Tango's POV:

We stood in this cave as the echo faded, stunned and confused. Xisuma was the first to recover.

"Are you Nyx?" He whispered, stumbling slowly to the rim of the cave which dropped down to despair and darkness.

"Like a deer in the headlight, you dive straight to danger. Yet, you haven't known the name of danger." The spine-chilling voice hissed.

Grian stood and flew over the pit, "It's dark..."

In an instance, shadow-like arms grasped the struggling body of Grian and pulled him down, his terrified face pierced my memories and the scream was silenced by distance.

A low foul cackle was heard, the voice came back this time shifting his voice to Grian's voice, "Help me! Help me!" It changed back to normal, "Well, pitiful. Isn't it, now what are you going to do, leave and betray his trust or be trapped here with him by your side."

Mumbo's eyes flashed with anger, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM!"

The voice sneered, "You're quick to anger... how cute."

The ground below me buckled before a hand-like shadow exploded out of the floor near me.

"Duck!" I warned, avoiding the hand's fist slamming down on me.

"Children! Come! Come be with our friend!" Nyx provoked, causing the most confusing turn of events to happen.

Mumbo and Wels both dived into the shadow hand, I took out my sword to prepare to stab it, the hand just faded out of existence, the floor of the whole cave collapsed... and we all fell.

Did I land on a bubble? It's solid but not really... I don't know it's weird.

The room around had chasms like the moon, in that was an abyss like liquid and on top, a bubble like the one that I'm sitting on and in the middle, Grian stood still as a stone.

"Grian!" Wels yelled.

Caught off guard, he slit his dragger through the air, his eyes in fear and anger.

"Whoa, whoa. It's us, don't worry." Wels backed up in mild surprise.

Grian drew a long shaky breath and put down Ashrune with trembling hands, his eyes snapped back to the kind and warm brown eyes that I knew.

"What just... How am I...?" He looked around, and suddenly turned around, "You! I heard you in my head and the next moment I know, I raised Ashrune at my friends."

The wind shifted around like a storm and wrapped itself into a cocoon.

"Well, I just borrowed your voice for a bit." A cunning raspy voice said, the wind settled and a black voice appears.

Nyx turned around while still kneeling, she had a long void-like dress that covered the ground and white hair that glowed like a moon, her eyes one grey, one silver; and a halo so dark, it was like sucking the light out of everything.

"Hi, I am so pleased to meet you all... formally."

For instance, we raised our weapons in unison.

"Quick to jump to the case, aren't you?"

Iskall jumped in first, his sword raised hoping to kill her in a single blow, but nothing is as easy as it seems to be.

Shadow vines busted out of the ground and stopped Iskall without effort, she giggled as she watched Iskall trapped in her vines.

"Well, it's rather impolite to not greet a goddess without kneeling." She raised her bone-like hands from her dress and in an instance, Iskall was thrown on the floor in a kneeling posture.

"Why are you doing this?" Ex asked.

"Well, for fun. It's so lonely down here in this cave and hey, I'm not fully selfish."

Hypno loaded his bow and aimed, but it backfired as Nyx rose and sent a wave of wind to push Hypno to the back of the cave.

Now at her true height, she looked down at us with cold eyes.

"Well, we could have been friends. But, not here, not now." She took one step forward; I felt the ground break below me.

"To your right!" I alerted and quickly jumped out of the way from more shadow-like claws.

"Try and keep calm, we can only defeat her if we are together," TFC said, even though his body is old; he was willing to fight with the shimmering sword in his hand. (That gave me a lot more respect for him)

Xisuma nodded to TFC and they both dashed, Xisuma swing his hammer in a way that made Nyx jump to the right but was caught off guard by TFC swinging his sword up and blinding one of her eyes.

For a moment, the cave held its breath, she stood leaning and facing the ground, the drops of her gold blood settles on the ground.

Nyx looked up and giggled insanely, the ground below her shook

"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M ABLE TO DO."

Out of the blue, the hands grasped TFC and Xisuma, throwing them into the cave walls, and in response, we all charged in, trying to fight her but she outmarched all of us.

Like a madman, she yelled, "DON'T YOU SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING?"

Joe and Hypno let out another string of arrows, and it all seemed to pass through her.

She turned around and stared at us all with her grey eye.

"I was there, I created the night sky. I was one of the first ones to ever see this world." Nyx said gripping Ex by his neck and strangling him.

"Stop it!" Xisuma said, sauntering back with a stiff leg, the helmet's glass that he always wore was broken, the glass embedded into his head, causing him to bleed out of the side of his head.

Grian flew upwards to gouge out her hand with Ashrune, it didn't go in but it sure hurt her; causing Ex to drop onto the ground with any consciousness.

Xisuma rushed to his side with lightning speed, he held Ex's body and dragged him out of danger.

Hypno and Joe tried to fire another shot, But Nyx launched backward, she waved her arms in a circle-like motion and a huge blast of wind knocked Grian off his feet and slammed him hard onto the ground, it also scattered our weapons around.

"Go... away."

Something about her tone changed, Xisuma sneered back,

"Are you begging us for mercy?" (Holy, he was scary, remind me not to make him angry.)

TFC blocked Xisuma and shook his head whispering in a low tone, "Something is wrong. Calm down."

Xisuma's shoulders relaxed a bit and looked at Nyx. She had her knees on the ground and her body was curled over, she looked like she was hugging herself.

"Leave me alone," She said, we held our breaths unknowingly.

It was no longer begging for her life, but a warning for our life.

Black smoke pour out from her mouth, her eyes were ivory silver, and a screech came out from nowhere, the smoke turned into a humanoid shape with white eyes.

