Child of the commune
Impulse wasn't all to thrilled to be woken up by the peeping of his communicator at 7 in the morning on a Sunday, but here we are!
Grunting he tried to roll onto his back to get up, only for a pair of arms to lock him in place. Finally opening his eyes and glared at the person, or more at the people who had their arms around him, "Grian, Ren, move, I need to check my communicator"
A whine of displeasure left both of the others mouths, they were both comfortable and didn't want to move. But they moved anyway because last time they didn't listen to Impulse they were locked out of iTrade for a week, so not listening was a no go. Ren was the first to get off, but Grian stubbornly remained. Not that that was a problem, the guy weighed less than a feather. So Impulse could easily get up and do what he needed with Grian still on his back.
Picking up the communicator he turned it on to look at it, five new unread messages, all from different people. Normally he wouldn't mind it too much, but the people the messages where from did raise some alarms. Tango, Zedaph, Scar, Joe and Xisuma.
The first two there was nothing weird about, simply asking about the meeting later today. But the messages from the other three, caused a bit more concern.
<GoodTimesWithScar> Why is there a kid hanging out at your base, and why does he have hippie clothes like you, Ren and Grian?
<JoeHills> Did you, Grian or Ren adopt a kid recently? Because I saw a kid running around with y'alls attire on around the Civil war area
<Xisumavoid> Why am I getting reports of a kid that has clothes that resembles you and the other hippies clothes?
"Uh, none of you two gave some kid hippie clothes? Right" asked Impulse, eyes still on his communicator.
"I haven't, ask Grian!" called Ren from outside, most likely making breakfast for the three of them. (And when did he get out?)
Impulse gently nudged the half asleep cat hybrid on his back, "Hey Grian, did you give a kid some clothes?"
"Hmmm?" hummed the builder, still half asleep, "Yeah, I gave Lana some smaller version of our clothes"
"Lana?" asked Impulse in confusion, did Grian know who this kid was?
"Yeah, she thought the uniform Doc gave her was to uncomfortable so I gave her some hippie clothes. And she really liked them," ended Grian with a loud yawn, but Impulse could still see the happy smile on his face, "Why do you ask?"
"Well, you see, she's been, ah, running around the server and people are wondering who she is"
The brunette almost couldn't finish his sentence before Grian was of his back and looking at him intently, "What do you mean 'she's been running around the server'? Who was she with?"
"Uh, no one," said Impulse, a tiny bit afraid of the tiny gremlin, "She's been seen alone, but never with a Hermit"
"WHAT?! What do you mean she hasn't been seen with a Hermit?" screamed Grian, the loud noise bringing Ren inside, "Forget that! I have to go!"
Before either of the other hippies could say anything, Grian had rushed out of the room and made his way to Area 77. On his way he passed Scar who tried to stop him from entering, but Grian just pushed him aside and continue making his way to the base, "Doc! Get your ass out here! We've got a problem!"
The creeper hybrid quickly came jogging out of one of the hangers, "Mein Schatz? What's the problem?"
Concern laced his voice, Grian rarely swore at him, or swore in general, so something was up.
"The problem is that Bdubs is a horrible babysitter! I've been told that Lana's be spotted on the main Hermit island alone!" as Grian had been explained the problem, or shouting it, Scar, Impulse and Ren had all made their way over to them.
"Wait, who's Lana?" asked Scar, though his question was ignored when Impulse update Gridoc of Lana's current whereabouts.
"She's moved to the End!"
Now, normally Doc and Grian wouldn't be too worried about that, they had told Lana the dos and don'ts of being in the End, but it was common knowledge on the server that it was Dragon slaying day. Which meant that the Ender dragon would be summoned and killed over and over again all day. And vicious dragon + defenseless five year old doesn't mix well.
So the two very overprotective parents immediately rushed to the nearest Nether portal to get to the End portal, but before they could get far a strange blue magic encased them and the world shifted before turning to the chamber holding the End portal. They froze in their steps to see what had teleported them. Turns out it was Scar, who, even though he had no clue who Lana was knew they were someone important to Doc and Grian, teleported them here, "Go! Hurry before something bad happens!"
