"Hermione?"

"Granger?" Draco whispers, walking past the door of the muggle hospital. He saw her laying in a bed, by herself, no one else was in the room. She was just laying there, staring out the window into the ocean. Draco was a doctor at the hospital, he was walking down the hall towards his office. He wouldn't have another patient for a few hours. He knocked on the open door, he got no reaction as he slowly walked in. "Hermione?"

When he finally saw her face, he saw her red, puffy eyes. Her tear stained cheeks that she didn't bother to wipe away the new fallen tears. She had a blanket over her, covering her stomach. She held a stuffed animal, a pegasus. It was pure black, it looked brand new. She cradled it. When she finally noticed him she didn't say anything, she didn't do anything. Draco was a little worried. He pulled a chair over and sat next to her. He stared at her. Draco hesitantly put his hand on her's. Only then her head slowly turn to him.

"Malfoy?" she whispered, looking to him. Her eyes seemed empty, except for a piece of hope that was mostly covered in sadness.

"Hermione? What's wrong?" he knew that he hasn't seen her, heck, none of the people in the wizarding world has spoken to her. She just vanished. He knew they didn't every, really get along with her. She didn't do anything, she just turned her head to the window, staring at the setting sun.

"He's having trouble breathing," she whispered brokenly. It was quiet. The silence was almost deafening. She took in a shaky breath. "So small. So tiny. I didn't even get to hold him."

Draco assumed it was a child. He looked at her, sadness written across his features. He wanted to ask where the father is, wanted to know why he wasn't here, why wasn't any of her friends, her parent's. Where is her family? She looks to the pegasus, another tear falling down her face.

"Perseus," she whispered after a moment. Draco stared at him.

"What?" he asked softly.

"His name," she specified. "Perseus is a hero from the greek legends. He is the only one who lives a happy life. Percy, for short." Draco nodded. "He will live a happy life."

"How long?" Draco asked. She didn't answer. Not straight away, no.

"It's been about a week," she says. "I haven't held him. He was so small, so tiny. Defenseless."

"Gra-Hermoine, are you alright?" Draco asks. Draco really has changed over the years. He stopped with the prejudice thing he hasgrown up with, he now lives in the muggle world as a doctor, but he also co-runs Maltech Industries. She slowly shakes her head.

"No. But he will make it. He is a fighter," she whispered, mostly to herself. Draco nods, when he helps with healing the newborn infants who have been sick, some mothers react differently. He always helps them, putting on a fake front, telling the new parent's how well their child is coming along. But with Hermione, it's different. He couldn't bring himself to give her false hope. He didn't know how her child was doing, he didn't even know she was here.

"Where is his father?" Draco asks. More tears fall from her eyes.

"He was lost at sea," she whispers, it wasn't the truth. But she couldn't tell him the truth. Draco nods, for the millionth time.

"I'm sorry," he says. He just wanted to give her the false hope she asks for. He wanted to make everything better for her. He hated seeing her this way. Broken, sad, hopeful, fear. She was normally put together, knows everything, everytime, all the time. She gave him a sad smile. "Have you met him?"

She shakes her head.

"I had a c-section. I couldn't, I couldn't face him. He is having trouble breathing. I couldn't see my baby boy sick," she says, going back to staring outside. Draco thinks about it for a moment before getting up. He let's go of her hand, she doesn't do anything. He starts to leave the room, he stops at the door and looks towards her. He sighs before heading to his office.

"Hermione," he comes back in. She looks at him, blank face. He goes over and crouches in front of her. "Hermione, would you like to meet your son?"

She stares at him, a small smile pulls on her features, causing Draco to have a smile on his face.

"Really?" she asks, a new kind of hope runs through her voice. He smiles.

"Yeah, come on," he says, rolling a wheelchair over and helping her into it. She still holds the pegasus stuffed animal.

Once they reach over to where all the newborns getting treatment, Hermione stared in awe at her newborn child. He was small, tubes and hooks were connected to his sleeping form. A new kind of tear formed in her eyes. They were tears of joy.

"Hey, Percy," she whispered, a light laugh escaping her lips. She was talking to her child. She was meeting him. She reached her hand through the hole and gently grabbing the tiny baby's hand with her finger. More tears fell from her eyes as she continued to talk. "I'm your mother. And I love you. I have a better place for you at home. You just gotta get better. Please. I love you. You are such a brave boy. I love you, I love you so much, my little warrior. Here. When you get better, I have this stuffed animal for you. It's a pegasus, a flying horse. I got it for you when I found I was having you. Oh, my beautiful boy."

Hermione continued talking to the sleeping babe. Draco doesn't know how, but he knows the little boy was listening. Taking everything in. Listening to the words his mother was telling him. Draco, for the first time in what feels like forever, he smiles. He smiles a real smile as he watches the mother care for her son. He read that little Percy had a respiratory infection. They have given him antibiotics, now it's just up to him. Hermione turned to Draco, signalling him over.

Draco was turned to their doctor because he had better results and knew more on what was going on. Even if he didn't fully know what was going on. Draco walks over, putting a hand on Hermione's shoulder as she turns back to her son.

"Percy, this is Draco. He's helping heal you," she tells him with a smile. "During school he would pick on me. We loathed each other. After everything, I forgive him," she talks about how they met, all the good things that happened between them. Draco watches, he stopped listening after she says that she forgave him. His breath froze for a moment. A tear fell down his face.

Hermione was back in her room, she was better. More hopeful. She still stared at the ocean. Watching the waves crash on the rocks, watching the sun, the red and orange from it washing over all the land for you to see. A warm feeling courses through you as you watch the beautiful colors vanish over the calm water. A dolphin jumps over the water, in front of the sun, it was a shadow in the light. A few clouds cover the bright light. As if protecting them from the crude light that could ruin their sight by staring for to long.

"Hermione," Draco starts.

"Thank you," she interrupts. He stares at her, confusion etched over his features. "For helping me. But can I ask you something?"

He nods, his hand signalling for her to go on.

"Please don't tell anyone, that you saw me. I have stayed away for a few years now. I know it's selfish. But I don't want to face them, again. After I left without a word. I don't know what there reactions will be. Please," she asks him. The confusion doesn't let go, it just increases. He nods anyway, understanding. After the war, he couldn't blame her.

"I won't," he promises. She smiles and nods. A small yawn escapes her lips. He chuckles softly. "Sleep. Percy needs his mother healthy for him."

"Hermione," Draco whispers as walks into the room. Hermione was asleep under the now cold-ish blanket. She turns over to face him, her face lighting up, and she wakes up instantly at the blue bundle in her arms. "Wanna hold you son?"

"Oh, my baby boy," she cries as she finally holds her son for the first time. She smiles at Draco, tears forming in her eyes. "Thank you," she whispers.