I shakingly reached for Hypno's crossbow and silently pulled the trigger.

It didn't work, it just disappeared into the smoky figure, now it had its eyes on me.

I cursed silently and looked around for more arrows and it launched at me.

"What the- WHO ARE YOU?" I screamed as I blocked its claws with the crossbow.

"Did she... I didn't think that..." TFC said in horror, picking up his sword.

Nyx looked at her smoke-like creation and laughed like a manic, "It works... it still WORKS."

I blocked more of its attack, inching away on the ground, "What still works?"

TFC stabbed the smoke creature in the back to no avail, it turned its head to TFC and they stared at each other waiting for the other to make its first move, "I think Nyx just made a new god."

The smoke finally spoke in an echo-like voice, "I'm Akakios, the deity of madness and revenge."

I screamed for help and the hermits now split into two groups, one was forced on Nyx and the other on.

"We can't kill this... thing!" Jevin screamed.

"Well, it's made out of the smoke and it's a god," Grian said, somewhat dazed and bleeding from his forehead.

"I think the best way to 'kill' Nyx is to knock her out," Hypno said, reloading his bow.

"How? She is giant!" Jevin yelled back, now dueling with the creature.

"Can't you just drop something heavy on her head?" Stress said to Jevin.

"There is no water for me to control," Jevin said to Stress, who was now controlling one of the shadow vines that Nyx used and was lifting a rock.

"How did you manage to control..." Jevin response.

"Keralis helped." Stress winked.

The rock was launched, and behind the vine was Keralis, I never saw him so serious.

Nyx shapely turned and caught the rock and throw it into Hypno, he barely jumped out of the way, but Cub's leg was caught in the rubble.

"Don't you think that it's a bit dangerous?" Cub said, trying to pull his leg out.

"One by one, you will be trapped here," Nyx smirked.

"Jevin! Help or something!" Stress and Keralis now trying to re-control the vine.

"Look, my dad maybe is a god of earthquakes, but I don't have that power!" Jevin said blocking its claws with a shield.

"I can do that," I spoke.

I run to Stress and pick up Ashrune, Grian's dagger. "What do you want me to do?"

Stress blocked an arrow misfired from Joe, "Collapse the rocks above her."

I cut up the shadow vine and raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure?"

"Just trust me, I'll protect you." Stress said, she took a defensive pose.

I raised my arms and searched, the cave was made unnaturally, it had weak links everywhere and the rocks had weak points in the rock where the wind will flow through. Then I found a point, it was the center point where most of the rocks were held up but weak enough to collapse, I just need something a bit heavy to hit it once.

"I can't pull it down; the rocks are too heavy, but I found an area where the cave can collapse easily." I pointed at the rock.

Stress nodded, "Keralis? Did you get that one?"

Keralis nodded as well and yelled, "Hey! Nyx!"

Nyx turned and summoned a bunch of vines to take care of us.

Stress commanded, "Cut all, but leave one for us to control."

So, I got to work, using Ashrune to cut down the vines, I cut my palm as well. (How did Grian use this?)

"Oh," I whispered, Ashrune was now dripping with blood.

Stress was driving on the shadow vine and Keralis's hands are glowing in a faint light.

"This thing isn't fully controlled." Stress said as the vine resisted their magic.

"We need the cave roof to collapse... NOW." I yelled as I run to help Xisuma, who was barely able to move and was about to be stabbed.

I slipped in and blocked a strike from Akakios, its white eyes lit up in surprise.

Stress and Keralis stood in horror as I fought Akakios.

"Stress! Fire the rock!" I yelled as I was out-speeded by Akakios.

Stress stumbled back and pulled the vine back but paused in her actions.

"FIRE THE ROCK, STRESS!" I screamed as I was pushed onto the ground.

That seemed to snap her out of her trance, and the rock was fired.

But nothing can ever be that simple, the rock hit at a point near the weak point.

It hit the weakest points in the roof, a point where all the rocks were held up and will collapse into. In simple words, the whole mountain was going to collapse down.

"Frick," I whispered.

The rock started falling and a rumble was heard above me and I looked up to look at a rock falling on me.

I froze up a flash of memories. The day I met Impulse, the campfire bonding, pranking with Grian, the day I got claimed, quests and quests, the cave the ZIT team was built up in, camping with the Hermits.

I just stood still, I had accepted my death, my mind was blank beside the thought of "Thank you for everything Hermits."

I closed my eyes and waited for the rock to fall onto me.

But it didn't.

I opened my eyes slowly and looked around and only saw TFC who was glowing.

"Wha- where are... how?" I asked.

"I paused time for a short while, the others are already out of danger," TFC said, his tone was somewhat panicked.

I didn't ask a question, I just walked out and TFC unfroze time, the whole of the mountain collapsed, and it was dead silent. (Haha bad pun.)

I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Is Nyx dead?" Mumbo asked, his clothes torn and bloody.

"No, but just merely knocked out," TFC answered.

"I hope she stays knocked out," Ex said, Xisuma helping him on his feet.

Iskall looked around, and whispered, "We're being watched."

I felt a cold chill on my back.

"We need to go; we wasted enough time here," TFC said.

"The portal... is it going to close?" Grian asked, his legs still shaking from his near-death experience.

"I don't know. But we still need to go." Xisuma said.

The monster that was hiding from the collapse of the mountain slowly creeped out and stared in hunger and fear.

"The monsters are currently scared of us. Let's go before the shook wears off." I spoke.

We started to run back, and never looked back.

TLDR:

It's now done or die.

The end is near.
