"Seriously Professor? I mean after Alicia resigned, we need one, but they're first years?" asked Wood. Apparently, his name was Oliver Wood, not just Wood. "Absolutely Wood. They were fantastic. I've never seen anything like it. Was that your first time on a broom Granger? What about you Potter?" she asked us. We both hung our head down and nodded. I guess we weren't going to be expelled.

"She caught that thing when it was speeding at 10 miles per hour and caught it. She threw it behind her back and had amazing aim and Potter caught it. When he dropped it, Potter zoomed down and caught it after a fifty yard drop, didn't even scratch himself, Charlie Weasley couldn't have done it." Professor McGonagall said proudly.Wood looked like this was the best day of his life. "You two ever seen a game of Quidditch?" he asked us excitedly. "Wood's captain of the Gryffindor team" McGonagall explained. "She's just the build for a Chaser too. He's just the build for a Seeker" Wood looked like he was jumping up and down. "We'll have to get them a decent broom, a Cleansweep 7 or a Numbus 2000" Wood said, analyzing us.

"I will ask Professor Dumbledore about it. Maybe we can bend the first year rule." McGonagall  said. "Wait, so we're not punished?" I asked. "Not today Miss Granger" McGonagall said with a small smile.

"You're joking!" Ron exclaimed at dinner when we told him the news. "Seeker!? Chaser?! First years never, but you must be the youngest player in-" "A century , yeah, Wood told us" Harry said beaming. Fred and George now came in the hall, spotted us and walked over. "Good job." They said in unison and in a low voice, " we're on the team too, Beaters"

"We haven't won since Charlie left." Fred said, "You guys must be good, Wood was literally skipping when he told us. We have to go, Lee reckons that he's found a new passageway out of the school. See you at ten" he added, and walked away.

Malfoy came up to us and said "you two having your last meals here?" he sneered. "You're much braver now that you have your cronies here with you" I shot back, gesturing to Crabbe and Goyle. "I'd take on you any day Granger" he said my name with disgust "How about tonight? Wizards duel, just wands, no physical contact,that is if your Muggle parents told you what they are." "Of course she does, I'm her second, who's yours?" Ron said coolly. Malfoy thought for a little and said "Crabbe, midnight good? I'll meet you in the Trophy Room, that's always unlocked" he gave us a smirk and walked off. I hoped my business with Fred and George would be over by then.

"What is a wizards duel Ron? And why are you my second?" I asked. "The second is there to take over if you die." Ron explained. I instantly had a sick feeling in my stomach. "But people usually only die in proper duels. You will just be able to shoot sparks at each other." Ron reassured me. "What if I can't shoot any spells?" I asked. "Then punch him in the nose" Ron said, imitating a punch.

"Ahem" I heard behind us. It was Mione. "Hey sis!" I said, happily. She ignored me and said "I couldn't hep but overhear  what you said about Malfoy-" "bet you could" Ron muttered. "You mustn't go about the school at night, you will get Gryffindor in trouble, it's really quite selfish of you" I sat there dumbfounded. She was never this mean to me at home. Ron noticed I wasn't saying anything and said "and it's really none of your business, good bye"

She left and I felt tears brim my eyes. She never did this to me at home. I got up and ran to the common room. Once I got there, I started crying. I missed Mum, and Dad. I though that if Mione was here with me, it would be better, but now even she isn't herself.

It was 5 minutes to 10 when I finally spotted Fred and George descending the stairs.

"Where have you been?" I asked in a semi angry voice.

"We're not late Evangeline chill," Fred said holding his hands up in surrender.

"Let's go, I have business at midnight," I said, tuning and starting to walk off. I felt a tug at my neck and i saw that George grabbed my hood of my robe.

"We need to give you some information first Emma," he said cautiously.

"hm?" I questioned.

"We're looking for a rustic piece of parchment. Really old and folded up. Thing is, you need to be very careful not to touch anything. Who knows what kind of jinxes are in there." Fred explained.

