Later that day, the kids were almost all picked up Mumbos parents were just checking him out as Grian did his daily glare at them as they walked out the door with his friend "see you tomorrow Grian!" Mambo yelled as he waved before running ahead of his parents.
Grian let out a chirp like noise and Xisuma chuckled as he saw the pouting toddler sitting near their lego robot "you know he has to leave same time everyday Grian" Xisuma waved as his employes "doc hurry up or your paying for gas on the way home!" Cub yelled as he ran to their car Doc quickly chased after him. Xisuma sighed and went over to Grian "this is why you need to fall asleep during nap time and not colour" Xisuma picked up the avian who was hitting Xisuma lightly he hated sleeping outside his bed and without his stuffies but as Xisuma carried him and collected their items before locking up Grian found himself drifting off slowly he kept fighting it but ended up losing the battle and his eyes drifted close.
Xisuma locked the daycares door and unlocked his car putting Grian in his car-seat leaving him unbuckled for the moment as he put the bags in the back seat on the over half then Grian, buckling Grian up he put one of Grians favorite stuffies next to him its a medium sized (pretty large for him) of a red parrot.
Near home Grian woke up slightly and looked around "Dada?" he spoke quietly and yawned. Xisuma stared at Grian thru the rearview mirror he was shocked he never heard Grian call him dad, or anything Grian struggled with speaking so he mostly makes noises.
The entire drive home Xisuma was unsure if he heard it correct. Once he parked in the driveway he glanced at Grian who was half asleep chewing on his stuffy. Xisuma took the bags from one side of the car and picked up Grian taking him inside.
Grian woke up slowly he tapped Xisuma's shoulder "dada" Grian said as he wiggled trying to get put down Xisuma put him down and smiled at Grian, as soon as Grian was put down he ran off climbing up the stairs on all fours running to his room and slipping into his blankets he cuddled up to his blankets and fell asleep.
Xisuma invited people over, When they arrived it happened to be Doc and Cub, the adults spoke in the living room and Grian woke up crawling from his bed falling a bit he stood up and grabbed his stuffed parrot he went to the stairs and slid down them till he made it to the first floor then he stood up again stumbling slightly but once he was stable he ran to Xisume "bah!" Grian said as he threw his stuffy on the couch then climbed up struggling greatly so Xisuma did pick him up and placed him on the couch, Grian ignored Doc and Cub he was more interested in his stuffy.
Suddenly Xisuma's phone started ringing. When he answered it he grew a panicked look as he looked at Doc and Cub "my brother got hurt and needs my help can you guys watch Grian for a bit?" he asked them Doc immediately replied with "yes. Ofcourse go help your brother we'll stay here with your kid" Doc stood up as he spoke making Cub smirk and his reaction. Xisuma nodded then ran out the door, Grian played with his stuffy, everything was calm Doc and Cub chatted well Grian played with his toys that was until a storm rolled in when the rain started Grian went to the window to watch he loved seeing how the droplets danced down the windows but before he could watch long lighting and thunder hit the brightness and loudness of it all made Grian jump his wings puffed up and he let out a scared squeak, tears began to fall from his eyes as he began to cry from the storm "Grian, its ok X should be returning anytime now" Cub spoke and rubbed Grians back trying to comfort him Grian threw a small toy dinosaur at Cub "PAPA!" he yelled loudly right when he did yell Xisuma walked in the second he heard the yell he ran to Grian and scooped him up into his arms "you're ok i'm here" Xisuma spoke quietly and held Grian close Grian held onto Xisuma still crying but calming down now he looked at Xisuma's face "papa.." Grian said and without missing a beat Xisuma nodded "its me kid" Xisuma replied "we should head out before this storm get to bad, see you at work tomorrow" Doc spoke as he dragged Cub to their car before driving off taking Grian to bed he placed him there and grabbed a story book reading it felt like torture but he knows Grian loves him reading stories midway through the small book that at most had 20 pages he saw Grian was asleep he tucket the toddler in then left the door making sure the lights off but he has a nightlight on.
Grian was fast asleep chewing on his hand, well unconscious, his stuffies everywhere and his favorites under the blanket with him.
