he was freed, but instantly fell to the floor, curling into a small ball. Later, he threatened to kill anyone who said it happened.

Remember that voice in his head? It was stronger than ever, probably due to the magic that came in contact with him. After the Netherborns left him because he yelled at them (they didn't care. Netherborns don't care much for each other), Hels and the voice in his head had an argument. (Most likely about who controls their shared body.)

By this time, he was in the wilderness of the Overworld. The argument got so bad and both sides were so furious at each other that somehow, they managed to separate from each other. Maybe it was by the grace of Minecraft or plot convenience that it happened, but it did.

As soon as the two regained consciousness, they had another fight but it was weaker than earlier. Hels watched his other scuttle away, holding his side as if he were injured.

From then on, Hels stayed in the Nether. He was welcomed back with open arms and was deemed a hero for escaping the clutches of the little ratty Travelers. Hels got a place in the Nether named after himself.

And that leads us to Hermitcraft Season Seven. He heard of a way to get to the server without being whitelisted (which included some hacking and rune work), and he managed to pester the corporal voice in his head. Apparently the other's name was Wels and was the complete opposite of him in the sense of morals.

And Hels, with a smirk on his face, knew he had another player to harass.

After all, if Hels didn't have any special magic, how could Wels?

Other Information:
-Hels' and Wels' separation is the equivalent of two people sharing a Minecraft account, then one of them getting their own. The second has qualities of the first, but they're their own person.

-The trap is a reason why he hates the Overworld with a burning passion.

-He hates Wels just as much.

-Hels' hair is long and black but part of it is dyed red. Yeah, the red tuff stuff on his helmet? That's his hair.

===《☆◇☆》===

Wels:
Wels is a Traveler.

Kind of.

To clarify because I confused myself with this, Wels is as old as his body is, not his mind. This means he's physically about a hundred years younger than Hels, mentally they're the same. (And because he really doesn't like Hels, he goes with the physical age.) Of course, because he is technically Hels, just in another body, he already knows how to do certain things. It was just... weird to be able to control his own body.

The physical traits are basically the same. Since he is basically a clone of Hels, they have the exact features and skin as each other, but he is more saturated than Hels probably because he's a traveler. He does have the scars, can quiet anyone with a glare, all that stuff. Of course, there are differences. Hels has longer black hair while he has short brown hair. Hels has ruby eyes and he has sapphire eyes. Hels almost always has a scowl on his face while he always seems to be smiling.

That aside, his first physical appearance is in the Overworld, so he would behave like a Traveler. He is one of the few players who didn't get an actual childhood because his childhood is shared with Hels'.

He spent the first night in the Overworld hiding in the forest Hels had stumbled in earlier. The next day, another Traveler found him bleeding out on the ground. They brought him to the local hospital, and after he healed, brought him to the main castle in the Overworld (kind of like the first and only castle that actually has knights, is functional, and is not built for aesthetic purposes). The king of that kingdom, instead of throwing him into the dungeons,

When asked for his name, 'Wels' was actually an accident. He was going to say something along the lines of, 'Well, that's slightly complicated.' but was also thinking, 'Hels.' so it came out as Wels.

So for the next twenty-five or so years of his life, he lived in the castle as a knight. It was similar to Hels, where he was the top of ranks and was promoted to the highest position. He went on missions, defended the castle from threats, made friends, and just... lived on his own without being pushed to the back of someone's mind.

He was invited by one of the Hermits and accepted on the spot. Not that being a knight was bad, it got boring after two decades of the same thing.

Skip to Hermitcraft Season Seven, Hels managed to make it into Herminecraft somehow.

When he first saw the name in the chat, he thought he was high or something. Xisuma didn't instantly ban due to his procedure of 'if they're related, they might be able to stay.' Plus, Wels mentioned at some point he had a... clone, for lack of better word.

That day, more than a few words were exchanged between the two. Because Hels is Hels, he challenged Wels to a duel, claiming that whatever happened would be a victory to him because if Wels backed down, Hels wins, and if Wels accepted, Hels would beat him to a pulp.

Look at how well that went.

Because Wels is basically Hels but not evil, his skill with the sword is the same. However, since Wels spends time with the Hermits, he's started to branch out to other styles of combat (*cough* mostly traps), so when the two fight, it either ends in a draw or with Wels on top.

(Hels tried a trap but forgot the elytra was a thing. Netherborns don't have elytras.)

Thankfully, during the conversation and after the duel, Hels didn't expose the fact that they used to be the same person. Neither seemed keen on doing so (Hels had the mindset of 'ew you're associated with that nerd?' and Wels thought 'they're going to think I'm a bad person' if it was known they were one person).

