Chapter 23
Evil Xisuma had watched the hermits break out of their cages and smiled when he saw them start fighting. He stood from his spot at his monitor and went to go check on his other guest.
He opened the door and stepped inside to find Poultry man starting to wake up.
Xel noticed EX approaching him and let a small growl rumble in his throat noticing Grian wasn't with him. "I swear to Notch, if you've hurt him-"
"You'll what? Egg me to death?" EX taunted, squatting a bit to be at more eye level with him though with the helmet on he couldn't see his eyes.
Xel didn't reply. He kept his breathing steady as he watched EX try to prompt a reaction from him.
EX frowned when he didn't get one and stood up. "You know, I'm honestly surprised to see you. Last I heard, you went into hiding before the war started." EX stood at a nearby table, working on something.
Xel listened to the clinking of glass and liquid swooshing quietly.
EX chuckled. "Not exactly talkative, are you?" He glanced over. "I guess that doesn't matter. You're little kitten friend however, is rather obnoxious,"
Xel narrowed his eyes though EX couldn't tell.
"He's honestly caused so many problems, though then again, he did bring you to me. So I really am torn whether or not to be happy he survived..."
"Does that even matter?"
Ex glanced over at Xel. "Hm?"
"He would've just respawned. Sure he'd be trapped at his base but still, he'd respawn and figure something out."
EX chuckled darkly turning away again. "What makes you so sure he would?"
Xel stopped, frowning deeply. "What's that supposed to mean?"
EX turned to him. "What makes you think any of them could respawn right now?"
Xel tensed a little. "You can't make them unable to-"
"But what if I can? Do you know? How would you know? You never knew where I was before so what makes you think you know what I can and can't do?" EX smirked. "Have I ruffled up all your feathers, chicken man?"
Xel glared at him. "Only the admins can do that."
EX smirked. "And command blocks."
"You can't possibly have a command block."
EX just smiled and turned away, finishing what he was working on before coming over to Xel.
Xel watched him approach from the side where one of his arms were cuffed to and pull out a small syringe.
"Don't worry. This will only hurt for a moment." He told him before rolling back his sleeve and injecting it into his arm.
Xel gritted his teeth as he felt the potion enter his system.
EX removed the syringe and turned to him. "That should start working sooner or later."
Xel was staring at the ground as EX started to stand back up. "You better... keep an eye out..." He muttered.
EX scoffed. "For what? An egg? A feather in my pillow?" he taunted.
Xel suddenly looked up, meeting his gaze. "A sword through your back." He replied deeply and firmly.
EX felt an actual chill go down his spine as his gaze was frozen, locked with Poultry man's before glaring. "Making threats like that will only get you killed." He hissed.
"I could say the same for you."
The two stared at each other for a long amount of time before EX turned away. "You're not worth my time." He decided.
Xel watched him as he glanced back again. "And don't expect to see your kitten again."
Xel's eyes widened and pulled against the chains as EX walked out the door. "You leave him alone!" EX ignored him as he turned to shut the door.
"You hear me?! LEAVE HIM ALONE! GRIAN!" Xel called as the door shut.
