~To the Moon and Back?~

-Headcanon: Impulse found out Tango was planning on going to the moon and tried to stop him-

The hermits world was falling apart. The moon was growing rapidly, earthquakes were happening every half hour, blocks were lifting themselves out of the ground, and gravity had become extremely unstable. And it had come to the point where they knew they couldn't do anything to stop it. At least that was how most of them thought. Some felt they could do something about their increasing moon problem. And one hermit in particular was determined to solve it. That hermit was so determined, that he planned on going directly to the moon and moving it back onto its correct orbital path so that it didn't come crashing down.

And of course that hermit was none other than Tango himself. He was currently having his horse, Adequate, equipped with the right gear he needed to be in space. Adequate had been by Tango's side for everything, and he wanted him to be there for what might be his end. He didn't want it to be, but he had been thinking about what Holsten said before. About the chance of him living the landing, about the chance that he would actually be able to save his home, his friends. It scared him to his core, but at the same time it made him even more determined to fix everything. To get things back to the way they were before all of this.

"I can do this. . .I have to do this." Tango said to himself, holding onto Adequate's reins. He pat Adequate on the head and pulled his reins forward, slowly walking outside to the rocket waiting for them. "Holsten, are you there?" He asked still looking forward. His helmet wasn't on his head he was holding it to his side. His space suit wasn't on either, he had put it on earlier but started having second thoughts about the gear Adequate had on. Afraid that he might have forgotten something he went back inside, took his space suit off, and double checked everything. He hadn't put it back on yet, but took his helmet to double check to see if Holsten's connection was still okay.

"Yes Tango, I am here." a voice responded from inside the helmet. "Okay good. Can you connect to the rocket to make sure the system is up and running correctly?" Tango asked. "I already have Tango. Seven times to be exact. The exact amount of times you've asked me to check the system as well." Holsten told him, obviously being sarcastic. "You know you haven't even been here for a day and I'm already getting fed up with you're attitude." Tango sighed. "Oh I'm sorry Tango. I'm just doing what you told me to do. Would you like me to check the systems for an eighth time?" Holsten asked. Tango Groaned and pinched his nose. He knew Holsten was being sarcastic, but he was feeling a little paranoid at the moment and wanted to make sure everything was going to go well.

"Yes please." He mumbled. "Checking it now, say my name if you need anything else." and Holsten was gone. Tango sighed once more and continued walking Adequate to the ship. He walked Adequate to the launching platform, set up a fence post, and tied his reins to it. Tango walked off to the side of the island that H.A.S.A had been built on and stared out into the ocean. Nervousness was building up inside him again. He was thinking about everything he had, and everything he might lose. His builds, his home, his friends, everything.

He didn't want to lose any of it. And that's why he had to do this, to save it all. "You have to do this Tango. You have to save them." He repeated to himself. He looked back at the rocket. "Everything is ready Tango." a voice said suddenly, making him jump. "Holsten! Don't scare me like that!" Tango shouted, holding the helmet out in from of him. "Oh I'm terribly sorry, how shall I warn you next time? Should I tap you on the shoulder?" Holsten asked, his sarcasm as clear as the moon was at night, and partially day.

"Nevermind, sorry Holsten. Thank you." Tango said. "If you need again me just say my name." Holsten said as he disappeared once again. "Will do," Tango sighed to himself. He walked back to the rocket and laid his hand on the surface of it. "This is it, isn't it?" Tango asked himself. "Come on Tango! Do this for them! You have to save them!" Tango yelled at himself. He banged his head on the rocket. "Ow," He groaned. "Snap out of it. You have to do this. . ." He mumbled.

"Tango?" someone said from behind him. He knew that voice, and he couldn't mistake it for anyone else. He turned around and he was right about the voice he heard. "Impulse?" Tango said. There Impulse was, standing there with a golden apple in his hand and his elytra on. "Impulse what are you doing here?" Tango asked turning his body around and walking towards Impulse. "Stopping you from doing this." He told him.