Not needing to be told twice the two jumped in, but two Hermit didn't come out. No, a Hermit and a dragon emerged, who was also a Hermit. You see, Grian had transformed into his dragon for just as they jumped in, because the best option was to fight fire with fire. Or dragon with dragon in this case.
And had it been any other situation Grian might have laughed at the dragon slayers of the day's, which was Wels and Tango, faces. But now was no time for that, because the Ender dragons focused had moved over to the tiny five year old who just wandered out from behind one of the obsidian pillars. And with one smooth motion it had dived down to attack the small thing. Grian, seeing this, let out an enraged roar and flew after the black dragon. The loud roar made said dragons attention switch from the small child to the new dragon. The sudden appearance of this new red dragon made it lose focus enough so that Grian got a chance to attack, pushing the Ender dragon away from Lana.
Doc quickly ran up to Lana and picked up the terrified five year old, clutching the child tightly in his arms whispering sweet nothings into his daughter's brown hair. Lana eventually broke out of her shock and started bawling her eyes out, clutching her Papa's lab coat harder in her small fists.
This drew the Ender dragons attention once again onto the child, but Grian wasn't going to let this overrated lizard scare his daughter any more. So with a mighty roar (probably copying Mrs. Weasley and shouting "Not my daughter, you bitch!" But in dragon, because it wasn't good to swear in front of children, and it wasn't good to swear in front of Lana either) he charged at it, biting into the neck of it and doing a quick twisting motion, killing it instantly.
And everyone on the server saw in chat the two new advancements;
Grian has made the advancement [Free the End]
Grian has made the advancement [Who's the boss now?]
The last advancement made everything look at it in confusion, what the hell did that advancement imply? So they checked what the requirements for it was, and once read it they grew a whole more respectful towards Grian. The requirements where "Kill the Ender Dragon in one go, from full health to nothing in one strike"
The Hermits who where in the End looked up at dragon Grian who was slowly descending down towards Doc and Lana, halfway down he turned back to normal and glided safely down the rest of the way. Both of said people were cheering for him, Lana more excitedly and loudly. Doc just smiled happily at Grian and cheered at times with his daughter.
Grian chuckled softly as he went up to them, catching Lana with ease as she jumped to him, "Hi, Princess. How are you?"
"I'm good! All thanks to you Daddy!" grinned the five year old, smile full of teeth.
"I'm glad!" grinned Grian, pressing a gentle kiss on the child's forehead, "And since you've been so brave, how do you say we go steal some of Uncle Bdubs homemade ice-cream?"
The young brunette frowned at her dad, "Stealing isn't very nice Daddy!" after saying that she crossed her little arms like she'd seen Papa do before, and Daddy listened then! So then he'll listen now!
Grian fake pouted, "I'm sorry, how about we ask him instead? Is that better?"
"It's ok Daddy! That's better!" grinned Lana, unfolding her arms. She then latched onto Grian's neck and happily shouted out, "Now, to the ice-cream!"
The family walked to the exit portal ready to leave, but Lana tapped her Daddy on the arm before they stepped in.
"What is it Princess?" asked Grian.
"Can we invite them?" asked Lana, pointing to all the other Hermits who where there.
Doc and Grian looked at one another, than at the Hermits, then Lana and then lastly back to each other. They had a silent conversation for a bit before Doc answer his daughter, "I don't see why not," he then turned to shout at the gathered group, "Hey everyone! You guys want to go to Bdubs' place to get ice-cream with us?"
The Hermits looked to one another, all still very confused, "Uh, sure" called Tango back, not one to pass up a chance for cold treats.
"Well get over here then! We're leaving now!" said Grian.
So they jogged over to them, most of them looking at Lana. Which made the five year old shrink away, and seeing this Doc protectively stepped in front of her, blocking her from the other view, "Why don't you two go get the dragon egg whilst I explain everything to our friends here?"
