Okay, so thanks to JoeHills on a livestream one night, the time frame for season 8 has been agreed upon by the hermits.

It will either happen shortly before the caves and cliffs update during the summer or shortly after the release of cave and cliffs.

either way it season 8 is mid summer 2021.
