Finally!
Grian was exhausted, both mentally and physically. He had been working on Sahara for two weeks straight now with only 2 hours of sleep, which even for a Watcher wasn't good. So it was of no surprise when he crashed into Scar's giant landscaping tree, and hit the ground with a thud. This alerted Scar, who was checking in on his shop when he heard it. Quickly putting down what he was doing the brunete hurried to the source of the sound, turning the corner he saw something that made his whole being fill with worry.
There on the ground lay an unmoving Grian, his feathered wings looked to be unnaturally bent, feathers scattered everywhere. Hastily making his way over the scared man could see the small rips and tears in the red oversized sweater, and the small splinters of wood stuck in the builders skin didn't look all that pleasant ether. At this point Scar was in an all out panic, what does he do? Call Cub? In his panicked mind the best idea was to bring Grian to the country club, for some reason. Getting the unconscious man to the club was surprisingly easy, had Grian not been eating properly?
It was now that Scar realized that he had no idea what he was doing, so he called Cub. Who wasn't answering his phone. Since he didn't know what he was doing, Scar decided to just wing it and do what he thought was right.
So he went over to the fallen hermit and tried patching him up, emphasis on tried. Nothing he did really worked. I mean, he was an expert at taking out splinters, seeing as he's had to take them out of his own fingers many times before, but when he got to the wings, he hesitated.
He didn't know how to reset such a delicate appendage, and Scar was afraid he would only make it worse. Suddenly something clicked in his mind, he could just check how to reset a wing. Cub did have a library full of animal care books after all.
After a few minutes of searching he found a book about bird health care, and after thoroughly reading what to do he fixed Grian up.
After a few minutes of him sitting there periodically feeding Grian potions there was the sound of a door creaking open. Cub was back.
Quickly feeding Grian one last potion he made his way to greet his boyfriend. Just as Cub was putting down the last shulker box from his grind, Scar came up and hugged him from the front and buried his face in the taller man's neck, clearly showing he was upset when he didn't say a word.
"What's wrong, Scar?" asked a concerned Cub, who wrapped his arms around his hat wearing lover.
Scar took a shuddering breath, "Grian's in the other room, h-he crashed into my landscaping tree, a-and I- I-"
At this point Scar couldn't form any coherent words, let alone an entire sentence. Cub just kept trying to soothe the brunette, whispering sweet nothings into his ear. Eventually, Scar calmed down enough to tell him about what happened to Grian.
As soon as Scar finished explaining everything Cub hurried to the room to assess the damage for himself. But before he could reach the room a loud crash came from the room. Both vex's quickly made their way into the room only to find Grian laying on the floor giggling like mad with two cats the neither Cub or Scar recognised. The two just looked on, and Scar started to feel better. Grian was alright, there was no need to worry.
The bigger of the two cats keep patting the hurt hermits hand and Grian kept saying 'I don't have any treats for you!'. The happy smile he wore made Scar's heart beat in the same way it did with Cub, with love.
It was now that horror filled the pirates head, did he love Grian? No, he couldn't. He just couldn't! He knows he loves Cub with all his heart, and Grian was competition! But looking over at the builder his heart ached in the same way it did back when he and Cub weren't together. Could... could it possible he loved them both?
This wasn't the first time he thought about this, he really did admire the winged hermit, but this was the first time he actually let himself think about It without dismissing it as either nothing or a schoolyard crush. It was becoming to noticeable at this point to ignore, however.
Scar closed his eyes, thinking of him, Cub, and Grian in a relationship. This was a thing he did with anyone he thought he had an actually important crush on, and it's worked well so far.
And when he opened his eyes again he knew that he loved them both, this definitely wasn't a schoolyard crush and boy if this isn't a complicated situation he didn't know what was.
Unbeknownst to Scar, Cub was think about similar things. But the thing that was different with him, was that he knew Scar liked Grian and who was he to disagree? He loved the guy too. But he was also stuck at crossroads for he didn't know if Grian loved them, or what if he loved only one of them. What happens then? Ultimately he decides to talk with Scar in another room about all of this.
Cub tapt Scar on the shoulder, and once he had the brunettes attention he motioned to another room and did the hand sign for 'You and me talk'. Scar nodded and stepped out of the room with a now gently dosing Grian and then closed the door silently, not wanting to ruin the builders peaceful sleep.
During the short walk to the room both vex's minds raced, both for vaguely different, yet the same, reasons. Scar was afraid that Cub saw, and recognized, the look he was giving Grian and that he would break up with him.
Cub on the other hand was more worried about Grian's reaction, he knew that he and Scar would have to ask Grian very soon or else the opportunity would be lost forever.
