Visor and feathers; horns and claws 1

A server is only supposed to have one admin, and perhaps a moderator or two to help the admin, but not more than one admin. If two active admins we're to both be on a singular server (that wasn't extremely big, which would require more than one admin to keep it working efficiently) untold things were said to happen. No one knew what these untold things were, since no one had ever survived to tell the tale of a server with two admins. So every admin was strictly told to never let another admin in unless it said another admin had revoked all their status as an admin before joining. Which is the exact reason why Grian, the former admin of EVO, could join Hermitcraft no problem.

But you see, you can never really take away an Amins powers. An Admin retiring is just them saying that they'll never use their powers again, not said powers being stripped from them. Imagine it a bit like retiring for real, you might not do your job anymore but that doesn't mean you still don't know how to.

So it was less that two Admins were on the server, but more both their powers not being active and clashing together. So as long as there was only one active Admin using their powers everything was fine.

Thing is...sometimes you forget about that little fact. Sometimes you is Grian. Sometimes, sometimes is now. Yeah Grian had used his Admin powers again. But you can't really blame him for it, since he had no clue they would activate in the situation.

Here's the reason they activated again: Xisuma had asked Grian for help to look at some coding, he himself having a bit of trouble in his sleeping deprived state, knowing the other admin had to deal with a lot of it on EVO. Since all he would be doing was looking and not doing anything, they assumed it would be fine. And it was fine for a while, it was only when Grian's wing gently grazed the holographic screen they'd been looking at as he turned to address X appropriately that everything went to shit.

Grian felt it first, having been the one to touch the screen, a slow burning feeling spread through his body until everything felt like it was ablaze with the force of ten suns. X would have helped his writhing friend had he not been in a similar situation himself.

The last coherent thought he had was to get them both to a big, empty, open space, as he had started feeling his bones snap and grow underneath his skin, making the burning even worse. His magic answers to his mental pleas and dumped them both into plaines biom far from the main part of the server. And then, he passed out cold, body still writhing and twitching with pain as he lost consciousness.

When the admin woke up his entire body ached, but the pain was thankfully gone. He blinked a few times to get his eyes to focus, and when they did he was faced with rabbit sniffing at his face. But as soon as it saw him open his eyes it jumped away in fear. Brushing it off as a rabbit acting like a rabbit he moved to stand...only to stare in shock down at where his hands had been replaced by paws. He let out a roary bleat as he scrambled onto all fours.

He whirled around to get a better look at his new form, easily doing so due to his now long body. His tail was long and wippy, but as he flexed it he could tell he would probably be able to pick up objects with it. His back legs had hooves, and he had a mane like thing too. And if he had to guess he'd say he had horns too, if the weight on his head was anything to go by. His fur was green like his normal skin, actually all of his fur seemed to be like his normal armour, but his tail was the same red of his new strider skin.

Xisuma was brought snapped out of looking over his new body by the sound of a low growl combined with the shuffling of something big, but maybe not as big as him, slowly standing up. His now longer face turned to the sources of the sound to find a weird cat like thing, which looked to be some weird combination of a caracal and a brown peacock with red tints, slowly rising to its paws unsteadily. It hadn't noticed him yet, but if the way it's sharp violet eyes searched the area was anything to judge by then he would be seen soon.

And X was right, it didn't take long for the cat (griffin? That's what it would be, right?)  to spot him. It tensed up at first, but then it focused in on his face and its stance lossend. Safe to say having a wild animal, which would kinda technically count as his predator?, looking at his face with wide kitten-like eyes was not something he'd expected. So when it took a step towards him he backed up, but the cat was faster so it was already rubbing up against him before he could get back. Xisuma started raising a paw to bat him away, but the scent on the creature stopped him. Tea, jungle, vanilla, and a slight scent of gold. Grian! That was what Grian smelled like (don't ask how he knows. We don't talk about the drunk jungle sleepover. EVER). Which made this cat thing Grian.

"Grian?" He tentatively asked, tail twitching as a show of his unscertiny. His question got a purr as a response, and a furry head butted up against his chin.

"The one and only!" Grain chirped as he finally backed away from the elder. "And sorry about rubbing up against you and all of that, I kinda got the need to make sure you were okay and instincts told me that was the way to do it."

"That's some pretty weird instincts." Xisuma huffed, eyes dancing with amusement at the shorter's clear bashfulness of his new instincts. "But this is a pretty weird situation, so I guess it makes sense."

