Chapter Thirty Six

Two days later I went to the bathroom to take a shower. When I was done, I realized I forgot a towel from the closet. Why they don't keep them in the bathroom is beyond me. I didn't want to get my clothes wet, so I was gonna have to sneak there and back. Naked. With a man on the couch. Oh, great way to start my day. Let's see how this goes.

I opened the bathroom door and peered outside. I figured Angus would be asleep this early in the morning but no way in hell would I let my guard down. I crept out the door, completely vulnerable to the elements. I walked down the small hall to the closet, and heard footsteps. So I hid inside.

The door closed just before Angus walked by. He cleared his throat and headed for the bathroom. Great, that's where my clothes were. I mentally kicked myself for forgetting a towel, or not asking Angus to get me one. But I thought he was asleep on the couch. I didn't want to wake him, and figured I could sneak by.

The bathroom door closed and I considered running back to my room for a different set of clothes. Wrapping a towel around myself, I opened the door and snuck by the bathroom. Problem is, Angus is a boy, and they go so fast it's almost unhygenic. So of course he opened the door right when I was standing there.

"Hey."

"Hey." I looked down embarrassed, but also trying to hold in a laugh.

"The shower's in here you know."

"Yeah, I forgot a towel."

"Looks like it." I giggled. "These yours?" He held up my-unmentionables. I grabbed them.

"Yes," I mumbled.

"Good, orange really isn't my color," he smiled walking out.

I came back out to the living room and saw Angus eating cereal on the couch. "Find everything okay?" he asked.

"Yes thank goodness. Where'd you get that?"

"Pantry. I wouldn't bother though, it feels like chewing gum. Probably expired the same day I was born."

"That's nasty."

"Milk's a little fishy too. For a hotel like this you'd think we'd have our own cook."

"Gee Angus, how do you think they pay for all this decor then?" He paused.

"Taxes." I laughed a little too hard and snorted. "Hey, haven't heard that in a while."

"Saving it just for you."

"I'm flattered. Well, guess I'd better shower. Wash the pencil shavings out of my mouth." He left and I went to his bowl and took a bite. I made a face. "Told you."
