Forming Alliances (Day One/Two? Idk)
side note: I was running the Hunger Games simulation again looking for inspiration (aka: interesting deaths) and there was an arena event on day one. i am not lying to you, SEVENTEEN PEOPLE died on DAY ONE of the simulation.
(i'm not basing this book on a specific simulation, i'm writing this BASED on the events that happen in it, but i run it a lot)
also i came across this: "Iskall falls from a tree and dies." and i just thought: fitting, he fell from his omega tree.
ANYWAY, enjoy.

"Grian, stay still!" Mumbo said as he tried unsuccessfully to pin down Grian's wing.
"Sorry, sorry," Grian replied, trying to stay still as Mumbo cleaned the arrow wound in his wing. The two hermits were in a small clearing in the middle of a forest, surrounded by thick foliage. They'd walked several hours before stopping here.
Mumbo cleaned and bandaged the wound, careful not to hurt Grian. Several times he felt Grian flinch, but Grian didn't say anything.
"There, you're all fixed up," Mumbo told him.
"Thank you, Mumbo. And thank you for saving me from Doc, too. I'd be dead already if it wasn't for you," Grian answered.
"Of course, you're my best friend," Mumbo said.
Their conversation was interrupted by a rustle of the leaves. Immediately, both hermits jumped up and faced the source of the noise, tensing up.
"It's me! Fellow Architech and Dragon Bro!" came a muffled voice from behind a clump of vines.
"Iskall?" Grian relaxed, then ran over to help Iskall get through the leaves. Mumbo trailed behind.
"Hey, Grian, Mumbo!" Iskall emerged from the forest.
"Iskall, thank goodness it's just you, I thought it was one of the oth- wait, you're not here to kill us, are you?" Mumbo asked.
"I'm not here to hurt you, I want to form an alliance or whatever. I don't want to be on my own," Iskall said.
"In that case, welcome to our little clearing," Grian told him.
"You alright, G? That's a lot of blood on your wing... and the ground..." Iskall glanced around the clearing.
"It is a lot of blood, but I'm okay," Grian answered.
Iskall was doubtful, but he didn't question further.

Xisuma was getting tired.
"False, where are we going?" the admin questioned.
"We're finding shelter, which I will know when I see. Now quit whining or I'll ditch you," she replied.
Xisuma shut up.
A few hours later, they found a camp. False peered through the leaves and saw Welsknight farming wheat.
"Listen," she whispered to Xisuma. "This is a perfect chance. We can take out one of our biggest threats right away."
Xisuma's eyes widened beneath his helmet. "Th-threats?" he stammered quietly.
"Yes, threats. This is the Hunger Games, and if you wanna run off into the forest crying and fall into a pit, feel free, but I'm going to play this well," she informed him.
"No, no, I'm going to help you," Xisuma decided.
"Good. Stay here and stay quiet." With that, she crept around the edge of the clearing until she was near Wels. Then, she lunged.
"Whoa!" Wels exclaimed as he dodged her stone sword. Pulling out his own stone sword, he parried her second blow. "False?"
"Hi, Wels," False replied as she swept at Wels' feet. He jumped over her blade. "This is the Hunger Games and you're a threat to me."
"In that case, I guess I have to attack," Wels said. He parried another blow, then sliced at False's leg. False missed her block and recieved a nasty cut. She didn't let it stop her. They fought for a long few minutes. Both got some good hits in.
Then, False faltered, giving Wels the chance he needed. Slamming the side of his sword against her head, he knocked her down. False stumbled and fell. Defeated, she lay on the ground as Wels held his sword to her neck.
"Whoever is hiding in the trees over there, come out," Wels called.
Xisuma reluctantly emerged from the leaves.
"You with her or..?" Wels asked.
"I was with her, we're taking revenge on Grian for putting us in here," Xisuma told him.
"I'd be interested in getting some revenge on Grian if you would let me go with you after I defeated you, False," Wels said.
"He'd be a good ally-" Xisuma started.
"You heal me and get us food and you can come with us," False interrupted him.
"Deal," Wels said, sheathing his sword and offering False his hand to help her up.
She took his hand and stood up. Narrowing her eyes, she looked around the clearing, assessing it.
"Nice start," she complimented Wels.
"Yeah, I just-" Wels began.
"But we're leaving this to hunt down Grian once we have enough supplies."
Xisuma and Wels stared at her as she walked away.

"Three... two... one!" counted Tango. He was sitting atop a large tree, watching Keralis walk around his camp. Oblivious, he came nearer and nearer the pressure plate...
BOOM.
"Yeah!" called Impulse from his tree.
"Woo-hoo!" cried Bdubs from another.
The Boomers were back in business! Having found a shulker box full of TNT, Tango had found Impulse and Bdubs and convinced them to join forces with him. They had found Keralis's camp and rigged it. One massive explosion later, Keralis was gone.
"Let's go find someone else to blow up!" called Bdubs.
"This is awesome, just like Season Six all over again!" added Impulse.
The three jumped down from their separate trees and headed off into the woods.

"Hey Cub!" Scar greeted his friend as he landed next to him in the announcers' tower.
"Interesting day today, huh?" Cub said.
"Yeah, looks like some old alliances are reforming," Scar replied.
"Let's get into it!" Cub exclaimed.
Scar and Cub headed up to their recording studio.
"Welcome to the Hermitcraft Hunger Games! Today we see seven groups. The Boomers and the Architechs are back together! There's an interesting team up of False, Wels, and Xisuma- look out, the two greatest fighters are teaming up! Cleo and Joe have set up camp together, and Zedaph and Ren each have their own camps," Scar began.
"As for the fallen, today we see the death of Keralis at the hands- or bombs- of the Boomers," Cub said, firing the cannon once.
"Check back tommorrow for more updates on the Hermitcraft Hunger Games," finished Scar.
"Be cool if the Hermitcraft Recap team could cover this," Cub commented.
"Yeah, but all the hermits being trapped means no videos, and no videos means they can't cover it," Scar said.
"I know, still be cool though," Cub said.
"Yeah," Scar agreed. "Oh, hi Jellie!" he exclaimed as the cat rubbed up against his legs. "Come to watch the Games?"
"I bet Jellie would win the Games if she was in them," Cub joked.
"Of course she would! Wouldn't you, Jellie?" Scar teased, picking her up and petting her. Jellie purred and snuggled up against him.