Grian looked around the failed lazily, wings twitching at his sides, "Tell me about it. Where are we even? I don't recognize this place at all." He took a sniff of the air around them, "I can't even smell the stalest scent of a Hermit, so no one has probably ever been here. Well maybe they have flown over, but they never got close or landed."

Xisuma tried to access his admin screens, but nothing came up. He tried again, nothing. "And I can't check either, I can't access my screens."

Grian growled low in his throat, the feathers on the back of his neck fluffing up. "How are we even like this? And how do we turn back?"

"I think this is the side effect of when two admins both use their powers," X started, like it wasn't the obvious reason as to how this happened, "Maybe our powers we're trying to each take over but neither could so they were just thrown back into us? And since most normal bodies can't handle such an influx of both familiar and forein magic they changed to forms that could? But I can't think of a way to reverse it."

"Doesn't the old myths we heard horror stories about talk about how 'no one had survived to tell the tale'? That means something happened to the admins to start attacking people on their server." Grian said, eyes wide as he looked down at his paws, which with a flex revealed sharp black claws. He turned to look at Xisuma with scared eyes and a shake in his voice, "Does that mean we're going to attack the others? If so then I'm not going anywhere! I'm not hurting them!"

"Shhhh, calm down Grian." X soothed, rubbing his cheek against the others tanned one. "I don't think that's how it happened. And I think even less you'll hurt any Hermit, it's not like you."

"What do you mean? What do you think happend then?" The builder-turned-griffin asked, still pressed up against the biggers side.

"The server imploded with too much magic. Most admins only have admin magic to their name, but I don't. I still have my void powers."

"And I'm a Watcher." Grian added, finally telling someone other than Mumbo his most well kept secret. "I think our natural magic combined saved us."

X blinked down at him in shock, that was unexpected. But he quickly shook himself, "See? No need to feat then! We're fine, and we're going to be fine when we get back. Also, thank you for trusting to tell me."

The tan colored griffin (was he even a griffin? He was really only a big caracal with the wings, tail, and a few feathers here and there, off a peacock) smiled slightly up at him. "It's the least I can do for all you've done for me, you deserve to know."

The two layed down on the ground next to each other after that, deciding to plan what to do before running off in new bodies they virtually knew nothing about. In the end they decided to take the rest of this day to get used to no longer being human, and then tomorrow they'd practice hunting and such, so they wouldn't starve once they were off. With a plan made they sat for a while longer, just casually talking about what they'd been doing recently.

They had been in the middle of talking about the new nether when Grian spotted something in the tree line of the forest near the plains biome, his silence made Xisuma follow his gaze. And there, just inside the tree line, a flash of sunny blond hair peeking out behind an oak tree.

"What's that?" X asked, keeping his voice low in hopes of the person not hearing whatever sound he'd make to them.

It took Grian a while to answer, eyes still trained in the trees, "That's Zedaph." He finally breathed out, already moving to his paws, "Zed's here! We have to go talk to him - or something! He could help us!"

"Grian! Wait!" But the big cat was already bounding away, leaving Xiusma to pull himself up and then after him.

Zedpah, seeing the two creatures he'd been spying on now bounding towards him, fled to the cave he'd set up camp in. Yeah, maybe not the best idea when being chased. But he didn't realize this until he had run to the end of the very small cave. "Aww crud."

The sounds of paws and hooves clicking against stone made him turn around and come face to face with a cat-bird thing and a deer-dragon. He raised the torch he'd used to light his way to the end and waved it in their faces, making them back up. "Hah! Yeah, that's right! You better back up."

Grian cooed softly, ears lowered as he bowed down to be shorter than Zedaph and to show he meant no harm. And when he saw that his actions weren't being perceived as a threat he slowly approached, being sure to keep his head down as he walked closer.

Zedaph watched him do so, eyes transfixed on the beast's own. He recognized those eyes, a feeling of familiarity seeping in, but he couldn't pinpoint it. But it wasn't until he got a closer look at the cat that he realized where from.

"Grian? Is-is that you?"

<This might be one day late, but I think the extra day was worth it! Not only could I think of more to write, but I also had a blast playing Pokemon Shield! So yeah, I don't regret a thing! And as you can see, this is a part one! So there will be a second part made. Also here's how X looks in this, Grian will be made for the next part. (Also any ships you want to see? I'm open to whatever as long as it isn't Grian x Xisuma!)

And with that all being said and done, stay safe and have a wonderful time everyone!>
