Little Vixen 2

If you had asked Wels what he had expected his weekend to consist of, being told a small fox Grian was on the loose and to be on the lookout for him wasn't very far up. But here we are, with Scar holding a server wide meeting and telling them all about he may or may not have lost Grian after a potions accident.

Hermitcraft ladies and gentleman!

They had all assumed that he was somewhere in the jungle, maybe even still in Scar's village, but after a day's search they were forced to look more broadly. It was also at this point that they had decided to search independently, to cover more ground whilst still working on their own projects and conducting business like normal.

Wels was just coming back from the shopping district when he saw a black armored person climb out of his storage. Hels. He ran towards his clone, his footsteps alerting the other who turned to him with a sneer. Said sneer was returned, "What are you doing in my storage Hels?"

"Taking what you don't need." The other hissed, tail swishing in agitation. It was then that Wels looked at what the other carried. Raw steak? And if his hands were full then it meant that he'd taken a lot of it. "Why are you after raw meat?" Wels wondered in honest confusion, seriously this made no sense at all.

"I have found a better use for them than just keeping them in a chest." Hels said, just wanting his clone to leave so he could get back, "And why does it even matter to you anyways?"

"Because your, oh I don't know, stealing my resources?" Wels asked with a deadpan tone of voice.

The other drake growled low in his throat, red eyes glaring daggers at his counterpart, "Well, if you must so desperately know, I'm feeding an animal I've taken in recently."

"A pet?" Wels asked, surprised, "I did not think you would care for anything other than your goals."

"A companion." Hels corrected, "He's my pet as much as I am from this world. Plus I think he might just bite you for calling him such a degrading word, he's quite independent."

As Wels was processing all of this new information Hels slunk away, making sure that he was not being followed. He knew the other would be curious about his new little furry friend, and he had no intentions of even risking Wels finding his hideout.

He walked into his hidden house, Cadmean/Grian sat at the cabin next to the door, violet eyes looking intently at the man. Hels chuckled and ducked down enough for the fennec fox to jump onto his shoulders, and he then walked to place away his stolen goods, "You better like this Cad, I don't want to have argue with Wels for nothing."

Grian let out a small chirp of surprise, of course this man had something to do with Wels! But by the sounds of things it wasn't a very nice something. So he'd had an argument with Wels, probably over the meat he assumed, so did he steal it? The fox jumped down and tried to the best of his abilities to mime his question to Hels, with decent success. Hels guesses that Cadmean is trying to ask where all the food came from, and he guessed the fox was curious due to the large amount, "I stole it from Wels, dude who looks like me but, you know, more knight in shining armor-ry than me."

Grian wanted to be upset with Hels, but just couldn't. And to be fair he might have even done the same, no he would have 100% done the same. Plus the meat smelt delicious, so you don't see him complaining!

-Back with Wels-

After Hels had run off Wels sat down to think. At first it was to figure out what kind of pet his clone had gotten, probably a dog or a fox. Slitted blue eyes blinked at a wall as he repeated that in his head, a fox. Grian disappeared a day ago, and now Hels suddenly had a pet? It was just too good, too much added up to just be coincidence.

He went back to where he and Hels met and sniffed around for a bit before he caught the scent of meat still in the air. Thank you sensitive sense of smell and lingering scents!

The knight jogged after the scent, not willing to have it start fading before he could find Hels' base of operations. He eventually came up on a dark oak forest, nothing unusual there, but he also picked up a scent that isn't meat or Helse. Grian's scent. Bingo.

He drew his sword, taking extra care as to not step on any twigs or branches he advanced through the dense forest. Soon the smells grew stronger as faint lights slowly grew through the trees. A little cottage made out of nether materials and dark oak was in the middle of a man made clearing, if the lightly terraformed ground was anything to go by.

Not wasting any time Wels strode up to the house, pushing the door (no slamming here, Wels is a gentleman through and through) open with a little more force than needed (but that doesn't mean he can't be a little aggressive). Hels whirled around at the sound of the door opening, sword in his hand in a second, "Are we sure I'm the evil on here? It is after all not very nice to break in."

"I have a valid reason." Wels hissed, eyes scanning the room for his serveremate-turned fox, "Now where is your new fox friend?"

Hels' eyes widened before narrowing at the other's words, his sword held more tightly in his hands, "How do you know that Cadmean is a fox?"

"Cadmean, is not who you think he is," Wels started explaining, not moving from his place by the door, "He is a member of this server named Grian, who has been turned into a fox due to a potions accident."

Hels turned behind him, where he had heard the soft pitter-patter of Cadmean's paws on the wood floor, "Cad, is it true? Are you really a Hermit?"

Grian lowered his ears, and then his body, down to the floor. He then gave a nod, unwilling to look his new friend in the eyes. He kept his head down even as he heard Hels' steps grow closer, "Cadmean? Can you look at me?" There was a whisper of a plea in the words, but not enough to hear unless you were looking, "Cad please, just look at me for a second."

The violet eyed fox looked up, and was met with kind red eyes and a kind face, "I'm not mad at you, Cad, trust me I'm not." Grian uncurled a bit more, and experimentally placed a paw on Hels' bent knee. His paw was then gently taken by a bigger clawed hand, which held his small paw in a soft grip, "See? I'm not mad."

Grian's eyes lit up as he bounded up to his friend, wrapping around his leg and twisting around it like a cat. Hels laughed and picked his little friends up in his arms, grinning down at him with sharp teeth showing, "So still friends?" His answer was a gentle bop to the nose, which made him let out a rumble of laughter.

Over by the door Wels was looking between the two in surprise, "How? You've known each other just over a day and you're deep in a friendship already?" He spluttered, looking between fox and clone with wide eyes, "What is going on?"

"What can I say? Perfection knows perfection!" Hels said with a wicked grin, and a wink directed at Grian. Said fox barked in agreement, "Now are you coming in and explaining everything to me or are you going to leave?"

Deciding that things were already weird enough he walked in fully and closed the door, he was already having a brain melt might as well be productive whilst in a state of disbelief.

Of course Grian was then later brought to Scar and given a potion to help turn him back, and the first thing he did was go back to Hels and have a proper conversation with him. He even managed to bring him out of his cottage, and plans of server wide destruction, and out to the shopping district. Anyone that walked by would just look on in confusion everytime Hels called Grian Cadmean or a nickname for it.

And Wels? Well he was still debating if everything was real or if it was all just the weirdest fever dream he'd ever had. Hels swiftly reminded him that he wasn't dreaming by pinching his collarbone, much to the knights displeasure.

And that is the story of Wels' weird weekend and Grain's trip to befriending yet another "evil hermit". Seriously the most damage any of the "evils" could do was say threatening words and create harmless traps, cough five block dirt pit cough.

<Okay I'm not super happy with it but I literally don't care anymore, I'm tired, maybe sick, and starting school in less than two days. So at this point I couldn't care less. But ignoring my current state, I only have one other story idea left before I'm out of one-shot ideas. Which means request will soon be open, but not yet so hold your ideas. And yeah, thats it!

So thank you all for reading! Stay safe and have a wonderful time everyone!>