"D-doing what?" Tango asked nervously. "Going to the moon! Tango I can't let you do this." Impulse said. "Why not!? I'm doing this for the good of Hermitcraft! For our friends, for you! I know how to stop this I can do it!" Tango shouted. "Tango! Even if you know how to fix this it's to dangerous! How do you think everyone is gonna feel when they find out you went to the thing that might be trying to kill us!" Impulse yelled, making Tango stop. Impulse rarely ever yells, and usually when he does it's not because he's mad or upset, it's because he worried. "I need you to listen to me," Impulse said, grabbing onto Tango's shoulders. "Okay. . ." Tango said.

"You can't do this. Everything that's up there is dangerous, and I'm sure what your planning to do is dangerous too. Everyone's gonna worry about you if you do this. They're gonna worry about if your safe, if you healthy, if your going to come back, even if your alive! And if you don't come back we won't know what to do. We don't replace people here Tango, and if your gone. . .I don't think we'll be able to let that go." Impulse told him. Tango looked up at him to see a sad expression on his face. "Impulse I have to do this. I want to do this." Tango told him. "Just let me go." Saying that made Impulse's eyes shake with fear. That made Tango realize he most likely took it the wrong way. "Impulse that's not what I meant! I know what you thinking and I'm not gonna die! I promise you I'm not gonna die! I wouldn't do that to any of you!" Tango shouted, grabbing hold of Impulse's hands, lowering them from his shoulders. "You listen to me now," Tango said with a smile.

"I promise you, that I won't die. I'll be as safe as I can, I'm already taking so many precautions and double checking everything just to make sure I'll be okay up there. The last thing I want to do is leave you guys here wondering what happened to me. I don't want to make my friends worry, so I won't." Tango told Impulse. "It doesn't matter if you don't want us to worry. If you go up there and they find out their gonna worry no matter what." Impulse said. Tango sighed, "I know." "If you know that than please, don't go." Impulse said. "I have to. I want to protect you all and if that means going to the moon than I'll do it. I just have to ask you one thing." Tango told him. "And that is?" ". . .Do you trust me?" After that was asked there was a long silent pause. Tango waiting for Impulse to say something. Impulse already knew his answer, he just didn't want to say it, even though he knew he had to.

He wanted to support Tango but this was too hard for him. "I hate that I do." Impulse laughed nervously. "Heh, If you trust me, then you trust that I can do this. Right?" Tango asked. "Oh my goodness stop making this so hard and just go already! Be a hero! If you want to do this I shouldn't stop you. Just be safe." Impulse said with a bright smile. "Thanks Impulse." "Anytime." Tango walked away towards the rocket as Impulse watched him go, when suddenly he stopped and turned his head. "Impulse?" "Yeah Tango?" He asked.

Tango turned around fully and looked to Impulse. That was when Impulse noticed the tears in Tango's eyes. "Heh, you know this is why I didn't want to say goodbye to anyone, or see anyone before I go but, well now your here." Tango said with a chuckle. "And honestly I'm kind of glad now. That I got to see someone before I leave. And I just," Tango sniffled and whipped his eyes before he looked back to Impulse, smiled, and extended his arms out. "Can I just have one last hug before I go?" He asked, his tears coming back already. Without another word Impulse gave him another bright smile, walked over and hugged him. "Can we just stay here for a while?" Tango asked.

"Yeah, I think I'd like that myself actually." That hug lasted a long time. No words were exchanged for a while, just a comfortable silence. Those two valued their friendship, more than a lot of things. So saying goodbye was hard for them, even if they weren't saying it verbally. After a while Impulse finally said something. "Be safe remember. And make sure you come back okay? I don't wanna lose you." He told Tango. "Of course, You can't lose me and I can't lose you. I'll come back. I promise."

I don't know how this managed to be long and rushed but it did. Sorry if this is a little lazy or anything. It's past 4am right now and I'm REALLY TIRED. But I still hope you enjoyed it! More coming soon :]

Hi I return again I was looking over this and remembered I completely forgot about the Golden Apple Impulse had. My original idea was that Impulse was going to give it to him and would tell him to eat it if anything bad happened while he was away.

BUT ITS TO LATE FOR THAT NOW ISN'T IT
