You break what you love the most, and he's destroyed

Grian was really enjoying his time on the Hermitcraft server, and he was enjoying the people their even more. One Hermit specifically, Scar. He wasn't afraid too admit to himself that he was crushing hard on the brunette, but he couldn't tell the other. And he didn't, to afraid of rejection.

Months went on and soon the build of happened, and Grian could feel the two get closer. They'd talk for ages about whatever, laughing together long into the night.

...And then the Hippies vs Area 77 thing started, and just like a switch Scar changed. He acted normal with all the other Hermits, but when with Grian he was cold, like the dirty blond was just someone in his way.

It hurt Grian, mor then he could ever imagine. And the builder just let it happen, wanting to believe it was all for the Area 77 act, but deep down he knows that wasn't the case.

He spent many nights thinking about this, and this was one such night. Grian was walking around the outskirts of Area 77, only glancing up briefly from the ground to look at Scar's, or Captain Angry eyes's, little house. What had happened between the two of them? Did he do something wrong? Or was Scar pretending all this time?

Grian was so distracted by his thoughts that he didn't hear anyone approach him until the hilt of a sword was slammed into the back of his head, knocking him out almost immediately.

When he woke up it was in a holding cell, a Area 77 holding cell to be more specific. But this one looked to be smaller then the other, and in a completely different place to boot. Was this what they kept deep underground? One small cell? He expected more, but it might still be under construction so he didn't question it to much.

Grian was alone for four hours, thought it felt more like days (no wonder people breakout of prison, it's super boring), before he heard footsteps approaching his cell. Out of the shadows walked Scar, and it was a really cliche walk out of shadows too, ten out of ten!

"Took you long enough!" grinned Grian, not seeing Scar's cold look, "I was really getting board! Got any fun games to play down here?"

Scar was quite, not saying anything. Which unnerved Grian, Scar would usually say something, but the other was strangely quiet. But he did open the door and walk in, going straight up to Grian.

"Uh, hey Scar? What are you doing?" asked the dirty blond, finally noticing the cold dead look in the landscapers eyes, "Are you ok?"

Instead of answering the question Scar instead activated his Vex magic, using it to form chains he used to tie Grian down.

"Can you please stop?" asked Grian weekly, "This isn't funny anymore!"

Once again Scar avoided the question, he should get a metal for it at this point, "Hold still"

Grian didn't get time to question the command before a syringe filled with a shining red liquid was stabbed into him. He gasped out at the sudden pain. But that was nothing compared to what he felt when the liquid was injected into him, it felt like his blood was boiling hot searing pain spreading all over his body. He curled into himself, hoping the pain would either go away soon or that he'd fall unconscious, he didn't care as long as the pain went away.

Scar didn't seem the slightest bit effected by this, in fact, he was actually taking notes. After a few minutes of note taking he eventually left, leaving Grian to writhe in pain on the cold stone floor.

Grian watched him leave, tears gathering in his eyes, hurt and pain being the only things he could feel. But the hurt was soon also replaced by even more pain as he felt his skin tear and bones break, Grian was pretty sure you could hear his screams of pain all over the world. And just as the pain was fading darkness consumed his vision, and he accepted this and gladly fell into the land of the unconscious.

Scar was entering Area 77 when he was jumped by both Ren and Doc, the two working together to both hold him down. And behind them was the rest of the server, Cub amongst them looking directly at Scar, his eyes specifically.

"What are you doing Doc?" hissed the brunette, "Ren's the enemy!"

"No, he's my friend," said Doc, hurt in his voice, "Your the enemy"

"Don't be silly! He's the one who's trying to break in!" yelled Scar, agitated, "I'm trying to stop him from doing that! How am I the enemy?"

"Your not the enemy, huh?" asked Ren, eyes shining with pure rage, "Then where is Grian?"

"Hey, guys," interrupted Cub, and all eyes turned to him, "I don't think that's Scar"

"What?" asked Xisuma confused, "Are you sure? That looks like Scar to me"

"That's not what I mean. What I mean is that it's not the Scar we know who's in control right now, it's someone else. Look at his eyes, there pink," explained Cub, "Scar's eyes are green"

It was silent after this, the Hermits absorbing the information. Until Xisuma let out a gasp, "Oh my god, the error"

"The error?" asked Mumbo.

"There was an error when we first got to Hermitville," elaborated the admin, "Scar was the one who found it, I think it slowly corrupted him"

"Can you fix it?" asked Zedaph, concerned for his Vex friend.

"Give me a few days and I should be able to fix it. Meanwhile you all look for Grian, he can't be to far from here," instructed X, and the others immediately got to work. Though Doc stayed to act as guard for Scar.

It took a weak for Xisuma to fix the error, but Grian wasn't found. They could only hope Scar knew where to find the short Hermit.

They laid Scar down in the middle of the hippie camp, and then X activated his little anti-error code. The effects where immediate, and Scar stopped struggling in the bonds as his eyes faded back to green.

Seeing the familiar eye color Cub ran up to release his fellow Vex, "Scar! Thank god, I've missed you"

"Cub?" asked Scar hesitantly, "What's going on?"

And so they explained about the error, "-nd we have yet to find Grian, you wouldn't happen to remember where you put him?" finished Doc.

Scar thought for a minute, trying to remember what he did when corrupted. And when he eventually remembered his eyes widened, and he quickly rushed to Area 77, the others following close behind him.

"Scar! Where are you going?" yelled False, having to raise her voice since there was quita a distance between Scar and the rest of the group.

"To Grian! He's under the control tower!"

The Hermits quickly hurried after him after that, following him down a long series of tuneless until they eventually got to a room with one cell in it. And as they walked up to it they froze in horror. They couldn't believe what they where seeing, "Holy shit..."

There in the cell was a massive slender dragon like creature, it had four wings from what they could see and one long tail. Big ears and a lot of neck fluff.

Could-could this be Grian? Surely it wasn't, but, the more they looked the more they could see it. Purple eyes the exact same shade, wings identical to Grian's. It was so, this was Grian. But how did this happen? What did corrupted Scar do?

Speaking of who, Scar was looking at Grian with regret. And he winched when the other whined upon seeing him. God, he had ruined everything.

"I'm sorry," croaked Scar, looking through the window, "I'm so sorry, Grian"

And the brunette damn near cried when Grian backed away from him, clearly afraid. How could he ever fix this?

"Scar," said Cub gently, placing a hand on the others shoulder, "We'll fix this, we're Hermits after all"

"But how long will it take?" whispered Scar, "A few weeks? Months? Years? Cub, this could take decades even! And he'll never talk to me, this is all my fault after all..."

"Hey, don't say that. I'm sure he'll talk to you faster if we explain about the error" comforted the talker Vex.

"Yeah," agreed Doc, "And it might take awhile, but that doesn't mean we can't fix this"

Scar smiled weakly at all the Hermits, "I know, and I'm not giving up until I physically can't anymore. Now how about you all get Grian out of here? I would help, but he's afraid of me"

"He is," agreed Keralis, "How about you, me and Bubbles go build a new little house for Grian?"

"Oh! I already have some ideas!" said Bdubs, leading his two new build partners away to leave the rest alone.

Grian will always remember this, he'll be traumatized by this. But they'll help him through it all, because their Hermits. And as long as your a Hermit, your family. And family helps each other, and they'd all fall dead before abandoning one of their own.

<>Angst was requested, I did my best to comply. It was supposed to be extremely angsty, but it seems all my angst has been put into TRMAS. So this is the angst you get here.

Here's a picture of how Grian looks:

Have a wonderful time everyone!<>