"So, what is it you want to say Cub?" asked Scar, feet shuffling nervously, but he still kept a smile on his face. He was probably just overreacting, right?
But the words the taller vex said destroyed those thoughts in an instenes, "Scar, you know I can see the way look at Grian, right?" Scar's thoughts were racing so loudly he almost didn't hear what Cub said next, "And since I also look at him in the same way, even if you can't see it, I say we try asking him out. Together"
The brunette was frozen for what felt like years, mind racing as all sorts of thoughts and emotions passed through. Cub also liked Grian? He wanted them both to ask Grian out? What if Grian rejected them both? Or worse, what if he only liked one of them?
Shaking his head to clear his mind, Scar nodded to Cub. Determined, he agreed to the plan. But when they both turned to leave the room they came face to face with Grian, whose face was ablaze with a deep blush.
Cub opened his mouth to speak, but Grian held up his hand to silence him. The dirty blonde made his way over to Scar, said vex tensed up like a coiled spring. He was expecting the words of rejection that would be uttered out of Grian's mouth, what he wasn't expecting however was Grian's mouth to be on his, (well it was the lips to be exact, but who really cares?) in a determined yet unsure kiss.
Once Scar had fully processed the situation he kissed back with maybe a bit too much force, but Grian didn't seem to mind. If he could, Scar would of stayed like this forever. Sadly, oxygen is a thing people need to survive, so the two broke apart.
Scar caught Cub's eye, and in one swift motion spun Grian into the other vex's waiting arms. The squeak that left the small builders mouth only made an already amazing situation even better.
And it got even better after that for Cub when he pulled Grian into a kiss himself. The two broke apart from the kiss and just basked in the feeling for the moment.
Said moment was also "ruined" when Scar decided it was time for a big hug for him and his boyfriends (Boyfriend and crush? He honestly had no clue.).
Grian laughed as he was squished by the two vex's, currently on a love high. All worries washed away as he melted into the hug. And he, without knowing it, started to purr, like really loudly.
It's easy to say the rest of the day was spent cuddling and getting to know each other at a deeper level. Scar was absolutely ecstatic when he was told he was getting two new cat children. Cub only sighed, what had he gotten himself into?
Bonus: (Mind you this is like a month after what happened earlier in this chapter.)
TFC knew that something had to be done, he had been watching from the shadows (Though that's where you found Zloy and Pixl more often than not) as they danced around each other. Grian kept trying to impress the Concorp duo with all of his builds and works on Sahara, and said duo always took that as a challenge to one up him. So he decided to make the due act on their hidden (Or not as hidden as he thought) crush, something that he would come to regret later.
Building a trap Grian would fall in was easy, he just had to trap the dirty blondes wings making him unable to get out. Once everything was done he set a trap chest so that when Grian opened it he would fall into the trap.
After sending a message saying that he had a chest of concrete and terracotta that he could take, he fled the scene. He of course also made sure the ConVex duo were close by.
When Grian landed he immediately spotted the chest with a sign atop it: "Sorry, I had stuff to work on so I couldn't be there! But here's the materials. -TFC."
Shrugging it off he opened the chest to access the materials, only to find himself falling, and falling fast.
Hitting the ground with a thud he felt something cover his wings, turning his head he saw obsidian. He was stuck, but he could just break out! Easy! But when he went into his inventory to grab a pickaxe he didn't find it, where was it? At this point a slight panic was setting in, how would he get out?
Completely forgetting that he had a communicator he started calling out to any one that was near, voice growing in panic as no one came.
Scar and Cub where in the forest looking for a lily of the valley when they heard Grian's calls. Quickly dropping everything they were doing and rushed to the sound, finding the hole they rushed forward. Looking over the edged they saw Grian thrashing around, wings trapped by obsidian, "GRIAN! Calm down! If you continue thrashing your going to break your wings! We'll be down in a second!" called Cub, already planning all the ways to punish the person behind this.
Grian stopped and looked up at his boyfriends, relief flooding his face. And once they were down they quickly uncovered his wings from their obsidian prisons, the moment he was freed he flung himself into their arms.
The two glanced at each other, "Do you want to go back to your base?"
The shorter shook his head and mumbled, "Country Club."
So that's where they went!
Later when Grian was asleep they went back to look around the area for clues, seeing the chest the two knew who to target. And who am I to say if a few dozen phantoms were trapped in his base later that week?
A little prequel for "Told you"! This has been in the works for awhile now, but it's finally finished! Woo! I'm steadily making my way through all the stories I have backlogged so hopefully I'll get more stuff out soon!
I absolutely love this, babe! Honestly, that part about Scar questioning if he loved Grian reminded me of when I was questioning if I loved you. Also, love the ship, 8/10, will ship again. Roast me if you see any mistakes, cowards.
