Of fishes and glasses
<Requested by: Thatoneguywhoexists 'I see there are a lot of suggestions here but if you can find time after you've done everyone else's requests I would be grateful if you could do a Grian x False fluff' (i'm gonna start adding what people requested from now on, just to get you guys in the know)>
If there was ever one thing False had never expected for herself was to find a man who well and truly loved her for all she was, every imperfection and flaw. But yet here she was, with someone who was just that and more.
She and Grian had been together back since the start of the Dragon Bros thing, her being invited to the group giving her that little push to finally ask him out. She had asked for the others to clear out, though she did subtly ask Bdubs to help her make a decent little dinner set for her, which he did with a knowing grin. And after doing her best at making food she eventually asked Stress to help her out, which the short woman did even though they were on different sides, Stress' reason being she wants to help, False just thinks she wants something to gush about. So after retrieving the steak with herb butter, made just right for their new dragon biology, from the other she went back to the Dragon Bros base and prepared the table before starting the wait for Grian.
It didn't take long for the man to show, but it still felt like forever to the blond woman, because as much as she could kick ass she was not the best at expressing her love, and a dinner was pretty straight forward in expressing it in her opinion. But if the lopsided grin and deep blush she got when he saw the table was anything to judge by, he wasn't thinking things very far from her own thoughts. (Later she would learn that the stake that Stress had made was called a Boyfriend stake, and since Grian was getting into cocking more he recognized the dish for what it was)
The dinner was a raving success, with good food and nice company and talking. And by the end the both of them went to sleep with a second date planned and something new to call each other. That was in season 6, and they had now moved onto season 7 and things were even better. Grian was for one way more open about things he used to keep to himself, to afraid from past experiences to do to relatively new people, like his love for robotics or his glasses. Oh yes glasses, False absolutely loved them as soon as she saw them, which gave Grian a confidence boost to wear them more. He didn't wear them all the time, and not all days, but he did wear them.
Today was such a day where he was wearing them, seeing as he was writing out some things in a book and didn't want to misspell anything. Also because False insisted on it, gleefully grinning at him as they planned their little get away from the rest of the Hermits. You see she had plans to take them to a coral reef a far bit away, she had found the stunning reef, which was so unlike any she'd seen before, on her travels and noting its beauty she made note of it so she could bring Grian there one day. And today was that day.
"I still don't see why I need these." Grian grumbled as he adjusted his glasses, "We're just going to a reef."
False laughed as he scrunched up his nose, glasses falling out of place once again. Taking pity she walked up and fixed them, giving the dirty blonde a forehead kiss afterwards, "Because, babe, you'll get upset if you mess up anything on your notes whilst we're there. And I'd rather you huff and puff now rather than poute over bad notes late."
Grian grumbled for a bit, but didn't say anything else on the subject. Seeing that her boyfriend was not complaining anymore she started leading him out and getting them to a good place for take off, "Now remember to follow me and not overtake me, we don't want you getting lost without me."
He gave her a nod, as well as a smile. He was far too excited, no matter how much he may complain, to fly off to goddess knows where. So False led the journey, her elytra, which she'd painted to look like the wings of an eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly during one of the girl nights, practically glowing in the warm sunlight. Their destination didn't take long to reach, and as they landed Grian couldn't help but to look over the coral reef with wonder.
"Wow, this place is amazing." He whispered walking over and crouching by the waters edge, fingertips ghosting the clear waters surface, "I've never seen anything like this before!" And he really hadn't, not even in a book. The entire reef was basically just a circle, though there was still coral everywhere, with a nice open spot in the middle. The reef was well lit up, and with the water sparkling from the sunlight it made everything just that more exciting.
"Some of the fish also look a bit different." False mentioned, pointing out a white blob in the water among the other fishes.
"There's albines here too?" Grian gasped in awe, eyes shining behind his glasses, previous troubles with them forgotten as he gazed at the fish, "I don't think I've ever seen one of these on a private server before!"
False smiled softly as she saw her small boyfriend start writing in his book, no doubt would be soon be going in the water to get on for himself. So deciding to not make him get wet, she knew, no matter how little he tried to show or say, how much he really didn't like getting his wings wet, so she decided that she'd be getting wet instead. So taking off her boots she rolled up the pant legs before taking a bucket and wading into the water, but catching the white fishes turned out to be harder than she'd first thought. False was standing still as she saw one come close, determined to finally catch one. Surprisingly Grian was still writing away, huh, he must really have a theory going on, so he didn't notice any of her antics (thank fuck for that, False doens't know how many times that fish avaided her and nearly made her look like a fool by slipping). And after waiting for the albino fish to get close enough she finally caught it. Silently celebrating to herself she made her way back to Grian, the warm sand sticking to her feet as she walked, with a victorious smile. Gently setting the bucket down by Grian's side she got his attention, "Hey, you're interested in that albino fish, right?"
He nodded at her, a bit confused, "Uh, yeah, yeah I am. Why do you ask?"
With a gleeful smirk she motioned towards the bucket, "Well look what I got you!" She moved out of the way for him, seeing as she was standing a bit in the way. It didn't take Grian long to see the white fish in the water filled bucket, "False! Did you catch one of them?"
"I did!" She grinned, satisfaction filling her as Grian looked at the fish with wonder.
"You didn't have to!" He argued, looking up in her eyes, "Just me seeing it was cool enough."
False shrugged, "Eh, I felt like you really wanted it, so I got it for you. You know, to just have as a pet and also to try and see why there's albino fish here."
Grian leaned over and gave her a kiss, and she melted into it as it went on. It wasn't hated, not fast, nor was it intense by any means, but it was love and honestly soft love was a very nice way to kiss. Not too much lip pressing or fierceness, just slow and warm love. The buildr broke it off with a Grin, cheeks now lightly dusted with a warm pink, "Thank you False, I love it."
She gave him another peck on the cheek and cuddled up to him properly, "I'm glad you like it. And I love you as well."
"And I love you too." Smiled Grian as he leaned against her shoulder comfortably, "I mena, you got me an albino fish! I have to love you now, it's basically law!"
"Dork." False muttered fondly, but Grian didn't hear her, already dozing off in her arms, Brushing away a few curls she smiled at his peacefully sleeping face. She would move them, but she didn't want to accidentally wake him up, so for the foreseeable future she'd be sitting here with her boyfriend peacefully resting up against her.
Honestly, it was as if he was a kitten. All he was missing was the extra limbs and the fur, he already had most of the other feline instincts (purring, for one, which False loved and cherished for), and then he'd be a cat!
She quickly shook her head, nope, not going there! She was not going to imagine Grian in a furry costume! (plus just him with glasses was way cuter than all of the costumes the furries had combined)
So yeah, here's what we've learnt! False is a useless cook and Grian knows his food, False shows Grian a cool reef with albino fishes, False then also catches one just for Grian and now their napping.
Conclusion? Fals and Grian are in love and False really likes it when Grian wears his glasses.
<Late night finish, but I still really liked making it! The request are a bit harder to get started on, but once going they tend to go smoothly from there. Now I have nothing left to add, so:
Stay safe, and also have a wonderful time everyone!>
