Alone in Thoughts
Grian's POV:
Look, I will never get why people are scared of spiders, but their reaction is funny.
We stepped into the cave, Impulse, Zed, and Tango leading the way.
"I can sense someone deep inside," Tango said, doing whatever the son of Hades will do.
"You got very cool powers, Mr. T," Biffa said following behind Xisuma.
"I know, it's useful when others get lost in a cave. Oh? Wait." Tango said, his tone turning dead serious.
"What is it?" TFC asked.
"There's someone else there." Tango narrowed his eyes.
Then a spider jumped out of the ceiling. (Got to say, nice timing.)
"AH-" Impulse jumped back, tripping over a rock, and fell into Xb's arms.
"You ok? You saw something?" Xb asked and looked worryingly into the tunnels the cave split into.
"Spider spooked me, but yeah, I'm fine thanks." He said, balancing himself.
"Spi-Spider?" False shivered, "They give me the creeps."
Cleo with no fear of the small bug, picked it up and handled it to False, "Why? They don't hurt you or anything."
False backs up, "Get that thing away from me!" She draws her sword.
Ren patted her on the shoulder, "Guys, stop teasing her, and Falsie, you're making a lot of noise."
Tango nodded, "If Phobos is in this cave, they would have heard us."
We wandered farther into the cave, an eerie fog came in.
Biffa shivers, "Are you sure, you're going the right way?"
"It's Tango, we can trust him," Zed said trying to maintain his flame.
"You know, that's kind of weird." Etho walked into my view.
"What is?"
"In other fogs, Impulse's flame alone is enough to guild the way, but now, even with Zedaph, I can barely see the glow."
"That sounds like foreshadowing to me," Joe said somewhere behind me.
Tango stopped in his tracks again, "The cave opens into a limestone cave up ahead, there's where the two presence seems to come from."
"Are you sure?" Biffa said, shifting his weight into another leg.
"What is there to lose if we check?" I said, moving in first.
Now, most limestone caves are pretty, and Scar can describe it in about seven million words, but this one was just one word: Eerie.
We stood on an upper level of the cave, a mudslide goes down from where we stood, down on the cave's floor was a thin layer of water, that reflected the dripping cave roof; and in the middle was a limestone throne mirrored front and back, all covered a thick foggy blanket.
"Must be for the two presence Tango talked about," Xisuma said pointing at the throne.
"Is it me or do I feel like I'm being watched?" I shivered.
"Oh nay, mine own young children, thou art being gazed at." A sickly male voice called out.
The Hermits all turned around, a tall figure with the face of a child watched us, he was very thin and had broken black wings, he had a halo of eyes that never blinked. He wore purple robes that were torn and burned. (Reminds me of someone... or rather something)
"I hath heard thee we're finding Phobos, how sweet." He said, in his sickly-sweet voice.
"How-?" Keralis asked before being cut off.
"Simple, Phobos knoweth thou fears and issues, Biffa was afeard of me." He said, pointing his boney finger at Biffa.
Biffa remained silent in shock.
"Oh, Shakespearean English, how scary," Joe said, unimpressed that Phobos was speaking like his favorite author.
Phobos waved away Joe's comment, "Phobos knoweth wherefore you're h's, thee all been afeard of poor little Phobos haven't thee?" He bowed to get onto my level.
"Nothing about you is small." I sneered back, "Can we just do what we came here for?"
"Oh aye, Phobos wouldst loveth to! but Phobos is never high-lone." His halo of eyes looked at the throne, "Brother dear?"
"Yes?" Another voice said from the back of the throne, the voice was monotone, and almost sounded like static.
"Wouldst thee liketh to cometh to Phobos? We got guests!" his voice was sweet and high.
A dude with six wings landed softly next to Phobos, and if you think Phobos had too many eyes, this person had none, the area where his eyeballs are supposed to be was hallow, he looked as if he has been crying blood. His priest-like clothes were torn and covered with blood.
"Hello, nice to meet you... guests." His tone is robotic.
"Isn't it wonderful? Phobos at each moment did get his brother with him, if 't be true thee did want to findeth dram fusty Phobos thee shall too findeth his dearest brother!" Phobos smiled creepily.
"Fear and Terror are never too far apart." Added the monotone voice.
"Deimos, you're Deimos," Ex said, finally using his hollow brain. (You know it's true! Shush!)
"Correct, small human." Deimos opened his arms. "Are you prepared for your task?"
Wels nodded first, then we all joined in the nodding.
"Wow, thee seemeth to be brave children, Phobos won't wanteth to spoil thy excitement!" Phobos clapped his bone-like hands in excitement, the fog around our feet turned black.
"What is-" False said before collapsing on the ground.
"False!" I yelled, suddenly my vision went spotty, the hermits one by one collapsed, except...
"What are you doing?" Cleo bellowed rushing in to help hold up my body as I fade into the unconscious.
...
When I woke up, I wasn't in the cave, it looked more like a white void.
"Cleo?" I yelled out. "Guys?"
I start walking, it was like a never-ending hallway; farther down were shards of glass being held up by a white string.
"Huh." I wondered as I looked at one of the shards; it wasn't reflecting me, it was reflecting a blond kid with mismatched color eyes, he had scars across the face.
I went and looked at another one, the hermits were there but they seem to have different clothing. (I was there too! Looked more like a scientist than a demigod)
"Hey? Guys do you know where I am-" I subconsciously went and touch the glass, a spark of electricity bounced the glass away from me, "Auch!" I backed up in surprise, the glass shard cut my finger, but I wasn't bleeding.
I shrugged it off and came near a huge mirror, it was highlighted in a purple perimeter, and on the bottom was a small note.