Wels is always on his toes now that he knows Hels can attack at any time he wants.

Other Information:
-Physically, he's thirty-one years old. Mentally, just add about three-hundred. Wels, however, chooses to forget those ~three-hundred years.

-He doesn't really like the Nether and tends to avoid using materials from there or traveling there.

-Tying in with the ending of Hels' backstory, Wels actually does have magic. However, it's not mentioned in the backstory because he hasn't found out yet. He's got weak nature magic (he was born in a forest, okay? Remember, players are more connected to where they were born than their actual parents, but technically he doesn't have parents, so he's more in tune with the Overworld than most Travelers.)

-He hates lying.

---☆◇☆---

The relationship between Wels and Hels is pure hatred. They absolutely despise each other. Wels would give anything to get rid of Hels, and Hels loves to bother him, loves to taunt him.

===《☆◇☆》===

Xisuma:
X is a Voidwalker who has magic, whereas his brother does not. They were separated at birth for a reason unknown to him (but he could assume). A few days after Xisuma was born, his family discovered he was one of those few Voidwalkers who had bad lungs, and they fashioned a mask with a rebreather to make his breathing easier.

His childhood was to be expected. Since there were not enough Voidwalker children to have a whole school, he was taught at home, by tutors and his parents. If there had been a school, he would have been the top of his every one classes by a landslide. As for his magic? Since he was the only one with magic that he knew of (most Voidwalkers never dared to speak or seek out the Watchers), he mastered the Void magic on his own, which is an incredibly impressive feat to accomplish.

In his adolescent years, he finally met his brother. As always, it went horribly wrong. Not in the way that they hated each other, but in the way his brother accidentally looked an Enderkind in the eyes. They had to run away.

That day, he gained three scars. Two of them formed an uneven 'X' shape that crossed the bridge of his nose with one of them running over his left eye. They are from a freak accident while fighting a stray Ender Dragon. (Unknown if it was resummoned or just escaped from a keep elsewhere.) There is another gruesome scar that runs across his chest, and he got that from diving in front of the dragon to save his already wounded brother from permadeath (no one knows of it since it's covered. He doesn't want others to be concerned, and if they ask, he doesn't want his brother to look like an incompetent fool).

That day forwards, he and his brother had been inseparable. His brother, though was technically a Netherborn, opted to stay in the End with him with claims of 'anywhere is better than the Nether.'

Fast forwards a few decades, and the two had found their own hobbies. They separated, but still stayed close enough to not completely cut the other off.

Xisuma went off to learn to be an Admin. It was easy for him, he already had magic that aided him when he needed help, but he was also a natural Admin. It's quite literally in his blood. He passed the trials with such ease that he was offered a teaching position on the Admin Council. He politely declined, saying he'd rather protect than teach.

One day, his brother pointed out something Xisuma feared. His eyes used to be green, but started turning purple the more he used his magic. His brother saw they were a light shade of pastel purple. Out of fear of turning into a mindless Enderkind, he rarely uses Void magic anymore. (Though, it should be kept in mind, now he's closer to an Enderkind than a normal Voidwalker/player due to not paying attention.)

Xisuma started traveling around like a Traveler. He's been doing it for a while, but now that he's not studying the ways of the Admin, he could commit his life to it. Of course, he'd visit the End and his brother, but most of his time was spent looking for a kind group of people he could stay with.

Some time then, he and his brother had a falling out over Admins and Hackers, and it became violent. It took them both by surprise, but neither side were going to let the other win. The feud lasted for about three hundred years.

At the near end of the feud (not that the two knew it was soon going to end, because of the upcoming situation it ended), Xisuma got himself into a situation with some Hackers. They didn't know why, but they knew the Admin was a threat. They set out to capture him, and after many failed attempts, they finally succeeded. What they did to him is unknown to everyone except him and the involved Hackers. Xisuma will never tell anyone because of the mindset of not wanting anyone to worry. Not even his brother knows, but he has a hunch.

Xisuma was with the Hackers for a couple weeks before he had an idea of escape. He used his magic. Unfortunately, the blast was so large it took down the entire facility and was enough to turn him into an Enderkind (and right after escape, he went to the End). The brother got word of this and rushed over there. Xisuma didn't recognize him, and instead attacked him.

His brother eventually went through the impossible tasks of gathering the ingredients and brewing the cure because unlike some siblings, these two care for each other.

Xisuma owes him now. Neither talk about it in public, and it'll rarely come up in private conversations. Both him and his brother know it's a traumatizing topic in general, and for one to experience it first-hand...

