Chapter 6

"You two know each other?" Chyla said, looking from me to the female Trandoshan, blaster pistol drawn. I could tell she was not in a trusting mood.

"Barely." I said, still slightly tense. "We met only once-"

Jessika cut me off with a snarl. "He trashed my bar."

"Oh." Chyla said, and lowered her pistol.

Jessika then turned back to me. "I ssssssee you've encountered some trouble with the Empire?" she gestured to the two stormtrooper corpses lying on the ground.

"Yes." I said, "We need shelter. And a ship. Can you help us?"

Jessika nodded. "We'll need to move quickly. When thessssssse two don't report in, the Empire will ssssssend more troopers to look for them."

She gestured for us to follow her, and we walked through town, until we made it to her bar. The sign reading "Talbur's Bar" was still lit outside.

When we entered, the bar was as empty as it usually was. The only beings still inside were the drunk Nikto who was there last time (still slumped in the same spot), and the two Arkanian Females, only in a different spot than last time.

Jessika opened the bar, allowing us to go behind it. She then led us into a small back room, where there were a few couches, a simple chair and table, and a holoprojector. Jessika gestured for us to sit down, and then pressed a button on the projector.

It sparked to life, and displayed a familiar person.

"Torluuk." I said, half relieved, half annoyed.

"Ah, Krypto, my good friend!" he said in his usual, overly happy voice. "I hear you've encountered some problems with the Empire?"

I nodded my head.

"And you are in need of a ship?"

"Unfortunately."

"Can you help us?" Chyla asked.

"Hmmmm..." Torluuk mused on this. "No. I cannot help you. However, my brother owns a shipyard on Florrum. He may be able to find a ship there that will fit your needs."

"Florrum?" I said angrily. "How in the hell are we going to make it to Florrum?"

"There'sssss a intergalactic transsssit vessssssel leaving for Florrum not to long from now." Jessika cut in. "If you hurry, you may be able to sssssneak on unnoticed."

"Very well." I said, turning to Chyla. "We're going to Florrum."

Using cloaks that Jessika had given us, we were able to sneak through the city, and onto the intergalactic transit vessel.

It was crowded, smelled weird, and almost impossible to find a seat, but it was a perfect place to hide from the Empire.

At least 10 minutes after we boarded, the droid pilot came over the intercom.

"Organics, please strap in. We will be departing shortly."

As soon as he finished speaking, the ship lurched, and shook the passengers around. Chyla yelped, and suddenly put her hand on mine, squeezing it.

Shortly thereafter, the ship's movements calmed down, and Chyla realized she had grabbed my hand.

"Oh, s-sorry." she said, letting go of my hand.

Under my helmet, I couldn't help but smirk.

By the time we arrived at Florrum, the number of beings crowding the transport ship had decreased significantly, and we were able to exit the ship without a struggle.

The planet of Florrum was a dull yellowish-brown color, covered in dusty planes and canyons. We followed a pathway into a junkyard that had 'Pirates live here' written all over it.

"This must be where Torluuk's brother is." I said to Chyla. "Be on guard. Weequay are swindlers."

Chyla nodded, and we entered the shipyard through a curtained entrance.

On the other side, we were instantly surrounded by six Weequay aiming blasters at us.

"Put your hands up where we can see 'em!" Said one of the Weequay, who had a thick accent.

Reluctantly, we raised our hands, but not very high. "We're friends of Torluuk Ohnaka. We were told his brother owns this shipyard."

"Torluuk?" said a jolly voice from behind the group of pirates.

Suddenly, the men were pushed aside by another Weequay, who looked much, much older than the others. "Torluuk sent you?" the man said again.

If it wasn't for the obvious age gap, I would have thought that this was Torluuk. He looked and sounded almost exactly like him. But then, the stranger introduced himself.

"Hello there! I am Hondo Ohnaka!" he took off his hat and bowed. "And friends of my brother are always welcome here!"

The men aiming their blasters at us eyed off Hondo, and he held his hands out to them. "Please, men, lower your weapons. These are friends!"

The men relaxed, and lowered their blasters.

"Go on, off with you. I must speak to our guests!"

The men walked away, and Hondo approached us. "It's been a long time since I saw a Mandalorian." Hondo said, scratching his head. "I don't think I've ever seen two of them before."

"I am Krypto Kinoto," I said, placing my hand to my chest, then pointing to Chyla. "And this is Chyla Titi."

Hondo shook both our hands. "A pleasure to meet both of you." Hondo said, leading us further into the compound. "What do you need?"

Before I could speak, Chyla told him. "We're on the run from the Empire. We need a ship, and your brother told us we could get one here."

Hondo sighed a bit. "Well, you can, but it will cost you."

"How much?" I butted in. "We have credits."

Hondo put his hand on his chin and thought for a moment, then said, "Fifty thousand."

"Fifty thousand?" I said in an outrage. "I doubt and of the junk in here is worth that much!"

"Fine, fine." Hondo said hurriedly. "Thirty thousand."

"Twenty." Chyla interjected. "We need one with weapons."

"That'll cost you more." Hondo said, raising an eyebrow. "Make it twenty five thousand."

I sighed. "Deal."

Before I could hand him the credits, a voice shouted from behind us.

"Stop right there!"

We whirled around to see a black armored figure entering the building, followed by a squad of white-armored Stormtroopers.

The Empire had found us- again.
