Midnight Meandering [Jevin]
(June 21, 2021)
Am I writing out what canonically happened because I'm lazy and didn't feel like writing anything else? Yeah...
Warnings: spoilers to the animation jevin posted because apparently people haven't seen it, unedited because I'm tired
Category: lore, action, angst
Word Count: about 650
Honestly the only thing I remember about Jevin is that his vocabulary is rather Zoomer-like
--------
A glow behind a dark oak tree caught his eye, and Jevin froze in his wandering tracks. He would have thought it was maybe a player holding a torch or just a torch speared into the ground if not for the fact the light was green.
A green light in a vanilla world.
What.
He rubbed his eyes. Surely he was hallucinating. If this world was the world Xisuma had given him for Hermitcraft, he was sure it didn't have mods like that.
Another look and... no, it was still green.
Cautiously and stealthily (well, as stealthily as a blue slime in a dark oak forest could be), he stepped closer to the... light source. If it could be considered one.
Well, whatever it may be, it better not be a trap. Wels would not let him hear the end of it if he got stuck in some stupid situation. '... Bruh, following the path in a dark forest at midnight is what the idiots in horror movies do, don't do that. You're not that stupid, are you?' It didn't help that Jevin could hear the knight saying those exact words. With a smirk. And a sarcastic tone. And-
Pushing the imagine of Wels laughing his butt off while he got stuck in said stupid situation, his eyes landed on the green light source as he rounded the bush.
It was slime.
Glowing slime.
In a rather distinct path.
What the h-
Jevin dug the heel of his palms into his eyes again, then blinked hard when it didn't disappear. A few chunks away and past multiple trees, the light source intensified.
Call him an idiot, but he had nothing better to do, trap or not. Listen, it was the middle of the night in a dark oak forest. He was sleep deprived and didn't know where he was anyways, wouldn't sticking to the light be better than wandering off?
Well, apparently at the end of the path was a crater that glowed intensely. As he got closer, Jevin peered into the it and stopped short with surprise. He didn't know what he expected, but a glowing pool of whatever the glowing slime substance should have been at the top of his list (which it wasn't).
What kind of sorcery was this? Even in his exhausted state, he didn't think standard code would pull something off like this in vanilla Minecraft. If it was, then... rest in peace to Minecraft law.
But suddenly, the unexpected stench of... obnoxiously strong chlorine and void ozone and an unpleasant prick of static crept up behind him, right on the verge of overwhelming his senses. His ears filled with the sound of what could only be described as Ren's mock lightsabers from his Star Wars phase (it had to happen at some point, y'know). And before Jevin could flinch, or even comprehend, a firm, cold hand on his shoulder kept him from turning, and each point of contact between the two players—it just couldn't have been anything else—made Jevin's skin crawl with uncomfortable electric sparks.
He couldn't tell if he stopped breathing because of fear, or surprise, or focusing his attention on the electricity too much, but he wasn't breathing, and, y'know, being a living being, that's kind of concerning.
They squeezed his shoulder not all too kindly, and by the quiet sound of modulated breathing becoming ever so slightly louder, they had leaned closer, already way too close for Jevin's comfort.
"One down, twenty-plus to go," a familiar and distorted voice whispered in his ear.
And before Jevin could even yelp, a second gloved hand shoved against his back—so hard that it broke the surface of his form for a moment—sending him tumbling into the obscure substance below.
Jevin would be lying if he said he didn't scream even for a brief moment.
As soon as his body met the green slime, both substances bled into each other, and he sank far quicker than he had anticipated during his three second free fall. Jevin tried to move—he really did, but at that point, it was as easy as trying to remove himself from sponges.
The last thing he saw before the green slime blurred his vision was the angry glow of two blood-red eyes.

A few things I wanted to say after this
-I didn't mention this in the one shot because I got lazy, but Jevin probably lost his communicator or it got disabled by Evil X, thus why he couldn't call for help or see who was online.
-You can tell which part I spent the most time on lmao
-And could evil!Jevin be called Kevin
Thank you for reading, have a good day :D