A decade or so of (kind of) recovering from the mental scars of being in the Hackers' clutches and being an Enderkind, he finally found a group to settle with. Hermitcraft (in which the two brothers still had petty little arguments. Neither took them seriously, and often they were only for poops and giggles).

Many players who meet him speculate he's a Voidwalker, but there is no solid proof. He rarely uses his Void magic in front of others, and if he does, they think it's some Admin thing (most are not educated to know the difference). Those who are just unobservant think he's a normal Traveler with an odd fashion choice. The Hermits don't ask because they don't care about the race

Other information:
-In Hermitcraft Season Seven, I'd estimate he's a little over a thousand years old.

-The scent of void calms him down if he is ever in a panicked state. If his brother was ever around, he would hold his hand over the lower half of Xisuma's face or pull Xisuma into his unarmored chest. It works every time. If his brother wasn't around, he'd stumble into the end of whatever world he's in.

-Xisuma's eyes glow in the dark because of his former Enderkind form, but not many players know this because the helmet hides it. He never takes his helmet off in front of the Hermits, but they don't mind.

-Because Minecraft isn't that mean, he can still use his Void magic without turning into an Enderkind again, but he still refrains from doing so because his vision, when he uses the Void magic, turns to how Enderkinds see and it's difficult to live through that experience again. (I'll update the AU notes chapter to say how Void magic works.)

-He is extremely protective of the Hermits after being unofficially promoted to the leader/father figure position. It's the protectiveness of 'if you hurt one of them I won't stop them from destroying your server/world,' and 'if you touch any of them I will throw you into the void.' He's done it before for his brother, and he'll do it again.

-Every time someone discusses age (especially at the server-wide meeting) he just chuckles under his breath and sits back to watch them argue about who's really the oldest. Not a single time were they right since Xisuma looks like he's in his early thirties. (Little do they know he's over a thousand years old with many... many more to come.)

-One time his brother made fun of how often and easily Xisuma would blush. Because of that, Xisuma's visor is normally tinted purple, and if it's not purple, it's opaque and no one would know. (MelodyvonMelody's addition.)

-Not many things will make him flinch or get scared, but calling Enderkinds by their name will guarantee a visible reaction from him. (Not usually a problem since most call them endermen or the ender dragon.)

-Training to be an admin, getting caught by the Hackers, and the entire Enderkind problem were the moments he grew in maturity and were the turning points in his life.

===《☆◇☆》===

Evil Xisuma:
Ex is Xisuma's twin brother. He was born in the End but was raised a Netherborn because his parents strongly believed they would be disgraced for having two children.

Unlike his brother who was born with brown hair and green eyes, Ex had black hair as dark as the void and red eyes. They seemed to become redder the longer he stayed in the Nether.

For a Netherborn raised child, he grew up normally with family friends. Since the player connects to their place they live in from basically birth, Ex naturally likes to destroy everything, but the Voidwalker side of him kept him from causing too much trouble.

However, there was this large group of Netherborns that liked to pick on him. He didn't have friends, and was often found alone if he was outside. (And yes, like stated in Hels' backstory, Hels was one of those bullies. Evil X was alone and didn't have Netherborn parents, so he had double targets on his back.)

When he was alone, he found out he had these elemental-like powers. As far as he is aware, he can only control lightning and prevent lava/fire from burning him. There is more potential, he just doesn't know how to do the other elemental stuff. At the moment of discovery, he didn't know why, but later, he and Xisuma figured he had a weird glitched form of Void magic.

Ex liked the magic and found the heat resistance handy in the Nether, but he favored the lightning over it. He proved himself proficient with the lightning, but he earned himself a lightning-like scar that starts on his right shoulder, traveled across the back of his neck, and went through his left eye. The sight in his left eye is so blurry it might as well be blind. It looks like real lightning, not the Harry Potter scar. It was only an accident because some Netherborns decided to pick on him, but the scar will remain forever. He wears the heavy armor (received from the family friends) everyone is familiar with to hide what he can of the scar. (He's not ashamed of it, he thinks it's cool. He's just annoyed with the questions about it.)

As for the helmet, he likes the aesthetics of it and the voice modulator part. It also hides part of the scar with the translucent black glass. (Red LED lights light up where Ex's eyes would be.)

In his adolescent years, he met his brother. What happened is in Xisuma's part.

Fast forward many decades. When Xisuma became an admin, he decided to become a Hacker in favor of the idea of destroying everything. The Hackers that Ex worked with liked him because of his glitched magic, but unknown to him, they were only using him because of that. They didn't know he was a Voidwalker though.