"Evo...?" I read, and put my hand near it, the mirror glowed where I touched it. So, I stepped in
"What is this... place?" I muttered and looked up, it seemed to fade into an end-like city. (the term-end city sounds familiar, where have I heard it from?)
I stepped inside, there was an obsidian tower with a weird square symbol. (Again, looked similar)
I walked inside...
Cleo's POV:
"What does all this mean?" I yelled, holding up Grian's unconscious body.
"Wherefore fear not Phobos just hath sent those folk to a dream-like land!" Phobos said, his halo of eyes staring at me.
"Impressive, you have seen through the fog," Deimos said, his voice unflinching. "Have you no fears?"
"I- know- why does that matter?" I said, putting Grian gently on the ground.
"Phobos senses nothing from thee! Phobos senses nay fears from thee!" Phobos, like a manic, starts laughing at me.
"Brother, this is no laughing matter." Deimos said, his voice still monotone.
"But brother can't thee see? The lady is perfect! We can playeth with that lady until that lady mind breaks! then we haven't a slave on our command!" Phobos grinned, pointing at me.
"I don't have a mind; I don't have a brain," I muttered.
"Phobos brother, we have accepted the children as guests," Deimos said putting his hands together.
"And you do not need to worry about your friends." He continued, the hollow eyes staring at me. "They have just gone to sleep."
I checked Grian's pulse, it was faded and slow, and I mildly panic again.
"His pulse is weak!" I sneered again, "They could die any minute!"
"If it gets to that, Phobos brother knows what to do." He spoke, walking closer to Grian.
Grian turned in his sleep, shivering a lot more, I pushed Deimos away, "Don't go near us!" I bit, using charmspeak.
"Oh, how cute! Charmspeak? Almost maketh Phobos wanteth to obey thee!" Phobos giggled touching my nose.
"Hey! I may be the daughter of Aphrodite, but I can and will tear your face off." I scoffed at them.
"That is our mother too, small child." Deimos smiled for the first time, reviewing that he had no teeth.
I narrowed my eyes at them and sat backside towards them.
Deimos and Phobos seemed like they were bored with me and flowed off in different directions, their feather fell onto the ground and they spoke in their last words.
"We will be watching you with great interest, Cleo."
I looked at the unconscious hermits, "When are you going to wake up?" I muttered softly.
"Please, wake up, I miss you guys..."
...
Grian's POV:
Inside the tower was the hermits, my group of hermits.
In excitement I flew to them, like running in a conveyor belt, I wasn't getting closer to them, but they were getting farther from me.
"Wait..." I breathe heavily. "I can't..."
I dropped onto the ground, unable to move. My wings enclosed around me forming a cage. A weird ringing started in my ear.
"Too slow." A voice said it sounded like... Impulse.
"Ha, that's lame." "Ungrateful." "Sick." "Twisted." The voices continued all sounding like different Hermits.

...
...?
Then it was silent.
I looked up, someone else is there with me.
"Who are you?" I asked, crawling backward.
The person remained silent, only offering me a hand.
I stood up. The person was a bit taller than me and looked like me; same hairstyle, same hair color, and same skin tone, he had a dark purple cloak with a hood on, he wore a purple jumper and had a yellow crystal necklace that glowed softly, he also had actual yellow wings and a purple halo that looks like its dripping. Last but not least, he had a mask with a weird symbol on it.
I it looked around, "You're the first person I met in here, so uh- where am I?" I asked.
He shook his head, "You're not proposed to be here." (Heck, he even sounded like me.)
"That doesn't answer my question."
"Why?"
I shrugged unable to answer his question.
"If they found out about this, I going to have so much paperwork." He muttered, shaking his head.
"You sound like Ex," I said, sitting down on the cold marble floor.
"Who?"
"Xisuma's brother?"
"Xisuma doesn't have a- whatever." He said, spinning up a few magic panels.
"Woah, son of Hecate, right?" I asked.
"Never knew my parents."
"Cool! If I was back with the hermits, they will be amazed at you!"
"I am already with another group of friends like me."
"That's nice what are their names?"
"... The Hermits."
"Neat, our groups should meet one day!"
A bit of silence went by.
"You should go back to your world."
"What do you mean?"
"You aren't really supposed to be here."
"Where is here then?"
The other person looked away, "It's hard to explain." He said, "I will send you back to your world."
"Wait, I never got your name!" I said, standing up.
"It's... ̇/ᒷꖎᑑ⚍ᔑ." He said quietly, raising his hand, "I'll see you soon again. HermitCamps Grian."
So, he snapped his finger.
I woke up again, facing a Cleo that looked like she's been crying.
"Hey," I said, sitting up, she stared at me for a few seconds and squeezed me.
"I thought you died!" she said, half crying and half laughing.
"Sorry, had a terrible nightmare." I looked behind me, "Are Phobos and Deimos here?"
She pulled away, "No, but we got proof to Nike that we met them." She pointed at the feathers on the ground.
"Ugh, what a weird nightmare, something about an evil clone..." Wels muttered, coming to. "Hey."
"Sup, Wels, have a good sleep?" I asked.
"No, it was terrible, my worst fear!" Wels sniggered.
"What was it?" Cleo asked
"An evil clone that can rap! He threatened to burn us alive." He scoffed at his thoughts.
Cleo cleared her throat trying not to laugh, "Let's wake the others."
After like forever of trying to wake the final two (Hypno and B-dubs) up, we gave up and asked Cub and Iskall to just carry them.
"Well, that was unique," Xisuma said, still in shock at what just happened.
"Zero out of zero! Will not come again." Ex said.
"I don't think they want anyone to come." Cleo shrugged.
"Well let's just go to Nike, give her this feather, and merry on with our quest," Mumbo said, still straightening his hair.
"Yeah, let's go." I smiled, going back to the train station.
