Head Empty Only Bdoc
I was going to give this one a proper title, but, as this one shows, my head is empty. Only Bdoc thoughts remain.
(I promise this is the last Bdoc drabble for a little while)
Oh I should probably also mention this is College/Roommates AU
"Glad you two could make it!" Ren greeted the two males as he opened the door.
"Of course!" Bdubs smiled, walking into the house.
"There's a small study upstairs that's quiet if you ever need the escape," Ren told Doc quietly. The hybrid was grateful that his friend knew him so well.
"Thanks," he said, though he didn't think he would be escaping from this party anytime soon, especially since Bdubs was here.
An hour later, Doc was ready to throw himself out a window.
He loved his friends, really he did. But all of the loud music and obnoxious noises were too much for an introvert like him. Yet he stayed, his full focus on Bdubs. He ignored Zedaph pouring two different drinks into Tango's mouth while a concerned Impulse watched. He even ignored Grian who was wrestling a carton of eggs out of Xisuma's hands with a laughing Iskall behind them. The only thing he cared about was his roommate's stupid grin as he danced to the tacky music with Keralis and Stress.
However, it only lasted for another 20 minutes.
By then Doc just couldn't take it anymore and snuck upstairs. He sat in the study, his back against the wall with moonlight dancing around him from the window above.
Bdubs could feel eyes on him the whole night, and it wasn't from someone he was dancing with. He had snuck a glance at Doc and immediately felt conscious of everything he did. When he finally felt brave enough to look his way again, the brunette watched his roommate disappear up the stairs. He too then managed to sneak away from the party and crept upstairs.
"Hiya Doc!" The hybrid looked up from his phone at the sound of a familiar, sweet voice.
"Hey DoubleO," he smiled, placing his phone down.
"Mind if I sit?" Bdubs asked, standing next to him. The darker brunette patted the ground, and he sat down, crossing his legs. "Sorry for dragging you here, I know you're not a big party person,"
"Nah it's fine, I don't mind," Doc pushed his hair back, looking at the ground.
"Are you sure? Because we can just leave, if you want,"
"Seriously Bdubs, it's fine. You shouldn't leave because of me," he insisted.
"But what if I wanted to?" he asked softly.
The hybrid glanced up at him, his heart racing.
"Y-You know because we're best friends and all!" he quickly added, blushing. Doc chuckled, shaking his head.
"Whatever you say. But for now-" closing his eyes, he leaned his head on Bdubs' shoulder. "I think I just want to stay here,"
The small brunette thought his heart was going to break through his rib cage. His face was red and he was so nervous he didn't want to move a single muscle. Slowly glancing down, he saw Doc's hand. It was just... sitting there next to Bdubs' leg. It was like his flesh hand was just asking to be held.
Scraping up the courage from the nearly empty bowl in his chest, the tan male took his hand from his lap, and gently placed it on Doc's. In response, the taller male pulled his hand away, causing Bdubs' heart to drop, crashing into the floor below them.
Doc didn't want his hand under his roommate's.
He wanted to hold it.
Moving closer to Bdubs, he laced their fingers together, unknowingly reviving Bdubs' heart.
With his heartbeat drowning his thoughts, Doc raised his head and kissed the shorter male's cheek.
"D-Doc!" he exclaimed in shock.
"I think you're cute, Bdubs," the darker brunette quietly admitted.
This time it was the other roommate's turn to kiss his cheek.
"You're pretty cute yourself," he giggled.
Holding his cheek with his free hand, the hybrid pressed his forehead against Bdubs' and closed his eyes, smiling. The tan roommate stared at him, touching the hand that held his cheek. Inhaling sharply, he closed the gap between them, shutting his eyes.
The feeling of soft lips pressing against his owns caused Doc to open his eyes. The lighter brunette's eyes were sparkling when he opened them.
"Doc, do you think-" he started to whisper but was interrupted when the darker brunette squeezed his hand and kissed him again. Bdubs kissed him back, taking his hand off of the taller male's and pressing it against his chest. When they finally pulled apart for air, they stared at each other in silence, catching their breath.
"Would you be interested in going on a date with me tomorrow?" the freckled brunette blurted out.
"I'd love to." The brunette hybrid ran a hand through Bdub's hair.
The two of them jumped as they heard yelling downstairs.
"Beat that Zedaph!" a muffled Tango taunted.
"Want to get out of here?" Doc asked, gesturing towards the window.
"Sure!"
Jumping up, Doc opened the window and started to climb out. He reached out towards the tree and grabbed hold of a branch. Pulling himself all the way out, he made his way down, landing in a bush below. Bdubs followed, weaving his way through the branches. Near the bottom, the taller roommate held out a hand, helping him jump off.
"That was fun," the freckled male giggled, plucking a leaf out of Doc's hair.
Hand in hand, the hybrid shot Ren a quick text and the two walked back to their dorm.