The falling out was violent, like stated in Xisuma's backstory. Xisuma seemed to have the upper hand because of his normal magic and Admin training, but he had a habit of not wanting to hurt anyone unless it's necessary. Ex may have had the weaker magic, but he had destructive habits and practice with hacking, as well as conditioning because of his childhood in the Nether. They were practically equal.

The entire fight took a large toll on Evil X's mental health. He was already slightly... y'know, because of his lonely childhood, but this... this was bad for Evil X.

Later, word of Xisuma's capture came to him through the gossip chain of the Hackers. He didn't know Xisuma was on their hit list. This was the point where Evil X was done with the Hackers.

However, by the time Evil X got to the facility Xisuma was imprisoned in, it was in ruins. He heard two other Hackers talking. Apparently they had suppressed his Admin abilities,

The tasks to cure a Voidwalker-turned-Enderkind is practically impossible. One part of the tasks is located in the Void. The Void naturally sucks life from anything, and the longer Ex spent there, the higher the changes of permadeath got. When he eventually left, he was... changed. He was more timid and quiet. The lower half of his hair turned white (the rest is still black). His tan skin turned almost pale, and the bags under his eyes became more prominent. His lungs got worse, to the point where he couldn't go a day without his helmet (it's gradually healing). But keep in mind, the Void can't help it, and it does feel guilty for almost killing it's Voidwalker.

The two brothers went on a road of recovery. Both knew they were hiding secrets from each other, but neither pushed.

Another time skip. No major life events happened, just living and recovering.

Unknown to Xisuma because he was in Hermitcraft by this time, Evil X tried to turn himself into the Admins for some punishment of being a Hacker. He had permadeath in mind and almost hoped the punishment went through. (Ex had the mindset that what happened to Xisuma was his fault.) He was almost sentenced to permadeath via Void, but a Voidwalker Admin stopped it. They recognized him--the infamous but unknown Voidwalker that cured a Voidwalker-turned-Enderkind. How they knew he was the one, Evil X still doesn't know.

The Admin Voidwalker argued Ex's case--Evil X did not do anything to harm Minecraft or it's players (what happened between X and Ex is family business), and the Hacker had obviously changed (going off the common characteristic that Hackers were egotistical and Ex was so incredibly timid now). Ex got off with a warning and a small Admin brand on his back.

(When they had their fight, Xisuma left out the fact that Hackers went through a trial before they were sentenced to permadeath. Evil X wasn't angry at his brother for excluding that fact.)

In Hermitcraft, Ex asked Xisuma to ban him. He wanted to see how long it would take him to break back into Hermitcraft. Neither him nor Xisuma himself know why the Admin agreed to do it, but he hasn't been able to yet despite being one of the best Hackers in his ranks (Hermitcraft is just something else y'know). As a result of the ban, on his wrist he earned a small silhouetted butterfly with its wings open. (It symbolizes change, by the way.)

In his free time that is not spent breaking back into Hermitcraft, he's either exploring the Overworld, quickly checking in the Nether, and occasionally visits the End.

Other Information:
-It's easy to tell how his mental health is. His coping mechanism is insulting. The more often and harsher the insult, the worse his mental health is. He will never naturally compliment though, no matter how well he's doing. If he compliments, he either is extremely impressed, or trying to get on someone's good side.

-He can't physically blush. Neither he nor Xisuma knows why. Perhaps when they were born, he shoved his blushing abilities to Xisuma.

-The semi-sentient End dimension doesn't seem to like Ex very much (but the Void does). Ex actually has a better connection with the Nether. He considers himself a Voidwalekr by blood, a Netherborn by condition.

-He has a different name other than Evil X, but he prefers the variants of that name. X and Ex are the only ones that know of the name, and they plan to keep it that way. (Out loud, most call him Evil X. This is just to avoid confusion because some people pronounce Ex as 'E.X.' like an acronym and others just say X.)

-You know, thinking about it now, Xisuma and Evil X would probably be well-known to the remaining Voidwalkers. Word would have gotten around to the other Voidwalkers about one having the rare Void magic (the chances of that is one out of a thousand over the period of ten thousand years). Xisuma would probably be known for that because seriously, there's less than a hundred and fifty Voidwalkers left in all over Minecraft. It's bound to spread. Ex would probably be known for going through the previously impossible tasks of curing Enderkind.

-Ex doesn't swear. He just... doesn't. If he does, you know something extremely bad happened.

---☆◇☆---

The relationship between the Void brothers is probably on the level of telepathic. They could probably have a conversation with just their eyes.

Lmao I could just imagine a scene where X and Evil X are just staring at each other and the Hermits are like 'what the-'

Zedaph:
Zed is a Voidwalker that was raised in an overworld. He doesn't call himself a proper Voidwalker because he was moved to an Overworld seconds after birth and has never been to the End since.

