"C'moooonnnn Impy, there's nothing around for miles! Let's just set up camp before it gets daarrrrrrk..." Tango groaned, dragging his feet across the dirt road through the forest.

Ignoring Zed and Chimchar's sounds of agreement, Impulse trudged on. "It's probably not safe here! Do you want to get pounced by a grass-ghost type?"

"Nooo...."

Looking around, Zed sighed. "Can we at least take a break? Chespin's getting heavy-"

The poor little Chespin had collapsed about an hour ago. It probably didn't help that earlier Chimchar had really wanted to battle...

"Treecko..." Impulse's Starter tugged on his cargo pants, finally getting the brunet to stop. Noticing how tired even Treecko looked, Impulse paused.

"... alright...."

"Whoo!!" The two blonds cheered, their Pokemon joining in meekly. Impulse chuckled and started looking for a safe enough clearing.

After a few moments of cautiously searching through the trees, Impulse found a good enough spot. "Over here!"

"Chimchar-!" The fire-type squeaked as Tango quickly lifted him up.

Chuckling, the blond power-walked to where his friends were meeting up. "Don't worry, little buddy. You've walked enough today!"

Giving a small coo of thanks, Chimchar snuggled against his Trainer and looked over at the other four.

"Too bad we don't have a tent..." Impulse sighed.

Shrugging, the Brit sat down and plopped his Chespin into his lap. "I'm not against just sleeping under the stars!"

"Yeah, but there's probably bug-types all over this place."

"And I've got an awesome little Chimchar with fireification stuff. We'll be fine, Impy!" Tango laughed, sitting next to Zed as Chimchar proudly grinned. Treecko, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found.

"Hey- Where's Treecko?"

Impulse sat down and looked around. "Uh... he seemed like he found something, so I let him wander off for a bit."

Giving a small hum, Zed nodded as he pulled out a Pokeball. "He probably found something neat again!"

Opening the small white and red ball, the Brit let Bulbasaur out.

"Bulbasaur?" The Pokemon questioned, looking around in confusion.

"Figured you wouldn't like being stuck in there forever." Zedaph laughed, patting the grass-type's head. "Besides, you need some fresh air and as much sunlight as you can get right now-"

Giving a small coo of appreciation, Bulbasaur snuggled against Zed with a smile. "Bulba Bulba!"

"Tree!"

Hearing his Pokemon's voice, Impulse's head jolted up. "Treeko? Buddy, where-?"

"Tree-Treeko!" The little grass-type cheered, walking over with an armful of berries. Trotting over, Treeko handed each person and Pokemon one of them.

"Oh- Thanks buddy!" Tango laughed.

"So that's where you went." Zed patted Treeko's head with a smile, who grinned and handed Impulse two, leaving one just for themself.

Smiling, Impulse bit into one of the berries, glad to have such a caring partner by his side.

Once they all finished their food, the group laid down their blankets to not sleep on the bare ground and laid down together, staring up at the already star-filled sky.

"Whoa... Can't get this view in the city." Tango chuckled, patting Chimchar's head as they curled up on his chest.

Impulse nodded before putting his hands behind his head. "Yeah..."

"Bulba..." Bulbasaur yawned and plopped beside Zed and Chespin. Smiling, Zedaph also patted his Pokemon's head affectionately.

"See, Impy? Is this so bad?" He teased lightheartedly, playfully elbowing his friend's side.

Treecko sighed and shook their head in mild amusement at the same time Impulse gave a quiet laugh. "Maybe not..."