I nodded my head, "Got it, now can we go," i said rather impatiently.

"After you Milady," George said bowing and motioning the way to go. Fred followed. I giggled and left the common room. We tip-toed to his office as quickly as possible. It was dark.

"Lumos" we did at once. I made sure not to touch anything, and only used my wand. We cracked jokes while we looked so it would be more enjoyable.After about 20 minutes, George found it.

"Good job!" I whisper yelled. "what is it?"

"Something that will prove very useful in getting out of the school" Fred said with a smirk. He opened the door for us to leave and we left the room when we heard footsteps.

"Go!" I whispered, "He'll believe me being out just go," They scrambled off and I was 5 feet away from Filch.

"Granger...what're you doing here at this hour?" he said, eyebrow raised. I looked around and saw the Charms classroom was in the next hall over.

"I left my and my sisters book in the charms room, I was going to go get it," I explained in my most believable tone.

He grunted and nodded. As I walked back to the common room, I realized I loved it. The rush of being in that position. I made it back and the Fat Lady was still there to my surprise.

"Pig Snout" I said clearly and the portrait swung open. I saw the twins run up super excited.

"Whatd he do?" George asked. I shrugged.

"Nothing" I said simply.

"Damn Evangeline, you're lucky," Fred said. I laughed.

"Good night you guys," I smiled tired as I went back up. Quickly though I remembered my duel, and was not excited.

It was half past eleven. I got dressed and went to the common room, where Ron and Harry were waiting for me. Another person was there too. Hermione. "I almost told your brother" she told Ron. "He would put a stop to this. We started through the portrait hole and Hermione started lecturing us. I didn't care anymore. "Leave" I snapped. She looked taken aback. "Fine" she said. She started back towards,the portrait, but the Fat Lady had gone off somewhere. "Now what am I going to do?!" She groaned. "Shut up!"I said. There was something moving. "Neville!" I said. "Thank goodness I found you! I couldn't remember the password" he said. "It's Pig Snout. It won't help now though. The Fat Lady left." Harry told him.

They said that they were coming with us and Ron threatened them. We made our way to the trophy room and waited there for a while until we heard a voice. It was Filch. "Did you find someone my sweet?" He asked Mrs Norris. This way I mouthed. Everyone followed me. We went through this gallery of armor unnoticed, until Neville tripped and made a big CRASH! "RUN!" Harry screamed. We sprinted through the hallways until we got to the Charms classroom. It was miles away from the Trophy Room, so we were safe.

"Malfoy tricked you!" She snapped at me. "You know, funny enough, I worked that out for myself, thanks" I shot back. Suddenly, I heard something and Peeves came in. "Please Peeves, don't give us away" I begged. Ron tried to hit Peeves and he bellowed, "STUDENTS OUT OF BED!! IN THE CHARMS CORRIDOR!" We started running until the end of the corridor again and her Filch following us. "We're done for" said Ron. "Move over!" Hermione said annoyed, "Alohamora" she said and the door unlocked.

We went inside and Neville started whimpering. Peeves started messing with Filch's brain, if he had one, and laughed. "What Neville!" I exclaimed. He was pulling on our robes. He pointed up, and we saw what he was so scared of. There in front of us, was a three headed dog. It was HUGE. We had woken it up, and it was staring right at us. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" We all screamed and ran out of the room.

We ran, and ran, and ran until we got back to the common room. "Pig snout, pig snout, PIG SNOUT!" We exclaimed. She opened up and we ran inside the common room. "What are they thinking, keeping a thing like that is a school!" Ron said. "You don't use your eyes do you? Didn't you see what it was standing on?" Hermione snapped. "No, I was
preoccupied with its heads, if you didn't notice, it had three!" I said, annoyed.

She started going on about the dangers and went back in the common room. "She has got to sort out her priorities" Ron said. I wondered what the dog was guarding, and why?