He calls himself a Traveler and has no problem with it. In fact, Zed prefers being referred to as a Traveler because friends he meets along his journey don't run away. He is one of those rare players who wasn't affected by the change of dimension.

He was raised normally. There was nothing special or mentionable about his childhood except for the fact he liked to experiment with weird things and often took the long way of getting to an answer.

Despite the purple eyes, everyone believes he is a Traveler because he doesn't act like a Voidwalker in the slightest. Even Xisuma was tricked for a few weeks. (The half-faux b e t r a y a l in the Admin's eyes--Zedaph still laughs about that.)

Other Information:
-He's a young Voidwalker.

Hermitcraft
Everyone was looking for a place to settle with good friends. The Travelers wanted to relax for once, the Netherborns wanted a group of nice people, and the Voidwalkers... well, we don't know what Xisuma wanted besides a group of friends. That's a mystery for you, I guess. ;) Perks of being the writer, I know the reason eh heh heh heh-

Team ZIT
When Tango was kicked out of the Nether, he was blindly stumbling around the Overworld in hopes to find someone that would help him. Impulse was kind enough to help him, though he was wary at first. The two warmed up to each other after a couple days, but of course, there were those awkward moments because of the difference in species.

Then Zed kind of waltzed into their life--no, jk, he fell from the sky, a portal malfunction. The two helped him, thinking he was just a really weird traveler.

They have been inseparable, and when they all were in Hermitcraft... oh dear, how Xisuma managed that, I haven't got a clue.

All three of them are about the same age, they're all less than a hundred years old. (Natural permadeath for Impulse would be at around a hundred so... ye.)

Other Information:
-Bdubs (Traveler) has a fear of the night because of an attack at midnight that left most of his village dead.

-Beef won't tell anyone what the stains on his apron thingy is. Most don't think it's blood but... you never know.

-Cleo actually did die. She was brought back to life by a Traveler magic user.

-The creeper skin on Doc (Traveler) is just an appearance but since creeper DNA was injected into his body because of s c i e n t i s t s, he's deathly afraid of cats.

-Hypno can actually hypnotize people.

-Keralis (Traveler) chooses to mispronounce things because pronouncing things correctly is overrated.

-Jevin can melt into a puddle because he's a slime.

-Joe's glasses are the same ones he's had since he was young because his vision is still the same. (Traveler)

-Mumbo (Traveler) doesn't like water in the slightest. It's not a phobia, he just really dislikes it.

-Before Season Seven started, Ren (Traveler) broke the fourth wall and yoinked Star Wars for his theme.

-Both Scar (Traveler) and Cub (Traveler) have Vex magic. Since I wasn't there for most of that, I'd say just keep it the same as everyone else.

-Stress (Traveler) is really in tune to the Overworld. She has nature magic. Not many people think it's magic. They think it's just design and clothing switches. But no, it's actually magic.

-TFC (Traveler) joined Hermitcraft because he wanted to stop exploring the overworld. He also wanted to be with a group of people that he could act like the father figure for. (Both he and Xisuma share that father figure status.)

-xB (Traveler) was saved by Xisuma in the Overworld after he pushed off a mountain by a group of idiots. Xisuma got protective, told off the idiots for almost permadeathing another player, and as soon as he found out xB had nowhere to do, offered him a place in Hermitcraft.

-If False and Wels sparred, it would go either way. It just depends on who's having a good day and who's not. (The first time, however, Wels went easy on her because he felt bad, but whoop-di-do, False threw Wels into a tree.)

Two things concerning these backstories:
1. I left out half of one of the Hermit's backstories.
2. I didn't include two character's backstory even though one is vital to the book that comes with this AU (the other would just be for lore sake).

They would spoil my plot and plans for the books that go with this AU.

If you ask me what I left out, I will only reply with a ;) because I do not want to spoil it, or have the possibility that you will spoil it to others.

Anyways, if there are any parts of any backstories you'd like me to write, let me know and I can add it to the list. I already wrote X and Ex's argument (the start of it). I'm planning to write Grian's escape from the Watchers, X finding out about Zedaph's bloodline, Wels' and Hels' first meeting, their secret being exposed, and some other miscellaneous things I had ideas for.

As a side note, my English teacher said something and I think it oddly fits this AU: "Don't question the system, just trust it."

I'm making that this AU's motto.

Thank you for taking the time to read! Again, if you have any questions or want to add something to a backstory (or give me ideas for an unwritten one), feel free to comment!

Have a fantastic rest of your day/night while I cry myself to sleep because I wrote 2k words of this today