Lana nodded, perking up at the proposition of getting to see the pretty egg her Daddy has in one of his offices. She patted Grian's arm, her quiet way of asking to be put down. So Grian let her down, keep a close eye on her as he explained what you needed to do to get the egg.
"Alright, you all better stop looking at Lana like that," hissed Doc, and this was a proper creeper hiss, "Your making her uncomfortable, and I have no problems killing anyone for her. So you better stop looking at her like she's some kind of new block you don't know the features of"
"Ok, we won't do that anymore," said Ren, still trying to wrap his head around what was happening, "But can I ask who she is?"
"Lana is mine and Grian's five year old daughter," smiled Doc, turning to look at the two mentioned.
"I think my ears are failing, but I just thought you said you had a daughter?" asked Scar, not really believing what he was being told,
"I do," smirked Doc.
"How could you!" gasped Ren, grabbing Doc's shoulders and shaking him slightly, "How could you not tell me I had a niece until now? Do you not trust me?"
"If it makes you feel any better, no one else knew about her except Bdubs and Mumbo"
"Wait, not even X?" asked Tango.
"Not even X," confirmed Doc, "Now how about we get going? I did promise Lana some of Bdubs ice-cream"
"The nHo knew, didn't they?" deadpanned Scar, "And let me guess, they also knew about your and Grian's marriage?"
The creeper didn't answer the question, he just walked back to the rest of his family. And the others just followed after him with smirks, bingo.
Once they got close Wels went to kneel in front of the five year old, he even took off his helmet, "I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable before, can you forgive me for that?"
"I can!" beamed Lana, "If you give me a hug!"
"I'm sure I can give you that," said the knight, bending forwards to scoop up the five year old, "This better?"
"Very!" grinned Lana, "Your hugs are almost as good as Papa and Daddy's hugs!"
"Really?" asked Wels, and at Lana's nod he smiled even brighter at her, "I'm happy my hugs are up to par!"
"Can we go to Uncle Bdubs now? It's haven't had is ice-cream for years!" asked the brunette, detaching from Wels. Which made the knight whimper, he likened that hug!
"Yeah! Take my hand and we'll be of" grinned Doc, taking the way smaller hand if the five year old on his own bigger one. And then they jumped in, Grian following soon behind.
"See you all at Bdub's!" called Wels, also jumping in.
"On a scale from one to ten, how much do you think Wels want to be that kids uncle?" asked Impulse, walking towards the portal with the others following.
"I'd say two hundred," joked Ren, he wasn't actually so sure if he was joking or not, but he decided to just rolled with it.
Scar nodded in agreement, "But I mean, can you really blame him? I wouldn't object to being that kids Uncle, I mean, she's almost as cute as Jellie!"
"We've lost him boys!" cried Tango dramatically, falling into Impulse's arms.
"Enough talking!" said Ren, "I don't want to be late to the ice-cream!"
And then he jumped in the portal, the others following after.
Then the rest of the day was spent with Bdubs, Keralis, the Gridoc family and the rest of the Hermits who had been in the end, eating homemade Double O ice-cream (Bdubs' words, not anyone else's). And it also comprised of Lana getting introduced to everyone, and she almost immediately started calling them all Uncle. Which made them all, but mostly Wels, happy. Doc was even pretty sure he heard Wels tell Impulse that "He would be the best dragon uncle, and best uncle in general" which made him laugh quietly about it with Grian.
Little did they know that Uncle Etho and Aunt Pearl would always be number one aunt and uncle, but they could always dream.
But Scar and Wels definitely got brownie points, Scar because he did organic builds which the young brunette really likes, and Wels because he gives good hugs.
Grian knew he had to tell the rest of the server about Lana soon. But soon was not now, so he just cuddled closer to Doc and decided to enjoy family time for now.
<>Everyone, please welcome Lana! She's the adorable kid of Gridoc in the "Little sparrow" world! And we also have another one of my achievements; Who's the boss now? But that's about it for now! Have a wonderful time everyone!<>
